How can I get Firefox to remember a password?
I was trying to log in to a website but had forgotten my password so I was routed to the security questions. Each time I entered a security question answer, the little Firefox box popped up asking me if I wanted Firefox to remember this "password". Each time I clicked on "Not now" and continued. When I had finally been sent a temporary password, logged into the site and changed the password, I logged out and logged in again. Of course, this time the little box did not pop up offering to remember the password! How do I get Firefox to remember my password?
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving and filling the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save names and passwords and other form data.

If the name stays the same and you only need to change (update) the stored password then fill the name in the login form and let Firefox fill the wrong password.<br />
You may have to press the Tab key to fill the password field.<br />
If you replace the wrong password with the new password then Firefox should offer to store the new password.<br />
Use the Remember Password bookmarklet on websites that use "autocomplete=off" to prevent Firefox from saving passwords.<br />
You can verify that Firefox has stored the new password: Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"<br />
If that didn't work then remove that name and password in the Password Manager and Firefox should offer to save the new password on the next visit or after reloading the login page.<br />
If you have problems to remember a new password then make sure that you remove all entries from that server (look for an empty name as well) and also check the exceptions to make sure that the site is not listed there.

I initially said for Firefox to NOT remember a password for COZI.com, my online calendar site. Now I would like it to, but cannot find a place to make that happen. I checked under TOOLS/OPTIONS/SECURITY/PASSWORDS. The site is not listed under exceptions either. Is there a way to make this happen?
I do not see that form in the page source, so it looks that it the login form gets created via JavaScript and the Firefox Password Manager doesn't work in such cases. Form fill may store the name.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie that you must allow: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Cookies' and the 'Site Preferences'.
Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing".

How can I get Firefox to remember my AOL sign in & password?
My wife & I use the same computer and both use AOL for Email. Both of our usernames & passwords would come up on the Email sign in page, so we could just choose the appropriate one. Then a while ago AOL made me change my password, but the password didn't change on the sign in page, so i would have to delete it each time & put in the new one. I didn't realize that the password was stored in Firefox. So yesterday I contacted AOL & they had me click on tools then options then security then saved passwords then highlight https.//my.screenname.aol.com and then delete it. So now when we go to the sign in page, only her info is there, & if I delete hers & put in mine Firefox doesn't ask If I want Firefox to remember the password. Someone who used our home computer must have clicked "Do you want Firefox to remember this password?" when using one of my shopping sites. So now when I try to sign in to that site, the password and email are already filled in, and I just have to click. Anybody can do that and I want to stop it. Tried changing the password, but it was no good.

Other times it puts in an incorrect password; when I click on sign in I get a message saying "Your password was changed ____ hours [0r days] ago. Then I have to type in the password. Why can't it consistently remember; usually, first thing in the morning it has the correct password, and occasionally throughout the day, but not always. This is hugely frustrating and annoying to me.

I want Firefox to save my passwords as it has in the past, but now it is not doing so. I am using version 6.0.2, I see the pop up asking to remember the password, but firefox does not save the passwords. What can I do to correct this so FF starts saving my passwords?
Firefox 4 and later versions place a key icon on the location bar that allows to (re)open the dialog to save the password at any time.<br />
That pop-up dialog has a button labeled with "Remember Password".<br />

That looks like a normal password input form.
Check that you haven't set a block exception.
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions
You can also check if there are any entries for that site or entries with an empty name listed in the password manager.
* Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
If you click "Never" then you create an exception that needs to be removed.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
*Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
