How can I get InDesign CS6 to work when it keeps crashing in Windows 8.1?

Hello,
I keep having a problem where InDesign CS6 shuts down unexpectedly, only after I've kept it open for a brief while.
The error message is:
"Adobe InDesign CS6 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
close program."
Has anyone out there encountered this?
Any idea on how to fix it? I was prompted by Adobe Update Manager to have updates installed recently. Photoshop CS6 seems to be working ok (I have Creative Suite Standard CS6)

What are you doing when the program shuts down? Is CS6 patched to 8.0.2?
Have you tried setting the compatibility mode to Windows 7 or Windows XP?
Do you have any non-adobe plugins installed, like a font activation plugin?
Have you tried trashing the prefs? See Replace Your Preferences

I recently purchased Indesign CS6. When I went to import a PNG, it failed to recognize it. I then tried a JPG to no avail. The exact error message reads as follows:
"Cannot open the file "photo.png". Adobe Indesign May not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be in another application."
How could the plug-ins be missing? Wouldn't these be installed with Indesign? Any advice as to how to proceed?.

You need to use the file>place command.

I'm coming into my second week of desperate attempts to make my After Effects CS6 (Volume License) work in the cursed Mac OS 10.9 : (
I'm back to using CS5.5 which works, but my clients are getting irritated by having to down-save all documents to CS5.5 for me.
I've been in contact with several Adobe advisors without luck, so I'm trying to reach out again, hoping someone has been able to solve this problem, it seems I'm not the only one suffering from this.
– I've installed CS6 OK.
– I'm trying to patch it to 11.0.4, message keeps saying "Adobe Application Manager is damaged or missing, please reinstall"
– I've tried loads of ways to remedy this; CC cleaner, surgical removal and reinstallation of all Adobe files in various order, silent installs, all kinds of permissions repairs and adjustments, reinstalling AAM, installing AAM for volume licensing, studying the PDApp.log, install and crash logs,
I've considered wiping my entire system and trying to downgrade to Mac OS 10.8 in order to get my CS6 back up and running but I worry this will lead to new problems.
Grateful for any tips or help.

My ipod touch has been stalling in different stages of the syncing process and when it finally stops hours later, it only syncs some of the songs and playlists I've checked. This is well within the memory storage. To be honest, this thing has been a problem since all the updates a year ago. I've been using my ipod classic, but I would like to use this one because of the blue tooth capabilities. This is very frustrating.

I've searched the discussions to no avail, so I have this question: how can I get Activity Monitor to work? It launches and its window opens but then the spinning beachball appears. I've checked the Console and it shows that the Activity Monitor is attempting to fully launch but then it "exits" and then it tries to fully start up again, goes into an infinite loop or something. Issued a "force quit" succesfully. I've deleted the Activity Monitor's .plist, no joy. What to do? Thanks!

Yes definitely make sure you're not covering the mic, its at the bottom of the phone on the left next to the 30 pin, but if thats not the problem and you're still under warranty then definitely take it back to apple because it's probably a hardware issue and theyll gladly replace or fix it for you.

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

As AT&T has not officially unlocked your phone it must have been hacked to use another carrier. So when you updated it has relocked itself to AT&T. There is no official unlock so this will happen anytime you update.

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right? If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or

I dont have Prokit 4.0.1 if you are referring to that, do I need this first? Please explain what application name I am looking for if other than Prokit which is sitting in my "download folder" do I need to manually put it into the apps folder?
