hi all everytime i go to authorize facebook on lightroom 5.5 it keeps coming up and saying its not responding how can i fix this everything else works fine on it

Connect the iPad to OS X via a cable, launch iTunes, select the iPad in the left column navigation sidebar (if you don't have that left column visible in iTunes, then select View > Show Sidebar), navigate through the settings for the iPad to select which books or whether all books are synchronized, and press confirm.
You can also select that purchases are automatically downloaded via the iOS settings, if you would prefer. This settings is buried under Settings > iTunes & App Store > select the behavior you want.
There's also an intro to your iPad available from Apple, if you've not already seen that.
Alternatively, see various entries un the "more like this" section off in the right column of this web site.

ZFS Storage supports LDAP, NIS, AD as directory service.
Hope Open Directory is also based on LDAP and may work in similar fashion.

How can I get rid of the Facebook email addresses? The comcast addresses are stored in the comcast (xfinity) app. I do not use the "mail" or "contacts" apps ....I go straight to comcast (xfinity). I could be wrong, but it sounds like Facebook imported to your contacts. I have the Xfinity app on my new ipad, too, but none of my stored contacts from the online version are showing, only what I manually entered into the iPads contacts are there. When I did add the FB app, I did not grant it permission to push and pull from my ipad (not a fan of FB knowing every detail about me), so that may be where our difference lies. You could try to open the app and change your privacy settings, or delete it and then reinstall without granting permissions to integrate.
I'm sure someone here with a lot more knowledge then me can probably diagnose your issue better, though. Good luck!

Had you never backed up the phone before? When you saw the iTunes logo and cable, the device was in recovery mode. The data was already lost. The only way to recover from that is to restore the device, which will delete all of your data. You will only be able to restore to your last backup, whenever that was. Sorry this happened, but this highlights the importance of doing regular backups. The backup is the only protection you have against a problem like this.

How can I get Itunes 7 to burn to my external La Cie burner, and not my internal Pioneer burner, which is behaving unreliably?

Is there a way to reset the default CD burner? I have an internal pioneer burner the DVR105, and an external firewire La Cie burner. The La Cie burner is much newer and will burn properly. However, itunes 7 is trying to burn to the internal DVR105 only, and it keeps giving me errors.
How can I get Itunes to burn to the healthy la Cie? I know my Toast software recognizes it...I have burned DVDs to the La Cie many times before in Toast. Itunes offers me no option to select which burner to use, unlike Toast. My OS is Panther.

Sorry, Itunes is not giving me that dialog. Lemme tell you, it did give me a related dialog earlier today when my La Cie was not connected. Apparently it defaulted back to the Pioneer at that time. I have since reconnected the La Cie, and the system is seeing it, however Itunes won't offer me the option to burn to the La Cie. It just burns to the Pioneer, then gives me an error saying it can't burn the CD.
