How can I get iTunes to accept my title-free name so I can download apps, etc.?

iTunes refuses to recognize or accept my name/billing address because it has no title. If I add a title, the credit card company will not accept it. Ready to give the iPad away!

Thanks, Skydiver. I've done that, and we are working on it. So far everything deadends at the "This account has not been used on iTunes. Please review your account," or similar. When I don't select a title, it's over, even though the information is all correct. My billing has no title. I can't download anything, and you know everything is tucked away behind that account. I tried to sign up with a new ID, but I am living in a foreign country and must use the same credit card. Not that it matters; all of them have the same name and address, sans title. We'll see.

As polydorus notes, iTunes has the huge shortcoming of not handling FLAC.
There are plugins that allow iTunes to play FLAC, but everything I've seen says they are problematic.
A much better approach is to get a 3rd party conversion program such as Switch and convert the FLAC files to an iTunes-compatible format such as AAC or AIFF.
Put the converted files in your iTunes library, and keep the original FLACs on hand for when you are using a more capable player.

Itunes showes the old names of these Airports but they have been renamed in a newly reconfigured network. Itunes will play through the attached Airport attached speakers. The Airport utility shows the correct new names.

Hi turingtest2 - thanks for the reply. As you say It is how it is - and I have three workstations in this home (not counting three for my children and one for the family) and I pretty much always have more than one OS on each - that's how it is for me. I shouldn't have to worry about how many OSs I have (or how often I change them) just to have music while I'm working - through the PC sound system that is. I never have to worry about any other software, only iTunes. Once in a while (in the past) I've made a vendor call if I changed to many things to often (like CPU, GPU, memory, etc - or even a replacement MB) - but that hasn't happened in a couple years (at least since Vista) so I think (hope) they have fixed that for good. And even then it was a quick call and problem resolved. The only (glaring) constant problem is iTunes - limiting my own use of my own music (by counting an OS as a physical PC). Even with VM (which is just another OS) - although you can Attach things to multiple active OSs - it's still your own (purchased) music - and all on one PC. Thanks again!

I backup everything to an external drive and then I restore only what I want from my backup drive. In iTunes I have renamed a lot of my songs. Last time I cleaned off my mac and restored/reloaded my music I had to rename all those songs again. It took me about 2 weeks to reorganize my music. How do I get iTunes to remember all of those names and keep everything exactly the same when I restore/reload the music into iTunes?

Use Time Machine, backup everything, do the reinstall (I recommend you don't do it) then restore your user folder with Time Machine.

My main question is how do I get it to show me my full album names as in album view? It always shows thumbnails of the albums, seems you don't get another choice for how to view your albums...you're forced into what Apple thinks is great, and these thumbnails only have a max of 9 characters before the rest of the album name is not shown. Quite frustrating.

yeah, I just got this new credit card that I'm trying to use for buying music, but when I go to switch out the info from my old expired card for this one on itunes, in the account billing section, it's refusing to accept the security code/numbers. How do i get itunes to accept my debit card. When i fist made my account everything was fine but after a few purchases it was declined, i have money in my account so i do not know why it would have been declined. My bankacount says it should go through?
