Why do you believe iTunes is causing this to occur?

  • How can I get iTunes to stop trying to connect to the iTunes Store?

So my company decides to cut off my access to the iTunes Store. So I go in to Prefs and turn off all things iTunes Store related. I'm still getting a message saying it can't connect to the iTunes Store. How can I get iTunes to stop trying to connect?

    Disable itunes store in preferences.
It's also possible you have some podcast group trying to connect to iTunes if that's their source. Disable podcasts or at least set preferences to check for podcasts manually.

  • How can I get iTunes to stop downloading iTunes extras with movies?

How can I get Itunes to stop downloading the movie extras?  We never watch them and they are wasting space on my harddrive.  Each time I delete them, Itunes redownloads the extras.

    Thx, and I agree.
I'm selecting that "my question has been answered" here - because the answer is NO. It's apparently not possible. Which is frakkin' ridiculous, and I'd love to be proven wrong. But that's how it appears to be.
What I ended up doing was first backing up all my data by downloading an app called DiskAid (free, Windows and OS X), and actually digging through my iPhone's folder system until I found the right Applications folder, and clicked through each subfolder until I found the Apps whose data I wanted to copy.
For anyone who ever needs to do that, the location is:
    /user/Applications/[long string of numbers]/Documents
I was able to back up my apps on my home computer. So I still am not able to sync up any part of my phone at my work computer, without risking deleting these files. Basically I've minimized the possible damage by making backups.
Whatev. I'll live. : ) Beautiful phone. Just so irritating.

  • How can I get ITunes to stop using 100% of my CPU system resources

When ITunes is up, it uses 100% of my CPU resources, making everything else operate at a snail's pace. I'm not even doing anything with ITunes, but it still seems to hog my machine, a desktop computer running WIndows XP. (When Itunes is closed CPU usage goes down to 4%-25% or thereabouts on average.)
What can I do to stop this? It is very frustrating that Apple would make a program that does this without reason.
    David

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if CPU issue is resolved..
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • How can I get iTunes to stop asking me for my password?

Lately I'm asked to enter my password two or three times every time I open iTunes, and it's getting old. I am an adult and the sole user of this computer so I don't need big brother Apple looking out for me. Just give me something to sign so Apple's lawyers can go screw something else up and leave me alone to enjoy my music. Does anyone have an actual demonstrated working solution, rather than just some pet theory? (I say it this way, because I have tried several suggestions by other posters.. "just log out of iTunes, close the program and then open it and log back in..." and blah, blah blah, and nothing has even made a difference)

I have the exact same problem.  It asks me 3 times before it accepts the bloody password.  It asks me every time I open the program.  It asks me if the program is open and I venture over to their lousy radio feature.  Just leave me logged in for crying out loud.  Pardon my vent.

  • Frequently I will be asked to sign in to my Apple account, but it is using an email I don't use with Apple. How can I get this to stop?

I use an iPod4 Touch and am using IOS 6.1.6. Frequently I will be asked to sign in to my Apple account, but it is using an email I don't use with Apple. How can I get this to stop? This is happening repeatedly throughout the day. I don't have an Apple password for this email address, nor do I want one!

Maybe an App that needs updating was purchased by that account?
Could someone have installed an app not purchased with your account?
Can you post a screen shot of the message?

  • How can I get itunes on my i pad to play single songs in a playlist without stopping it manually?

How can I get itunes on my i pad to play single songs in a playlist without stopping it manually?

To turn on the check marks on, say, 150 consecutive songs in a list, do the following:
Click on the first song in the list.
Scroll to the last (150th) song in the list.
Hold the shift key down while clicking the last song in the list.
All 150 songs will then be highlighted.  Click the check box in one of the 150 songs and all songs will exhibit the same behavior.

I hope it doesn't effect how I down load my itunes to my ipod and iphone.
No you should be fine. (The MobileMe service is being shut down, anyway, so there should be no impact at all.)

Or better yet, create and use new Apple IDs for others in your household. You could always use different Apple IDs for iCloud services (like iMessage and FaceTime) and iTunes and App Store., but it's even easier to share purchased content now with Family Sharing.

  • How do I get iTunes to stop asking me to sign in?

How do I get iTunes to stop asking me to sign in?  I will never buy from iTunes so there is no point in me signing in.  A year ago I bought a couple of albums off iTunes but I was sorely disappointed that I did not have the hard copy and album art in a physical form.  That made me resolve to only buy music (or any content) in solid form and from the artist themselves if possible.  And this is not to mention the proprietary format of iTunes music which basically makes every purchase a lease and not an ownership.  So with that said, it is very annoying that iTunes on start-up asks me to sign in, not once, but TWICE.  For such a little thing, you would think it would be infuriating.  But alas, I'm very tired of being bullied and that is all it is to me.  ITunes is a marketing BULLY.  I'll stop now before I start in on all the explicatives I can think of for iTunes Store.
    CAN ANYONE HELP?

    Try this...
Sign into the iTunes store and View account.
Uncheck Ping (to turn it off).
Also, iTunes prefs > Store. Uncheck Automatic downloads
And this is not to mention the proprietary format of iTunes music
Good thing we don't mention it then because AAC is not proprietary.
which basically makes every purchase a lease and not an ownership.
You mean exactly like when you purchase music on a CD (or from any other online store or source)?
You do own the actual CD, but for the music, all you are purchasing is a license to use it (a lease) in accordance with that license.

If streaming music when connected to your carrier's cellular network, it uses cellular data.
Only the music you purchased from the iTunes Store can be streamed unless you have purchased iTunes Match.
If there is a slow down at the server where the music is stored or high traffic, steaming can be paused. You can also download a song from the iTunes Store cloud to your iPhone so it doesn't need to be steamed.

  • How do i get itunes to stop asking for my password repeatedly?

how do i get itunes to stop asking for my password repeatedly?

The solution (for me at least) is to keep trying the same password  that I know is correct.  For me, the fourth try of typing in the exact same password works in iTunes on my iMac.  I have repeated this several times, and each time it works.
I also reset my password, but the same problem occurs in iTunes.  I have to type in my password four times in iTunes to get it to work.
iTunes is having issues.  I can log in easily on the first attempt every time to post on this message board and I can sign in easily on my iPad 2 to get app updates, but in iTunes on my iMac it takes four attempts and then it works.
Apple needs to release a statement to the public telling people abut this.  For Apple to know that this iTunes problem exists and that it is causing literally thousands of people to be stressed out is callous and uncaring.
