How can i get labview

hello
i got a new pc card computerbards PCI-DAS1602/16 i'm also using
labview 5.1. i loaded the universal library drivers on my machine. My
pc card works fine if i use its own calibration and measuring software
but labview doesn't recognize my card. what can i do?

Hi,
inside MAX they don't appear cause it's not a product of National
Instruments. So take a look at the homepage from the manufacturer of your
PCI-DAS card. Perhaps they offer drivers for LabVIEW. Otherwise you have to
use the driver-DLL directly and make your own VI's around them.

LabVIEW 6.0 to 6.1 is a paid upgrade. You can't get it for free legally.
That said LabVIEW 6.1 is not shipping anymore and you would better
upgrade to 7.1 as that upgrade costs actually the same.

How can I get Labview to interface with Altera PLD?

Hello, I am a student trying to design a Labview interface that will download test data to an Altera EPM7128slc84-7 chip. The chip should process the data and send the results back to Labview for analysis. Is this possible. I am just learning Labview and any help will be appreciated.

This chip is mounted on a what is called an Altera education board. There are a number of external access points where i can hardwire from this board to a DAQ board associated with Labview...the DAQ board is on a similar set up......I think I can use the digital i/o ports to send and receive data. I think I have made the problem harder than what it is.. Like I said, I am just learning Labview and its pretty much trial and error for now...Thanks for the advice though!

How can I get LabVIEW 7.1 to spawn/run another windows program that normally runs standalone?

I have numerous sensor devices, pressure, temperature, particle size, mass air flow, etc all contained in a process used for testing various filters in a lab environment. Most of the hardware came with drivers and programs where the user can run the stand-alone program and communicate, serially, with the devices, set parameters, receive data and graph same. However, my customer wishes to have LabVIEW control all of the programs. Is there a way to have LabVIEW spawn another executable?

Yes, there are VIs for acquiring data from Sound cards. And examples too. If you don't have LabVIEW yet, do a search on NI's site for example VIs.

The Read from Clipboard method is, unfortunately, limited to text. If the clipboard contains an image then you need to use OS-specific functions calls. This is an example program for Windows. It's old, but it should still work.

You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

How can I get the source code of a labviw vi.

The LabVIEW block diagram is the source code.
It is compiled through the LabVIEW environment into a format suitable for running.
It does not go through an interim conversion to another language before it gets compiled, so
there is no other source code. The actual vi breaks down into 4 parts :
Front panel
Block diagram
Code (diagram compiled to machine code)
Data (control and indicator values, default data, diagram constant data, and so on)

The tool is called the "application builder".
What is does is turn your vi into an .exe that can be run on another computer. It even lets you create an install version, so you can "profesionally" distribute your work.

Well, you say xy graph, so this might be a more complicated problem.
For a waveform graph it's trivial. Simply get the two cursor indices (property: cursor index) and apply them to array subset of the data. Is that all you need?
Here's how the above code would look like. using cursor.index instead of cursor.x elimnates the need to include scaling information.
For an xy graph, there could be multiple segments (e.g. imagine a spiral that passes the desired x range multiple times from both sides). This would neeed significantly more code for a general solution.

You must have a pretty old version of LabVIEW if you need a session ID instead of just a VISA Resource. If that's the case, you need to first use an VISA Open function in which you specify a resource name of GPIB::18. The open function will return a unique ID that you wire to either VISA Write/Read or a subVI in a driver.

If they are equally spaced, just adjust offset and multiplier, and axis label.
If they are randomly spaced you are probably looking for an X-Y graph. Check the shipping examples.
