recently got a iphone 4. The battery lasts 4-8 hours between charges, even when I'm not using the phone. The phone also gets hot. I tried turning off most apps. Suggestions?

My guess is you want to upgrade HR8.3 to 9.2 - and that is not one jump upgrade. You will need to go HRMS 83 to 90

1) There is a max $50 in stolen dollars.
2) It is easy to dispute a charge. You call the credit card company. Complain. They call the retailer & refund you the money.

Additional details:
- I have the latest iOS
- Not jailbroken
- The speaker doesn't have a "battery indicator" on it

this is not a build in part of any bluetooth profiles so to get that feature one needs third party software from the maker of the bluetooth device installed on the device in question

How can I get Numbers to retain last opened position across my devices?

I am a regular user of Numbers on my iMac (mid-2010), my iPad v3 and iPhone 5s.
Ever since Mavericks came in and the many iWork updates that happened alongside it I have been unable to keep the same cell position in sync across my devices. So when opening one of my main spreadsheets it always opens at the top and I always have to scroll down to update my data.
I don't remember this being a problem between iOS devices before that, it always went to the correct location. Until Mavericks I didn't sync with the Mac version as it was too clunky. They did a great job of fixing the sync part but lost this feature.
Hope this makes sense. To summarise, my use case is that I open a large spreadsheet on any device to update it but it does not take me to my last entry, it goes to the top of the spreadsheet. That is not helpful to me, I want the last entry point regardless of idevice used to access it.

I downloaded the iWork 08 trial on August 10th, 2007 and today, August 24th, I tried to use it, but iWork says, "Your 30-day trial is over."
I love it, so I went to order it online, but I would like the family pack, which is not available for download, and I would like to use iWork while I wait.
Is there anything that I can do to get the trial to run its full 30-day course while I wait for my family pack?

iWork writes some preference files in your "/Library/Preferences" folder on Your Startup Disk and in the "~/Library/Preferences" folder in Your user folder. If you delete the preference files (look for files which begin with "com. apple.iwork...") the applications should work again.

How can I get my iPhone to ring longer on a calendar alarm?

My old phone used to ring an alarm on a calendar alert forever until I opened it. My new iPhone beeps once, that's it. If I can't program it to ring longer, can you guys at Apple add this as and upgrade? Anybody else want this?

I feel Apple has TOTALLY missed the obvious on this one. I is so bad that I am seriously considering going back to my E61. I, and every one I know professionally, uses this along with Outlook/Entourage to track their busy life. I have missed several meetings because of this. Our management considered migrating to the iPhone vs. the Blackberry until they learned this. The lack of the ability to change the alert and the single bleep-bleep has cost Apple at least 50 sales in my department along. Come on Apple, you already make users pay a premium for the phone, lock it to one carrier and prevent power users from unleashing the true power of BSD. For all this pain you would think it would at least be functional for us business users. While I am unleashing on Apple, I get very irritated when my cheek activates the speaker phone or keypad when I am talking. How about leveraging the accelerometer to disable these functions when the phone is in use and a call is in progress? Unless I am missing some setting, this shows the lack of consumer testing Apple did before releasing the phone. I expect this from Microsoft, not Apple.

How can I get my e-mail to update between phone and iCloud

Thanks to help of randers4 I was able to get iCloud installed on my computer with Vista operating system. Now my dilema is that everything there is updating, except for my e-mail. I created an iCloud e-mail account, but don't plan on using it. I want to use my established e-mail address, not the iCloud e-mail. Also I noticed when I was setting up iCloud on the computer , when the iCloud screen showimg Mail, Contacts, etc. it showed Internet Explorer. We have Firefox, does that make a difference.
Also, I had downloaded ringtones from ITunes on my iPhone 4 which my husband now has. Is there a way for me to get those same ringtones on my iPhone 5c without repurchasing them?

You can use a different email account, but it will not appear on icloud.com as iCoud only hosts iCloud email. Just add your account to the email client on your PC as you would any other email account. To add the account on your iOS devices (iPhone), go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account, choose your provider and provide your account details.
You can't redownload purchased ringtones from iCloud for free but you can sync them to your 5c using iTunes. To do so, connect your iPhone 4 to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. Then go to the Tones folder of your iTunes library and confirm that the ringtones appear there. (If you don't see the Tones folder, go to Edit>Preferences>General and make sure Tones is checked in the Show options.)
Then connect your 5c to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to the Tones folder of your iTunes sync settings, then check Sync Tones and click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.

I'm being charged TWICE for one purchase, how can I get my money back for that second charge?

I bought an album and two songs which added up to about $13 and I went to check my credit card account and saw that itunes is charging me twice for that same thing along with an extra $1 for something else. One of the transactions is on 11/05/11 while the other one is on 11/07/11 and I only bought the album and songs once and I haven't bought anything else since then. I emailed them about it and they think it's an unauthorized purchase when it isn't I know that I bought the songs but they're charging me twice for that one thing. I've called them and they all said that I have to go to the customer services and that's didn't help so what do I do to get my money back?
This also happened before where they charged me twice but it was just 2 bucks so it was a big deal but this time it's almost $14 and I want that money back.

when i got my ipod touch, it said in the manual or something, the battery life of the ipod depletes every time you charge it or something, & that you can pay to have it replaced (This would probably happen a long long time after you bought the ipod touch).
But can you make the battery life last longer, if you keep it connected to the charger.
p.s i have a charger connected to the mains, so i dont need to keep my pc on all the time.

If, for example, you charge a battery only 5%, it only counts as 5% of one cycle. The batteries in the iPod will do about 400 cycles before they are down to about 80% of their original capacity. So even after a year or so of heavy use you'll still have plenty of time.
It's important for the electrons in a Lithium battery to be kept moving. As such Apple recommend that at least once a month you do a full charge/discharge cycle to keep all the electrons in the battery moving:
