How can i get my ipad and iphone calendars to sync?

my ipad and iphone calendars used to sync fine but recently they stopped syncing. i haven't changed a thing so i don't even know how to begin fixing the problem.
everything gets backed up into icloud and connecting the ipad and iphone to my laptop for sycing hasn't resolved the issue.
my default email is a gmail account (calendar), which has been from the beginning; however, i have an icloud account on both devices, and i use the same apple id on all devices and itunes. in the past anything i would input into my gmail calendar on any computer would sync with my ipad and iphone, but no longer!! what happened????? right now all calendars are independent of one another; anything i input into my gmail calendar doesn't show on my ipad or iphone calendar or vice versa.
i have checked my ipad and iphone section by section to ensure everything is the same, and it is.
i am sooo frustrated right now somebody please help me to resolve this problem.

The first step in troubleshooting this is to determine which of your devices are not syncing with iCloud. To do this, add a new event on your iPad calendar and see if it appears on your calendar on icloud.com. Do the same thing on your iPhone and in Outlook. When you do this, which device is not syncing new events to the calendar on icloud.com?

As James says, make sure that you are using the IMAP servers for your email. You will need to check the help pages for your email provider to get the correct settings in all your devices. POP really doesn't fit the needs of todays mutiple access, always on internet, so you are better off moving to IMAP.

I have my sister in law's email and phone number all in the same contact. She iMessages me from both her iPad and her phone. They come up as two different iMessage conversations, but they both are under her name. When I go to text her I don't know if I'm sending it to her iPhone or iPad. Try scrolling to the top of the conversation and tapping Contact. You will then see the originating address highlighted in blue on the contact. If the iPad and iPhone are creating two different conversations, chances are if the email address is highlighted it's coming from the iPad; if the phone number is highlighted it's coming from the iPhone (although not necessarily). To know for sure you would have to ask her to check Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and tell you which is checked under "Start new conversations from" on both devices to know for sure.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Yes, that's correct, it won't affect your account or your devices in any way.
Use the delete account button in the iCloud settings.
Then enter her iCloud details in the new screen that appears and log in. She should then be returned to the screen above but with her Apple ID at the top, enable the services she wishes to use and then tap the storage & backup option and ensure that iCloud backup is turned on.

If you are running Lion then all drivers are distributed through Software Update. You do not need to install anything, other than to install the printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan. If you already added the printer while it was connected using USB, you might want to delete it and set it up again wirelessly to avoid confusion. Or, give them two distinct names e.g. "Photosmart D110 (USB)" and "Photosmart D110 (wireless)".
All scanning functions are now performed using Preview, but you can also access the scanner through the same Print & Scan preference pane, or with Image Capture.
