Are you running iOS 5 on the iPad? If so, on your computer log in to http://icloud.com and click on iWork. Click the gear icon on the upper right, and click upload document. Once uploaded, it should automatically download to your iPad.
If you don't know what version of iOS you are running, go to Settings > General > About > Software Version.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
There is also CopyPod. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer. -
I accidentally deleted all the songs that were on my Itunes on my computer. I am afraid to sync my phone for fear of loosing them. How do I get them back on Itunes? Note: I cannot find them anywhere else on my computer either.

How can I get the Airplay to appear on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2?
I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S, and I have never seen the Airplay button that should appear on each device. I have checked wifi and it seems to works fine for printer and e-readers. Also, I have updated to the latest OS version as of this week. Is it possible to get to appear now? I want to use iPad in my classroom, so I need this feature to function. Thanks!
The Airplay icon only appears if there's an Airplay enabled device that the iPhone or iPad can find in the same network, or connected via bluetooth.

How can I get my books that I download from the Library that are WMA files into my I tunes so I can listen to them. They have a ton of books but I can only listen to them from my windows media player and I wouldlove to download to my I pod but I have tried everything I can think of it they won't go over. Someone said all I had to do was copy them over and they would convert but I can't even get them to copy. Thanks.
Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software! -
I have 2 games Words with Friends and Cityville that receives a Pop-up message form iTunes... "Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications" and will not allow me to exit out of the app or play. How can I get this message to STOP?
Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either. Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

Recently I updated to Maverick -- I also updated Numbers, Pages and Keynote. NOW, I cannot open my pages documents. I get a message that I need a newer version of Pages. I have the newest version (5.2). How do I get around this to view my documents?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

How can I get rid of that annoying white circle in that black square
Since Oct. 7 last I have a 5S. Before had a 4S. About 4S no complaints, so the 5S maybe faster, better cam and so on but what I really hate it that stupid white circle in a black square you can move around on your screen. However when you want to open, for instance <messages> and that white circle is very near, messages will not be opened but a uselless black sub scrn with favorites, Siri, Device, Home. How can I get rid of that or delete or move it, it will no longer be visible on my scrn.
Yes, you are right. I must have done it myself during the first days while exploring the many options after the initial set up was done. On the 4S, I still have, and also running under OS7, it was disabled that's why I thought it was default in the 5S; wrong thinking. Thanks a lot for your great help.

I lost my iTunes library on my pc when the hard drive crashed. None of the data on the drive was recoverable and I did not have a backup either locally or on the cloud. Much of the music is from old vinyl and podcasts which are no longer available.
How can I get the music that resides on my ipod nano (4th generation) back onto the new hard drive on my pc.
I have been reluctant to install iTunes on the new hard drive out of fear that I will lose all the contents on the ipod if I try to synch to the new hard drive.

I am using an Macbook pro in conjunction with a Time Capsule. I back up all my aperture librarys on it, but how can i view these images that are stored on the capsule please ??
If you want to see what is in a file that is backed up by time machine then you have to restore the entire file. Having said that I have had good experience with Time Machine and individual files... if the file is there then all of it's components are almost for sure there. A way to get around this in Aperture would be to use referenced images. The images then still exist as individual files and can be backed up and restored individually. You would have to do so on a file by file basis though and your album information would still only be saved within the Aperture library.

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.
