i go to the control panel on windows and then i go to sound and then to recording and look for a microphone and there is none

I have a windows laptop, and I plugged in the 3.5 mm jack for the microphone, and it works fine. If I go on my mac, and I plug in the correct plugs the the correct locations, it wont work. I have selected it in settings, and looked at the volume and gain. It wont work on Lion. I am using a 2008 iMac with 4gb of ram, and it is running mountain lion. How can I fix this?

You can't use Aperture 2 with Yosemite. Only Aperture 3.6 will work.
Either buy the Aperture 3.6 upgrade from the App Store, or downgrade again, if you have a full backup of your system: OS X Mavericks: Revert to a previous OS X version
The last compatibility upgrade for Aperture 2 has been for MacOS X 10.6.8. All later MacOS X version had compatibility issues with Aperture 2.

I have a creative inspire 5. 5700 hooked up to my X-FI extreme music via Digital I/O port.
However im a bit pissed off because i cant get a microphone to work, it seems that the port i use my speakers for is the same port as the microphone..
Any ideas how to get my mic to work without unplugging the digital I/O?

Unfortunately those are the only ways I know of. The X-Fi Xtreme Music does not hook into normal front panel solutions.

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

As AT&T has not officially unlocked your phone it must have been hacked to use another carrier. So when you updated it has relocked itself to AT&T. There is no official unlock so this will happen anytime you update.

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right? If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

I dont have Prokit 4.0.1 if you are referring to that, do I need this first? Please explain what application name I am looking for if other than Prokit which is sitting in my "download folder" do I need to manually put it into the apps folder? How can I get my speaker to work again? I've tried turning my phone off and on, hard reset, removing SIM, cleaning out dust, using the hair dryer, network reset, cleaning headphone port, made sure the phone was not on vibrate,and made sure "Change with buttons" was on. There was no liquid/moisture damage. I was watching a video on youtube and all of a sudden my speaker went out. If I tap on the speaker it goes in and out but does not stay on/loud.

Do you get sound in any apps e.g. in Music and Videos but not notifications or sound in other apps ? If you do get sound in Music and Videos then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. If you don't get sound in any apps then have you could try a soft-reset to see if you get sound after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
