How can I get my movie to play that I downloaded from my ipad to my pc? It will play the bonus features, scene selection etc but not the movie
I bought some movies from iTunes to put on my ipad. I stored them in icloud and downloaded them to my pc. problem is that although the bonus features etc will play on the pc, the actual movie won't! What should I do??
What happens when you try to play the actual film ? And have you tried deleting them and (assuming that they're still in the store) redownloading them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page - or going into Edit > Preferences and on the Store tab ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box so that they show in the My Movies part of your library with a cloud icon against it for redownloading) ?
(You can't store films in the cloud, whether they will show there for redownloading depends upon what country that you are in - and if you move countries or if the rights-holder removes them then you also won't be able to redownload them. Ideally you'd be taking a backup copy of all of your downloads, and not relying on being able to redownload them in the future.)

This is entirely my complaint.
I have to sit without useable internet for 5 days when there is no fault, before anyone does anything about it ? BT visit the village to do something for another customer, mess up my perfectly working broadband, and then refuse to do anything about it for 5 days. And I pay full price during that time. There isn't a fault with the line, it is perfectly stable. I just need somebody to use common sense and set the IP profile back to what it was.
If the system is so clever, it could at least try moving off 135k to 512k say after an hour or so.

Make sure iTunes on the computer is logged into the account on the phone.
Plug the iPhone in.
In the popup window warning about wiping your phone, hit cancel.
In the left pane of iTunes, the phone icon should be there.
Right click on it, select transfer purchases.
Note: this will only transfer music bought from iTunes. Not mp3's from amazon or ripped from CD's. -

How can I get variable playback rates for podcasts/audiobooks downloaded from iTunes?
When I download a podcast from the iTunes Store, say Criminal or 99% Invisible, it shows up on my iPod Touch 4G just as a regular song as part of an album--it's not classified as a podcast episode and there's no way to speed it up. When downloading Serial episodes from the Serial site, however, it came with the 2x/.5x speed options, which is extremely useful for me. I tend to download the episodes directly to my computer and then add them to my iPod Touch via MediaMonkey, so I'm not sure what the difference is. With audiobooks, I have to manually change the genre to audiobook and then add to my iPod via iTunes to have the variable rates, so it's really quite a hassle. Is there any way to make this more efficient?
If you want to access the variable playback rates then the media must be transferred such that its media kind is either podcast or audiobook. I've just tried moving an mp3 audiobook file over to my iPad using MediaMonkey and it has ended up in the right section of the device's library so it must be possible. My understanding is that media kind is a private iTunes property, not stored in the tag, so perhaps MediaMonkey has used Genre to decide which part of the iPad library it should add the file to.

What version of iTunes are you running on your computer? You need to update to the current version.

It is always a useful precaution to make manual bookmarks backups

The above article also explains about the autobookmark backups that firefox generates, but be sure to make manual backups as you work, it is very easy to overwrite the wrong set of backups.
I am not entirely certain what firefox is doing in your case, perhaps the synced Netbook does not have the expected set of bookmarks on it.
Presumably sync may be uninstalled or disabled like any other add-on

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu. I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine. The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day. I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen. Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal. When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend. I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library. Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed. Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto? If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above. Otherwise, good luck with your investigations. I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

How can I get rid of old books that I have deleted from my device but still shows up as "purchased books" on "Icloud". I don't want to see some of these books at all. Nooooooo! lol... If I want to download again I will, I don't want an electronic trail. Plus when I have Ibooks open, sometimes I will accidently hit the item and it will immediatly try to download it. The problem with that is that its "Time magazines Best Photos of 2012" etc and it locks up my IPAD cuz of sheer size of the book. So I would like it gone from the history. Isn't there a way to clear the history?
