I just got the new iphone 4S and when I plug it into my mac to sync, its not being recognized in "Devices" in itunes, for me to sync. How can I get itunes to find the iphone thats connected?

Stedman1 is right. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com and follow the prompts for iPhone. That's how you can contact Apple either by phone or by Genius Bar appointment for service or replacement. Your phone has a one-year warranty on it, so none of the 5s are out of warranty yet.
By the way, you don't need to restore as new multiple times. That doesn't do anything different than the first time.

If it's under warranty, make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for them to have a look at. If there is no Apple store in your area, call AppleCare and explaing the problem. If Apple only sells through the carriers in your country, take it to your carrier for service. If it came from another country (The EU is considered 'one country' for warranty purposes) then take it back to the country where it was originally sold for service.

Apple's documentation doesn't mention this as far as I can see: however it's correct that subscribed calendars could not be viewed on MobileMe (though they did sync to other devices: however it would seem that what was synced was the details of the subscription, not the calendar itself, so that effectively the other device just subscribed to the calendar afresh).
I think that, subject to correction from someone who's managed to do this it's a safe assumption to say that you cannot view subscribed calendars on the iCloud website, and that this is very likely a limitation of the CalDAV process.

i had the same problem yesterday..no "ipod" thing to click on in the left column (devices). what i did was delete my itunes account completely...(it had been inactive for almost a year). then i just re-downloaded it, which took some time...i had to retry like 10 times?? then there it was in the device column!! and all my songs there! hope this helps

Try updating it on your computer. If you get a message that your iPhone is up to date then you actually have an iPhone 4, not a 4s.

Was your cracked screen fixed by an Authorized Apple Service Provider? I may be wrong, but I didn't think they fixed such things.
Regardless of who fixed it, and whether it was an authorized repair or not, I recommend bringing it back to the agency that fixed it in the first place. But note if the repairing agency is not authorized by Apple, you may not want to spend much more money on repairs there for this unit.
