How can I get my new phone to sync with iTunes

My husband got a new iPhone and we share a computer, we figured out how to create a new library but the new library does not recognize the phone in order to sync it. How can we get the new library to sync with his phone?

Thanks for you suggestion roaminggnome. I tried typing in 13019 like you said and it gave me a few options to try and fix it but none of them worked (of course). I fiddled around with it for a while some more on my own and some how got it to work again, lol. Thanks again though for offering a solution.

If you don't have a 2nd device available which is already setup with your Sync account, pairing can't be done.
In order to set up a '''new device''' when you can't "pair", you need three things; the user account name ''(email address used)'', the password for the account, and the '''Sync Key'''.
If you didn't make a copy of the Sync Key as prompted at the end of the Sync set up process, you can't successfully setup a new device and won't be able to recover your data.

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

How can I get a new phone while under a contract?

I got my iPhone 5c in December 2013 and had to get the screen replaced about 4 months ago. It was not fixed by apple. 2 months ago it dropped again and only the top of the phone smashed, though there were no problems and the camera could still be used as well as the screen could still be seen clearly. I am in a 12 month contract and pay $90 a month for my plan. I need to get a new phone, mine won't even let me touch the screen and when it does unlock, I'm lucky to have a minute to try to do what I need before it glitches and begins pressing its own buttons and opening its own apps. Much like the act of putting your old chumbawumba cd in a box in the attic to make space on your shelf for newer and better music, you should cleanse your iphone of old music files regularly. Songs aren't gone forever, you can still dust them off and listen to them later if the mood strikes.
Open settings click general>usage>storage>music>edit
Then delete all locally stored music
If your in the mood you can always download that catchy "I get knocked down, but I get up again... You ain't ever gonna keep me down" track and rock out like its 1998 (or whenever that **** song came out)

iCloud for email is not on my Mac. It should be under Internet and wireless in System Preferences but it is not. Basically I am trying to get iCloud running successfully on my Mac for email and Calendar so that it will sync with my iPad and iPhone. I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works. Is anyone else having problems like this? All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one computer/iTunes library at a time. That is, unless you manually manage the iPod's contents. See this article for more details.

Otherwise, if you want to continue autosyncing your iPod with iTunes, you'll want to copy everything currently on the iPod to your new iTunes library and then choose the Erase and Sync option or hit the Restore button from under the iPod's Summary tab to allow your Nano to start syncing content from the new library.

I just bought the new Panasonic SDR-SW20 and it doesn't work with a Mac.
At least that is what I read at amazon.com.
The file types it records in are .MOD files. Can these be converted?
And if they can, how do I do that and what program do I need?
Could someone maybe explain to me how I can get it to work with iMovie?

Hi Sandy,
Yes, you bought the wrong format of cam for working easily with iMovie HD6. Your cam records in MPEG2, which will need to be converted to DV for use in iMovie. You might want to read what the following page says about that cam's format.

It doesn't give a good review of the video quality and that will only get worse with the conversion necessary to work with it in HD6. If returning the cam for something more suitable is possible, unless you have bought this solely for its underwater capabilities, that might be your best bet. The best cam for use with iMovie HD versions is a miniDV cam using firewire, to capture to your Mac.
If you want to persue the workarounds, you will need to get MPEGStreamclip (free-Google it) and the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 plug-in (cost $20.00), available at the Apple downloads site.

I downloaded a free book to my MBP. When I attempt to sync it with my iPhone, there is a black horizontal line at the bottom of the book that does not go away. The book will not open on my iPhone, and I am not able to delete it. I have deleted the book from books library on my computer, and reinstalled it, but am still not able to get it to open. I don't see any issues with other users of this book, they have nothing but glowing things to say about the book.
