How can I get my new wireless keyboard and track pad set up?
I just bought a new mac mini, wireless keyboard and trackpad. Do I still need a wired keyboard and mouse to get the thing set up? Trackpad seems to be working as I can move around the screen but I can't click where I need to click to move onto the next step...

Just bought a new mac mini, wireless keyboard, and track pad. My track pad will not synch. All advise I have been given is to change items in the setting menu, but I cant because I still have to get through the setup!!
The power button for the Trackpad is on the right hand end of the battery case. Press that button to initiate the pairing process. On the top of the Trackpad just above the power button is a tiny green light (you probably cannot see it unless it is lighted). That light will indicate ehther or not the Trackpad is discoverable. If the Trackpad has discoverable the green light will blink on and off. If it does not pair within 3 minutes you will have to press the power button again to re-initiate the pairing process. Once your Trackpad has paired, you can just leave it on and it will pair automatically when you reboot your Mac.
If you are having problems pairing, try turning off any other Bluetooth devices within 30 or so feet of your Mac mini. That includes other Computers, iPhones, iPads, etc. that may be in the area. Once your Trackpad has pairedwith your mini, you don't have to be concerned about other Bluetooth devices.
One other hint, I find that although the Wireless Trackpad does not eat batteries as fast as the Magic Mouse it still uses more than the Wireless Keyboard. It is a good idea to keep a supply of AA batteries around. I have used Apple's Rechargable batteries, but found they did not last that long before needing to be recharged. I have had the best battery life from Duracell Quantum batteries. -
I have an Imac in my bedroom and apple tv hooked to my big screen in my living room. When I select mirror Imac on the Imac to view on the big screen in living room, can I get a wireless keyboard and track pad to control Imac from living room?
I do something like that, and can confirm 20 feet won't be a problem. More than 30 or so might be.

My iMac was off during a recent thunderstorm. When I power up the computer all is fine. However the wireless keyboard and track pad are not recognized by the computer. Their power lights blink twice, go off, then blink again. Any suggestions?
Turned out that I had to disconnct the keyboard from the new iMac in order to show in the old iMac.

After waking my Mac from sleep it does not recognize the wireless keyboard and track pad. OS 10.7.5.
Does your iMac recognize any other BT devices? For example a trackpad, or a wireless mouse?
Also, check Applications -> Utilities -> Console and look for bluetooth messages. -

Isn't there a wireless keyboard with built in track pad available for the macbook. Seems to me that there should be - or is my only option to get the keyboard, the track pad and the extra thingy that joins them together? Basically, if iam opening an email in gmail it opens a tab for the email or if I am typing a password it opens documents. Trackpad and keyboard keys opening things I did not open. Please help. I've restarted twice and it isn't helping. I've replaced batteries. Thinking it's internal and not the keyboard or track pad. thank you.
Sorry it is hard to explain. I am working form my laptop bc I can't get anywhere on internet bc of keys and trackpad or open anything I want to open.
If I press anything on the dock it takes me to finder window. It lets me open from finder window

Should I have purchased a wired keyboard?
First make sure the batteries aren't dead and that the keyboard hasn't already been paired with another device. If it hasn't, the keyboard should pair automatically when you reboot. You may have to press and hold the power button on the right side of an Apple keyboard until the LED starts flashing.

Losing bluetooth connection with keyboard and track pad
Every few minutes, I lose the connection between my wireless keyboard and track pad and the computer. Since its happening simultaneously, I don't think its an issue with either the trackpad or keyboard but bluetooth. I've tried turning my computer off and unplugging it and no dice. Its a real productivity kill right now. HELP!!!
Hey all - thanks. I've tried swapping batteries and my battery power is 100%. I've turned the computer off completely and back on. I've even unplugged it and turned off the keyboard and track pad.
My computer will not let me turn Bluetooth off. It give me a warning sign that I won't be able to use the computer and the only option is ok.
I'm also not having any luck finding out the RSSI levels to see if there's any interference. As far as I know, there are only three devices via blue tooth and I turned off one (my iPhone) and the only other two are the track pad and keyboard.
When I try to follow the RSSI instructions, the option - click doesn't do anything. Very frustrated and thinking I'll need to schedule time with Apple. Today has been very frustrating. -
How do I get past the login screen to pair my new wireless keyboard and trackpad when the old ones are water damaged and don't work
Have you tried pulling the batteries out of the damaged ones so that they are completely off; then shutdown your Mac Mini via the power button on the back right. Turn on your new keyboard and trackpad then power your Mini back up? The auto detection should find your new keyboard and trackpad.

I don't know how you have a Tape Recorder icon on your Home Screen. I cannot add one myself. But, I am running Holo Launcher in replacement of the default LG "Optimus" User Interface. It's much better in my opinion.
Try long pressing the icon and select Edit and maybe you can change some attribute of the icon.
Another thing you could do, is long-press an empty area of your desktop, to add an icon. Select Shortcut, then Select Contact, and scroll through your contact list and choose the contact that you added for *86.
You realize if you have voice mail you haven't heard, there is a tape recorder icon in the notification bar, which you touch and pull down, then press it to dial voicemail.
If that functionality doesn't work, you MIGHT want to consider doing a factory data reset on your device, but that is going to nuke all your personalizations and cause you work to set up again. -
I had renamed my user login name and assumed that there will be no change in the settings and files. When I login with the new profile name everything is gone. How can I get back all my files and settings? Please help. Thanks.
