How can I get my wired LAN to share my iMac's wireless internet connection

Hi. (sorry for the long-winded posting below. I really struggled to explain what I'm trying to do, but would really appreciate any help from people who can recognise what I'm aiming for!)
I've seen several postings about sharing internet connection, but none (I think) which sort my problem.
I have a wired LAN with 3 Macs connected to a router, and the router to a cable modem and the internet. All working fine. All Macs have internet access.
I'm considering ditching my broadband provider, and so looking for a replacement configuration, at least for the short term.
So, I'd like to change the arrangement, connecting one of the Macs to the internet (through a local free WIFI hotspot) using it's airport card (that bit is done) and enable the other two Macs to share that connection via the router.
I've turned internet sharing on, and share connection from Built-In ethernet, on the internet connected Mac. But whatever
Has anyone got this setup working?

You can share a connection through the router or you can share a connection from the Mac via Internet Sharing, but you can't share an already shared connection.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

Please do Not type in ALL CAPITALS. It is considered shouting in online communications. Now, in System Preferences, click on "Sound", and in that window click on the "Input" tab shown below. Then in the list below that click on "Line In." That will activate the Audio Line-In Port.

Lack of these options must be an oversite and hopefully an update will soon be comming out implement these quick features across the board on all apple devices?!?! Until then - any ideas?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

When I upgraded the OS on my IPad I got Game Center, like everyone else.
I cannot get to my games if I don't have an internet connection. I use my Ipad to play VERY often without a internet connection and PAID for apps that I could use that way.
I am VERY VERY disattified with this and will tell all those that ask me in airports every week that I DO NOT recommend this product if I cannot play my games without having an internet connection.
BTW, that FORCED application thing is annoying enough, but forced sign in is even more. I JUST want to play my games on my Ipad, I should not have to bother with sign in even when I DO have a connection.

Nvm I figured it out. Very stupid! Recently changed my password and game center will still run eventhough you didn't change the password for game center as well. Simply restarted my iPhone and everything is fine. Just wish there would have been some sort of notification when I first accessed game center after changing my Apple ID password.

Anyway - since you are running Mountain Lion, you already have "Find my Mac" installed. This will also locate your iPhone, if you enable "Find my iPhone" on your phone.
To enable "Find my Mac" open the System Preferences and go to the iCloud panel. Sign into iCloud and enable "Find my Mac" by pressing the button beside the icon.

iTunes won't recognize a computer as a device in iTunes.
Are you running iTunes on the iMac?
Have you copied over all your data from old computer to the iMac?

How can I make the best of my ipod touch screen with no internet connection??

I've been offered an ipod touch screen last Christmas and it's only a week ago that I took it out of its box. I still can't figure out how to transfer my music library from my laptop to the ipod. But I've installed some apps thinking I would be able to listen to my favourite radio station and play some games wherever I go and to my disappointment nothing's working if not connected to an internet connection. I thought an ipod was an improved walkman and actually it is nothing but a device that should be connected to the internet to work.
Considering that I don't have a free internet connection to the internet on my mobile phone, I was just wondering wht's the purpose to have an ipod? I really consider to go back to my old walkman... Thank you for your comments to help me to make the best of my Christmas present.

The message you are getting is saying that the iPod was previous synced to another computer. You can only sync with one computer. If you sync to another computer then the iPod media from the iPod get erased (as the message says) and is replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the second computer.
Syncing means copying (syncing) media from your iTunes library to your computer)
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
For not showing in iTunes:
- Try entering the screen lock passcode on your iPod if not done already
- Go to Windows Device Manager and see if there is any problems/unknown devices
- Can you not import photos from a digital camera? The iPod appears in My Computer like a camera does.

I run Firefox on a server to display graphs for a program. I was able to save, upload and install Firefox version 21 on my server because it used the executable installation program. Versions 22 and 23 use a stub program that goes to the internet and installs the program. My server does not have an internet connection, so the stub program does not work. Can I get a copy of the executable program that installs the program without having an internet connection?

Incorrect. I took a new, never before opened Airport Express to Japan with me. I configured it with the aforementioned Airport Utility which I had downloaded to my iPad before I left. It took lestt then 5 minutes to set up.

I just came home from the Apple store with a brand new iMac Duo 2 Core machine. I was told at the store that any of my stuff in Classic mode is history and can't be used on the new iMac but I know that someone out there has figured a way to get Clarisworks/Apleworks documents in a new Intel Mac and are at this moment working with their docs. I would ask the question in the Appleworks forum.
However, if your old Mac runs OS X, get Appleworks 6.2.9 and save all your files in the OS X version. Then install 6.2.9 on the Intel and transfer the files.

How can I get a 320kbps mp3 using "share to iTunes" without normalizing in Logic Pro X?

After importing and editing an mp3 file in Logic Pro X, I want to simply "share to iTunes" and get a 320kbps mp3 without normalization but I can't figure out how to do this without normalizing. With Garageband, it's simple; but with Logic Pro X, I can't figure it out.

I see, I am sticking with Logic 9 for the time being. I thought Logic X has a share to iTunes feature, are you saying the format you want to use isn't available there? Also, In Logic-9, Bounce has the feature "Add to iTunes Library" this allows 320kbps Mp3 files with or without normalization sent to the iTunes library. Have you opened the Bounce dialog to check it out?
Also note that iTunes has several settings that affect sound of audio, you want those off is you want to hear audio as it actually is.
iTunes Preferences/Playback Sound Enhancer and Sound Check should be disabled.

Easiest (and free) way is to get a gmail account with google and use the same account on both devices. You can also sync a computer calendar like iCal to the same google account - one calendar (or several, as a gmail account allows multiple calendars) all sync'd to many devices.
If you use Outlook at work, you can also use the free google app "calendar sync to sync to and from your outlook calendar and your google calendar.

In Mail, select the email so it is displayed, then hold down Command and press the = key. This should enlarge the view on-screen of the message. This is a step-increase - do it twice and it will get even larger. You can reduce it back by holding down Command and pressing the - key.
The same key-press instructions work in Safari and most browsers.
In Lion and Safari, if you are using a Magic Mouse you can also do a double-tap on the surface of the mouse with one finger - this should enlarge the view. A second double-tap will reduce it back to normal. Note that this is a double-tap, not a double-click.
In all apps you can also hold down the Control key and use the scroll-up and scroll-down gesture on a Magic Mouse - the view will zoom and return accordingly.
