How can I get photos edited in iPhoto to update previously uploaded images in photo stream?

As soon as I import photos to iPhoto on my mac they upload to photostream, which is great, exept when I edit them (for example to remove red eye) they don't update on the photostream so when I look on my iPad they are the origanal photos. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of refreshing the pictures on the photostream with the latest edit. I have tried editing the photostream version but it takes me to the version in my iPhoto library which has already been edited. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You can't do this.
Photostream is simply - and only - a replacement for importing. Once the file is imported them that's it. Photstream has no further role.

  • How Can I Get Text Edit To Restore It's Previous Work Space?

I was having some buggy behavior on my MBP, and finally had to do a fresh install of OSX.
I was using 10.8.2 on the old setup, and the same now in the fresh install.
In order to NOT import any settings that were causing the bad behavior, I only migrated in my Applications.
On my old system, (before the fresh install) when I quit TextEdit I did not have to save any of the open docs, they would just be there as I left them restored when I relaunched it.
Now when I try to quit it asks me if I want to save the untitled docs, or lose them.
And now, when I launch the app, it opens a new blank text window.
I would really like TextEdit to automatically open all the previously opened documents, and not ask to save them.
    Any advice?

It was staring me, well, in the face.
    System Preferences: General
I'm actually kinda' embarrased... But then again, no one else had the answer either!
As a side note, the way I got to finally figuring it out, was when I launched Safari directly, it would restore the previous workspace.
But, when Safari would launch from a link in Mail, it would only open that single page, and I had to restore the workspace manually.
I then realized it was more system wide, which lead me to System Preferences!

  • How can I get the edited pictures from the thumbnails to full size?

I upgraded to iPhoto 11, the thumbnail photos show my previous edits, but when I click on the photo to make it bigger, it reverts back to the unedited, original picture.  How can I get the edited pictures from the thumbnails to full size?

Verify you are using iPhoto11 ver 9.5
if not run the >Software update or check your apps folder and make sure the correct iPhoto is launched,  not an older ver.

"View Film Rolls" is not Highlighted.... how can I get to it? (iPhoto 6)

Since you're using the term Rolls you must be running iPhoto 6 or earlier. For future problems be sure you post in the iPhoto 6 or forum.
For this problem the View File rolls will only Be sure you're clicked on the Library. That menu item is not available in an album or other item. If you have clicked the library icon first and it's still grayed out close iPhoto, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and then try again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How can I get the edited value from the editor in JTable

I have a JTextField added as an editor to a cell in JTable.
I value gets changed when I press enter.
but in actionPerformed of the JTextField when I say
    String txtEditorValue = txtEditor.getText();
I am getting the old value. How can I get the edited value? Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess, your understanding of how JTable works together with its models is not good enough - for example the method getTableCellEditorComponent(...) of the TableCellEditor interface is used to get the component, that should be used as editing component - its second parameter is a value that should be used to setup the editing component - it is normally not the editing component itself.
JTable uses an underlying TableModel to store the cell values - if you have edited a cell, JTable gets the value of the editing component by itself and stores it in the TableModel using its setValueAt(...) method. To retrieve this data you only need to query the TableModel using row and column of this cell as parameters
say jt is your JTable, and row and column are the row and column of the cell - so to get the value, simply use
    Object obj = jt.getModel().getValueAt(row,column);
if you know, that there is a String in this cell use
    String str = (String) jt.getModel().getValueAt(row,column);
The editor component is used for the view of the JTable - you only want the data, which is stored in the model - you don't have to deal with the GUI components in this case.

  • Working alternating with iPhoto and FCE tgrying to import pictures from iPhoto into FCE suddenly all my 22300 pictures disappeared leaving empty frames. Does somebody know where the pictures could have gone and how can I get them back into iPhoto? Lothar

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    According to the print spec:

5x7 is supported. The steps vary somewhat based on your operating system; what operating system are you running?

  • How can I get Tex-Edit +  to operate correctly again?

In June of this year I got help in this forum on how to use Tex-Edit+ to italicize some text in parentheses. HD came up with a script that worked with Tex-Edit + and was shown in the Thread "How can I get Applescript to work correctly again."
I tried to apply the same script to another document but I can't get it to work this time. The procedure requires copying the document to a Tex-Edit + window. I get this window by opening Tex-Edit + and selecting "New". When I copy the document to this window, the type becomes larger and is colored blue. When I try to run the Tex-Edit + script, it returns "Cannot open document 1". I am making some kind of mistake but I don't know what it is.
    Would appreciate comments.

Yvan-- Good idea. Here's the script:
"I don't know why this is happening. But I would recommend that if you have a large document to process, you get Tex-Edit Plus (not TextEdit), copy and paste the contents of your original document AppleWorks document into a new Tex-Edit Plus window, and use the following script instead:
    tell application "Tex-Edit Plus"
    tell document 1
replace looking for "^c" replacing with "rrparmarkrr"
replace looking for "(" replacing with "^cxxbeginitalsxx("
replace looking for ")" replacing with "^cxxenditalsxx)"
    set parcount to count paragraphs
repeat with x from 1 to parcount
if paragraph x begins with "xxbeginitals" then set style of paragraph x to italic
    end repeat
replace looking for "^cxxenditalsxx" replacing with ""
replace looking for "^cxxbeginitalsxx" replacing with ""
replace looking for "rrparmarkrr" replacing with "^c"
    end tell
    end tell
    Almost instantaneous..."
    H
As noted, this script worked fine on the first document I tried. (I pasted it into a Script Editor window.) With the second document, it doesn't work properly, as I explained in the first post above.
    I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

How can I get my texts back after an IOS update?

    Hi Clembo60,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your text messages are missing after an update on your iPhone. If you have a backup of your device on either iTunes or iCloud, you can restore from that backup and bring your information back. Please review the attached article, which covers how to back up and restore from backups, for more information.
