How can I get real time updates in multiple views when scrubbing through the timeline?
I am using After Effects CS 5.5 on Windows 7. When I use the mouse to click / drag / scroll through the timeline, one view updates in real time, this is great! If I open a second view, it only updates that view when I finish scrolling.
I would like to be able to scroll back and forth through the timeline, and have two different compositions update in real time (live update)?
Is this possible?

The long answer is: No. It's not even a performance issue, it's how AE evaluates time, since time is fluid and can be mangled in a million ways from time-remapping to expressions...

I went through an Adobe update and when my computer rebooted, the default font for everything was in italics. For example, when I go to Yahoo.com, the headings for all the news articles and tabs are in italics. I tried going through the Troubleshooting steps to no avail. I am frustrated because I followed the advice of checking the default font under Tools, then I opened the browser in Safe Mode, then I checked to make sure all the fonts were available. So how can I get my fonts back to normal? The italics gives me a headache.
The usual cause of that issue is a corrupted or missing font that Firefox replaces by another, in this case a bold, font.
As a test you can try to disable the default font and choose a few different fonts (Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Times New Roman) to see if you can identify the culprit.<br />
you will have to reinstall that corrupted font. -
We use mac mini's in various mobile applications and its impossible to create an adhoc network and have it automatically sign back on with it when we restart or turn the mac mini back on. We use them in airplanes and the unit does not stay powered once the airplne finishes its trip. So we hae to train the pilots to turn it on and setup a new network and its very pesty. Any thoughts on how to fix this. We have already tried to create a new location and mive thr adhoc network to the top of the heirarchy list but it still wont work.
ThanksHmmm - I may be misreading your problem, but try this.
Create the network. When you have the computer connected to the "server" computer, make an alias of the server computer and place it on the desktop. You can try putting the alias into the computer account "log in" items.
Restart. The computer should execute the log in items and join the network if its available. -

While I agree that it would be nice if it was easier to transfer media from your Apple devices they should never be used as the sole location for any of your media. ThanksYou want to stop the audio from playing and also downloading more video/audio if it is still downloading when you go to a new keyframe where the video display/component or mp3 player is removed from the stage because it's keyframe ended or do not exist anymore but you still hear the audio.
Add an event listener to your video playback component that calls a function when the flash player tries to remove the video plaer from the stage that stops the netstream or at least stops/pauses the video playback.

Without a backup on iCloud, there needs to be another device using the same @icloud address that is syncing to the notes. Without that, there is no way to go back in time to create a backup before performing a major update.

I asked the Apple Tech support people and their advice worked for me, it's a setting on the iPad itself. see below.
Follow the below instructions to sign in with your new account name.
1) From the home screen, tap Settings
2) Tap Store
3) Tap Sign Out
4) Tap Sign In
5) Enter your current account name "xxxx" and your password and tap OK.
If you are still unable to change the sign in name on your iPad, please sign into your account on your computer and then sync the iPad so the changes will be updated.

It sounds like you might have the shuffle button at the bottom left of the iTunes (the button with the squiggly lines).
If that's not the case, then maybe you just need to sort your library by album by clicking the album tab at the top.
Is your music in a playlist, or are you trying to play it from the entire library? -

the correct time should be 2001-8-16Certain indexes in the Calendar API start at 0 rather then 1, so, when you get the value, you may want to increment.
I'm not sure why the time is incorrect. You may want to call getAvailableIDs() and make sure that the desired TimeZone ID is supported by your version. I doubt that Sun would have incorrect support for the time zone, but it may not be included, or perhaps it is included with a diffrent ID. You can always create your own time zone as well, by passing the String offset to getTimeZone(), the offset being how many hours beyond or before GMT. Hopefully this helps. -

An alternate, and simpler method for most users is to open any Finder window, then look for the Time Capsule icon under the Shared heading on the left side of the window.
When you click on the Time Capsule icon, a folder......named "Data", unless you have changed the name of the drive.....will appear to the right.
Double-click "Data" to mount the Time Capsule drive on the desktop, where you can now drag/drop or copy/paste data to the drive.
If the Time Capsule does not appear under the Shared heading when you open a Finder window......then you are likely using the Yosemite operating system on your Mac, and it will take some work to find it.
In that case, Niel's method might be the better way to go. -

I would strongly recommend getting into the habit of handling Dates correctly. A Date is a universal instant in time - the number of milliseconds since midnight GMT on 1 January 1970. That instant corresponds to various dates and times, depending on your time zone and the effect of daylight saving. You make that conversion of a universal instant to a localized date/time using Calendar and DateFormat. -

After upgrading MBA to OS X, the time machine still backs up the files; but, I'm not able to navigate within the time machine or select any folders or files for restore.

Long short of it.. Mavericks version of TM is a pain.
Sometimes it is easier to completely ignore the TM backup and do the restore manually.
