How can I get rid of a previous iTunes account on an iPhone?

I had my iPhone under an iTunes account that is no longer valid. I have connected my iPhone to a new iTunes account but everytime I try to turn on iMessages or update apps, I am prompted to type the password for the previous account. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?!

You can't cancel an iTunes account.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. In order to install an app update for an app that was downloaded with your other iTunes account, you must use that iTunes account and password. You cannot combine accounts or transfer DRM from one account to another.

The iforgot support is if you forget your password, you still know your password, so you don't need that anyway.
I would recommend erasing the iPad completely and starting all over again. ID you backup with iCloud you can restore your content from the iCloud backup. If you backup and sync with iTunes, you can do the same with that. Only difference being when using iTunes, you must restore from the backup and then sync the iPad.
To erase completely go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. You will have to start all over again as I explained. The store gave you a device with someone else's ID and account still on it, and I would not want to use it without erasing it first.

I know this because I still get email notifications of what is being done with the account. How do I get back control of my account?

HT3576 How can I get rid of "Connect to itunes to use push notifications" pop-ups. I just had to replace my iPhone 5 and when I did a restore from backup, most of my apps will not let me in becuase I cannot get past the"connect to itunes..." message.

My iPhone 5 was distroyed so I replaced it with a new iPhone 5 yesterday. I did a restore from a backup that i had performed a week ago. When I tried to use the phone several of my apps would not let me in becuase they continually gave me a popup message "Connect to Itunes to use push notifications". I click ok and the popup comes back. I have shut my phone off several times. I have complete closed the apps several times. I have even deleted the apps from my phone and reinstalled. All to no avail. Please help - does anyone know how to fix this?

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.

How can I get rid of directory path in front of my folder names in Folder listing in Library mode???

Im using the most recent version of Lightroom 5.3 (updated through CC - even though this has shown up on previous version) on Windows 7 and all the folders in my library are showing up with the directory path in front of my folder names. How can I get rid of this? I do not see any options in preferences to turn this off. I have also turned off preferences in Windows > Folder Options Control Panel "Display full Path in Title bar" option.
I have Lightroom on several computers and have set up preferences the same on each workstation, and this only shows up on one workstation.
Any help would be appreciated.
