How can I get rid of that annoying white circle in that black square

Since Oct. 7 last I have a 5S. Before had a 4S. About 4S no complaints, so the 5S maybe faster, better cam and so on but what I really hate it that stupid white circle in a black square you can move around on your screen. However when you want to open, for instance <messages> and that white circle is very near, messages will not be opened but a uselless black sub scrn with favorites, Siri, Device, Home. How can I get rid of that or delete or move it, it will no longer be visible on my scrn.

Yes, you are right. I must have done it myself during the first days while exploring the many options after the initial set up was done. On the 4S, I still have, and also running under OS7, it was disabled that's why I thought it was default in the 5S; wrong thinking. Thanks a lot for your great help.

If the History sidebar is closed when you close Firefox and doesn't stay closed on the next start then that can be problem with the file localstore.rdf in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

Note:

Actually, that's not on the Home screen, it is on the multitasking or App Switcher view so only shows up when you enter that mode (so I'm not to clear as to why it is so "irritating", but whatever).
Settings app > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > scroll down to CONTACTS section] > Show in App Switcher

Podcast Authors appear in "Artists" on my Ipod - How can I get rid of that?

I use iTunes to subscribe to podcasts. After synchronizing, the podcasts appear on my Ipod in my "Podcasts"-folder as they should. But the Authors also appear in the "Artists"-folder, which I find very confusing.
How can I get rid of that?

hello tomterrimort, if your manual changes don't 'stick' after a restart of the browser, please look out for any suspicious extensions (like 3rd-party-toolbars or things you have not installed intentionally) presently installed under '''firefox/tools > addons > extensions''' or the programs section of the windows control panel and remove those entries.
in case this doesn't solve the issue please try this: go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

I sought help among the available articles. I was informed that right clicking on a vacant part of the toolbar would give me the option to delete or hide it. Doesn't seem to work with this one. In fact, right clicking anywhere on this row isn't working. If I right click the "startnow" icon, it takes me to that page. I really don't want this toolbar, as it wastes my desk space. It has been a while since I've tried to update an app that isn't supported (last time was under iOS 3 or 4), so I can't comment about what would happen if you did try to update it. (My best guess is it will display an alert saying it is not compatible, and leave the previous version there, but not take away the 'update' in the APp Store app updates page).

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID. What ID is in the settings. Tap on that ID to change it. Sign Out. Sign in with your own ID. After you sign out with the incorrect ID, restart the iPad before you sign into your correct account.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Store and sign in.

Double click the home button then swipe the google app up to close it. If that doesn't work, press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own. If that doesn't work try deleting and reinstalling app.
