How can I get the function of dictation in my Mac 10.6.8 without buying dragon?

I want to have the function of dictation in my Mac 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. I read that if I upgrade to ML I can have it, but it will not allow some softwares to work. Dragon is too expensive, so any other ideas???

There is no dictation facility built into Snow Leopard so you would have to obtain a third-party program; Dragon Dictate is the best known - I don't know if there even are any others; you could try Google.

You cannot organise Mission Control's "Desktops" this way. They are organised in a single row to allow the swipe gestures to work. Apple allows no way to customise this.

By deafult you should be able toi switch by pressing ctrl plus the desktop number, e.g. ctrl+1. This is the same as Spaces in Snow Leopard. You can customise this under System Preferences (Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control).

A lot of people are disapointed with Mission Control. In my opinion it's a step backwards from Spaces & Expose in Snow Leopard but peoples views on this will depend if they used Spaces & Expose in Leopard/Snow Leopard and the type of Mac they are using - it makes some sense on a Macbook Air, for example, with a small screen and multi-touch trackpad but not so much on an iMac or Mac Pro (sames goes for Launchpad). I just hope Apple listens to the criticism and enables customisation options to change the way Mission Control behaves.

Sorry, but no. You cannot change (spoof) the MAC address on any of the AirPort/Time Capsule routers.

Using dtrace how can we get the functionality of prstat ,vmstat

I would like to know what probes can be used to generate a dtrace (.d) script which could produce the output of prstat,vmstat etc.I cannot use these commands at the command prompt directly to know my system's behavior.Can any one here help me out to get this thing realized.I have stiff deadlines to meet .....and i am behind them already...

There's probably not an exact equivalent. I'd start with the 'dtrace toolkit' and see if there's something in there that meets your needs.
But it's not designed to replace tools that already work well. Why would you be able to use dtrace and not vmstat?

My hard drive crashed with no backup. How can I get the data from iCloud onto my Mac?

My hard drive went bad and needed to be replaced and I've lost everything that was on it (no backup - I know, I know...). Fortunately much of my data was backed up either on icloud or my ipad but I haven't been able to find any information about restoring it FROM icloud or ipad TO my Mac, only about how to restore to an ios device. The Read from Clipboard method is, unfortunately, limited to text. If the clipboard contains an image then you need to use OS-specific functions calls. This is an example program for Windows. It's old, but it should still work.

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.

Today I updated the OX Maverisk. It turns out that the three finger gesture in the finder( go back and forward) is disabled. How can I get this function back? I love it so much!!!

Well I'll guess you're using iPhoto 11:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I would like to get the underlying object for which the ObjectReference is
a mirror For example, I have a class Customer in my application, and I can get an ObjectReference through JDI during runtime. But how can I get the target VM's object which is a real instance of Customer, by which I can invoke methods defined in Customer?

If passed an object with an InTextFrame property (Pgf, AFrame, Cell, Fn) that resides in an open document, the function will return the Doc object. Otherwise, it returns undefined.

How can we get the actual table name for an argument if its datatype is %ROWTYPE.
For Ex :

In the above function 'ACCOUNT_UPDATE', for argument person the datatype is 'person%rowtype'.
Is there any way to get the name from Data Dictionary tables.
I tried using All_Arguments and DBMS_DESCRIBE, I can able to get all the individual fields of %ROWTYPE by I could not able to know the exact table name thru the DD.
my requirement is dynamically I need to declare a variable for the argument datatype.

enter.
select the kunnr field.
press F1.
the top of the screen u will get 'Technical setting icon.
select that one.then u will get tablename,fieldname,parameter id also.
