How can I get the functionality of the old "Spaces" in Mission Control?

How can I make Lion show a space number on the top of the screen so I can see which space I am in?
How can I make Lion switch spaces in a ring? ie? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, ...
How can I make lion switch directly to a numbered space? ie: 1, 4, 5, 2, etc...
Without these three capabilities Mission Control is a giant step backward....I am disappointed in the way it works and would liketo know how to disable it and give me back the way spaces used to work.

You cannot organise Mission Control's "Desktops" this way. They are organised in a single row to allow the swipe gestures to work. Apple allows no way to customise this.

By deafult you should be able toi switch by pressing ctrl plus the desktop number, e.g. ctrl+1. This is the same as Spaces in Snow Leopard. You can customise this under System Preferences (Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Mission Control).

A lot of people are disapointed with Mission Control. In my opinion it's a step backwards from Spaces & Expose in Snow Leopard but peoples views on this will depend if they used Spaces & Expose in Leopard/Snow Leopard and the type of Mac they are using - it makes some sense on a Macbook Air, for example, with a small screen and multi-touch trackpad but not so much on an iMac or Mac Pro (sames goes for Launchpad). I just hope Apple listens to the criticism and enables customisation options to change the way Mission Control behaves.

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

Ever since updating to 6.0, my internet crashes, my app store crashes, EVERYTHING crashes. It's very annoying to say the least. How can I get the old version back????

I'm getting really annoyed that my iPod keeps crashing thanks to 6.0. When is this going to get fixed or how can I get the previous version back??

I had a iPod 4G and it suffered crashes after upgrading to iOS6, especially in the App Store and iTunes store. Safari often crashed as well, but it occurred same as before I upgraded.
My iPod barely had any apps on it, having only 3GB used of 6.5GB available space (I had 8GB version).
I got the new iPod Touch 5th generation a few days ago and it works perfectly. Never had a single crash running any app, game, or store.
This has led me to believe that iOS6 was primiarily for the new line of devices and not really optimized for the previous generation. Thus, I think that iOS6 may be the last highest supported OS for the iPod-4 and the iPhone-4 and 4S and future operating systems will not be compatible with the previous generation.

How can I get the old version back, because this new is so poor, it doesn't work. My curcor doesn't appeart and can use secont tab.

First you'll need to download the old version from here.

Once you have chosen your language and operating system type then download it from the list on that page.
Next you will have to uninstall the current version of Firefox by using the add/remove programs option under control panel. After the current Firefox has been removed you can then run the installer for the old version. Using this method will not save your bookmarks or any addon's/extensions so make sure you have a list of the addon's you want to get back and you can also backup your bookmarks from within your current version of Firefox prior to removing it.
Do note that some extensions that you may have installed were installed by 3rd party programs and they will not be reinstalled until the program that installed them has been either updated or reinstalled as well.

In the old version, when I logged in to the store, it automatically updated the podcasts to which I was subscribed. The new format carries no dates and very little identification so that I know what I don't yet have when I go to a new podcast. The music I searched for was sorely lacking; I know they have more Brubeck than what I found because I have done a similar search in the past and there were many more choices. It's just a mess trying to find what I want. I'm afraid to plug in the iPod for fear of this new program screwing up what I have. I don't want to have to reload all my music and reorganize it. It's good to know I'm not alone in my dissatisfaction. And Apple makes it very difficult to give them direct feedback. Most sites at least have a "Contact Us" option. I've gotten a ton of email since I posted this afternoon. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

Unless the device was backed up prior to restoring the backup from the iPod Touch, there is nothing to restore.
Just set up the email account again... it's not difficult, but you may need information from your corporate IT dept to set it up.

How can I get the old CS3 pixel aspects into CS5

i'm trying to get the old cs3 pixel aspect ratio into cs5. I don't need the hyper-correct- BBC 1.4587 for DV widescreen which leads to black bars left and right if I import HD footage into a SD widescreen timeline. Or if I export a HD timeline to Encore and downconvert to a SD PAL DVD - black bars...
I have asked the adobe support, and they told me to change the Interpretation Rules.txt. But they have no further knowledge about these entries.

But I need it also for Premiere and Encore. Photoshop will be fine, but this is no must.
What I Have tried so far:
- changing the interpretation rules.txt from ... 768/702... to ..768/720 -> doesn't change anything
- I copiued the whole interpretation rules.txt from Premiere CS3 -> doesn't change anything
- I deleted the interpretatio rules.txt and reboot premiere -> doesn't change anything and premiere don't ask for the missing file.
now I think that the interpretation rules.txt is not the right place to change the Pixel aspect ratio.
can anybody help me? Is there a patch, which change all these settings in the whole cs5 production bundle...

of course is PP interpreting my footage very well in terms of the cs5 PAR. but I want the PAR of CS3 becouse of the black bars left and right.
One example step by step:
- I render an AE Comp in 1920x1080
- import that into premiere and create a HD timeline which fits perfectly to the footage
- send this to Encore and create a PAL DVD
---> now you will find these ugly bars left and right
the same if you put the 1920x1080 (that is truly 16/9) in a dv Pal widescreen timeline in premiere ( since CS4 with the PAR of 1.4587). right-click on scale to frame size. and again the black bars!
For me, the old PAR 1.422 and 1.06 worked really fine and there for I try to get them back. and I know that I'm not the only one..

Suggestion: when you notify user that add-ons are incompatible, give the option of reverting to an earlier firefox version.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
