How can I get the middle mouse button to work with the toolbar button?

Yesterday firefox stopped responding to middle-mouse clicks made in the bookmarks toolbar. Middle mouse buttons still work in web pages.

Is there a way to get our HP Deskjet 882C to work with Snow Leopard? This printer is a workhorse, and even though it is so old, our budget and common sense say not to get rid of it.

Install the HPIJS package. This is an open source set of drivers for older printers. HP dropped support for a whole lot of printers when Snow Leopard was developed. These drivers fill the gap.
You will need to install three components - Ghostscript, Foomatic RIP and the hpijs package. They are all on the HPIJS web page. Once installed, restart your Mac, connect your printer. You will probably need to go into System Preferences > Print & Fax to select the printer and set it as your default printer. After that it works great. And it also works on Lion.

How can I get an audio-in connector to work with a MacBook Pro (Mid 2012)?

I have a Plantronics headset with two cables: audio in and audio out (like the two connectors on the old MacBooks). It is pretty old and so I assumed it was for those. I have tried to get it to work with my mid-2012 MacBook Pro, but the microphone (audio in [yes, it does have a picture of a microphone on it]) cable isn't recognized by the Mac. It thinks it is headphones, and unsuccessfully tries to play sound through it. The other cable (audio out), however, successfully receives sound and plays it through.
I hope that makes sense, and I would appreciate any help .

They removed the audio input, starting from your model, you will need an USB interface, there are may, and it depends on how high of quality you need.

I got a new 80Gb iPod and then discovered my Belkin Card Reader I've used extensively with my 4th Gen iPod, no longer works with the new one. I easily transferred photo albums on my PC to the new iPod but the Belkin Reader is "not recognized" by the new one.
This is a MAJOR disappointment to me as we travel a lot and I've used my iPod all over the world for photo storage. I had about 15Gb of photos on my older 40 Gb iPod before I transferred them off and got the new one.

How can I get Firefox ver. 29 to work with Silverlight in windows 8.1

I noticed that this problem doesn't occur in version 28 of Firefox. For some reason when I try to go to Netflix, I can login but I can't play any videos without getting an 2103 error message with Silverlight. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both 64bit and 32bit versions of Silverlight 5. It worked last night, but for some reason it won't work at all. So I've went back to version 28 of FIrefox and the problem is gone. I also want to note that this problem isn't happening with Chrome or IE11.

I've been using Firefox Beta, so I've had 29 for a while. Silverlight works fine, and I use Netflix without any errors. I'm using a 64-bit Windows 7, so I can't say why it won't work on Windows 8.1. Hopefully it gets fixed since I'm updating soon.
Just a quick note: make sure you have the latest 32-bit version of Silverlight. The 64-bit version will only work on IE11 if you have a 64-bit system.

How can I get my third party plugins to work with PSCC?

I use third party plug-ins from two different companies and they all worked during my PSCC trail period, but now PS won't recognize any of them. Are you saying your trial expired but you liked CC so you are now subscribing? Or are you saying you went back to CS6 or another previous version.
What plugins are they?
Did they work on the before on that build before you tried CC?

Usually when people have plugin issues its to do with 32 / 64 bit ones, as they don't interplay with each other. Eg you trialled a 32bit bit cc and used the 32bit plugins, but actually subscribed to 64bit cc
When you say tech support is useless, are you reffering to the plugin tech support or Adobe? Assuming you mean adobe did you try the plugin supplier?

How can I get an iPhone 4 to reliably work with Airport?

I've been searching through many forums, and most discussions are several years old, and the fixes they describe don't work. I have an Airport Extreme network, a new one built this year (2012) with 2 airport expresses and 2 macs and a PC, and iPad in the house, an iPad that comes by occasionally, and they all work flawlessly. But there are 2 iPhones in the house, a 3Gs and a 4 that will not work. Occasionally they will log into the network, but that never lasts. Normally both phones say that they cannot join the airport network, if I use the wrong passwork, they say so. The network is using PPoe in order to use a Verizon DSL, and uses a wpa2 password if that has anything to do with it. Has anyone figured this out? Or is this something of Apple's that intentionally does not work in order to use up people's telephone bandwidth as fast as possible?

How can I get the light for the power button to go back on?

I would like to get the power button light to work properly again. I have a p6813W desktop running Windows 7, 64 bit OS.
The first time the machine went into sleep mode and was awoken the power button light went out and has not yet to come back on even after many shutdowns and restarts. I can't easity tell if my computer is on or off. How can I get the light to work properly again?

Mac's don't have UI scale options like Windows has.
Either you can drop the screen resolution in Displays a wee bit and make things appear distorted, or do what I do and use the Universal Access and set a control key, then use a mouse wheel/scroll to zoom in and out where the mouse is pointed.

I just upgraded to the iPhone 4. When I am talking on the phone, the screen doesn't lock, so I am constantly pressing buttons or hanging up on the person I'm talking to. How can I get the screen to lock while I'm talking? It's driving me NUTS.

The otterbox is one of the culprits. Take the phone out of the case and see if it still happens. If so it is not the case. If the problem goes away, then you may need to make the hole slightly larger. My family has three iPhone 4's in otterboxes and none have this problem. Other users on this forum have reported success with the above methods.
