I moved from an ipod touch, without a phone app. Now my iphone 5s has a phone app, but how do I get it to be one of the four choices in the dock?

You control what is in your dock. It hasn't changed, Press and hold an icon til they start to wiggle and then drag the icons you want to move. You can take any app you want to where ever you want rearange them on your home screen or move them to another screen or in and out of the dock.( tip : you can have an open space on your dock to use as a holder for moving apps from one screen to another.drag icon to dock flick to screen that you want to place icon then drage icon out to the new screen)

How can I get the Doc object from any other object?

Dear colleagues,
in FrameScript it is dead-simple to get to the document part of any object, just add .Doc to the variable.
How can I achieve the same with ExtendScript? I amtired of passing the document object next to AFrames or Pgfs along into subroutines, because those objects already contain the information about their document. But how do I access this?

PS: Almost the same is true for the page an object lives on. With FrameScript we use .Page, with ExtendScript you have to move up the object tree until you reach the UnanchoredFrame.PageFramePage…
PPS: It would be great to see some convenience properties like .Doc and .Page implemented natively.

I'll preface this response by admitting this far from an elegant solution, but I did write a function addressing this question, mostly as an exercise.
If passed an object with an InTextFrame property (Pgf, AFrame, Cell, Fn) that resides in an open document, the function will return the Doc object. Otherwise, it returns undefined.

You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.

However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on.

You delete the app as you do any other app. Hold an icon until they wiggle. Tap the "x". This is covered in the manual.

What happens if you tap on open?
Remember, if you ever want to find an app quickly, you can slide all the way to the left (iOS 6 and lower) or pull down (iOS 7 and later) to get to an app.
If you know for certain that you have deleated the app, please try restarting your phone. There are many ways to do this, but the safest way would be to hold down the power button and then slide to power down.
Once powered down, restart and try to find the icon on your screen. If you still can't find it, go into the App Store and then find the app you were trying to access. It should have an iCloud download symbol since you've purchased it before, rather than saying "install."

SO, do I delete the app off of both the old 3g phone AND the imac, then reinstall on ONLY the imac, then re sync? OR, should I delete off computer, repurchase on computer then re-sync with new iphone4? I realize this is kind of roundabout, but the issue I ran into was too much stuff on my old 8GB 3G, and I was stuck on iOS3 FOREVER (couldn't upgrade to iOS4) soooo, I deleted a whole bunch of piddly apps from the phone ONLY, which then allowed me to update to iOS4 (on the 3G). Then, I could sync (which I did, but obviously not everything transferred, b/c when I synced the new 32 GB iphone 4, there are particular apps {doodle buddy and groove, my tap fish...} that are missing the in app purchases, but these are still on the old 8GB 3G). Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you in. If you are using your computer's iTunes then does music show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (on your phone you might be able to redownload media via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app) ? If music shows there, but not that album, then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country when you can redownload music and it's still on your phone then you should be able to copy it over from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.

The problem is, once I create a document in Pages and turn it into an ePub to be opened in iBooks, I delete the document in Pages, because I don't need two copies taking up space on my iPad. Before Maverick, iTunes would backup everything in my iBook app on my iPad. If something ever happened to my iPad, all of my created ePubs would be lost and I would be screwed. I suppose I could keep everything on Pages and go to iCloud and download my documents to my Mac, but that is a lot of steps. I may have to do that if there is no other way, but I am hoping someone will have the answer for me. Pretty disappointed in iBooks app for Mac at this point.

She can't from iCloud without setting up your iCloud account on her phone. But just sync the same apps from your iTunes Library on your computer to her phone.
Your wife should setup her own iCloud account - which is separate to the iTunes Store accounts.

The only way to synchronize is connecting to FaceBook. I just set up my girl friend's iPhone to connect with FaceBook, which then updated the phone's level; then I downloaded the app (again) on her iPad and selected connect to Facebook. I'm not sure what the downfall of synchronizing through FaceBook is.... all I can tell you is it worked and now her iPad shows the same level as her iPhone. Good luck!

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

Unfortunately, as recommended by the lady from CA, as long as the Mac is still associated with the Apple ID of the original owner, you can't even buy those iLife apps with that Mac. You will always get the alert to download them with the original owner's Apple ID.
As suggested by the chavo from España, you need the original owner to contact Apple Care* and request that the OS and the iLife apps be disassociated from his Apple ID. Then you should be free to OS X Recovery to resinstall the most recent version of OS X that shipped with the Mac and install the iLife apps. Afterward, before using any of the iLife apps you need to open the Mac App Store (MAS) to the Purchases pane and Accept these apps into your MAS account's Apple ID. If you use any of the iLife apps before you have accepted them into your account, as per the app's Terms of Use, they all become one-trick-ponies that can not be downloaded onto another Mac or updated.
