How can i go about turning my p7-1026 into a decent gaming pc?

Hello,
I am a newbie when it comes to modifying a pc. I am DYING to have a decent gaming pc. is there any way I can upgrade my HP p7-1026 so it would run games like Skyrim, Battlefield 3+, some call of duties? My pc does run some games rather well like borderlands, resident evil5, and a bunch of older titles. Any suggestions are grestly appreciated as Im clueless. I wish i had 1-2000$ to just go out and buy one but i dont. Feel free to add any info at all as Im desperate for some ideas. Thank you in advance!

According to the specs;
Expansion Slots
•1 PCI Express x16 slot Gen 2 speed
•3 PCI Express x1 slots
•1 PCI Express x1 mini card socket
Because this model has a V2.0 PCIe x16 expansion slot, you can use most v2.0, v2.1, and v3.0 graphics cards. Many of these AMD Radeon HD cards should be capable of running the games you wish to play. Additionally, many of these nVidia GTX cards should be capable of running the games you wish to play. You will need to measure along the plane of the PCIe x16 slot from the rear of the case forward to determine if there is enough space for the card. If you find any obstacles before reaching the length of the selected card, the card may not fit.
As far as the power supply goes... consider the Corsiar CX500, CX500M, CX600, and CX600M... depending on the graphics cards you choose.
There should be no reason to upgrade the CPU, as the factory installed CPU should meet all gaming requirement. If you do upgrade the CPU, your motherboard has a 95 watt TDP limitation. The following CPUs will be your better choices;
AMD Phenom II X6 10xxT Six-Core (Thuban core)
AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb core)
Memory on this model is 6GB and you may wish to consider increasing it to 8GB or more. This should help overall system performance, in addition to gaming.
