How can I go back from running Mountain Lion v 10.8.2 to running Snow Leopard?
I have had nothing but issues with my computer when I went from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. My computer will constantly freeze when just trying to open the interent or open up another app. I can't remember the last time I was able to have a normal shut down because it will just go to a gray screen and I am eventually forced to do a hard shutdown. I don't know what else it could be other than the OS. I'm just tired of having to constantly restart my computer so that I can use it. Anyone have any suggestions.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that something was damaged when you upgraded OS X. This can happen, and it looks like it happened to you. In your case, I recommend you to make a backup and reinstall Mountain Lion erasing the disk:
1. Press Command and R keys while your Mac is starting, and open Disk Utility.
2. Select Macintosh HD in the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
3. Close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X. After installing OS X, restore your files manually and reinstall the applications
If this doesn't work, you can install Snow Leopard again:
1. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press C key while your Mac is starting.
2. When the disc has started, open Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select the hard disk at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
3. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X. After installing, open > Software Update to install the most recent version

How can I downgrade back to OSX Mountain Lion From OSX Mavericks without any Time Machines Backups
How do I downgrade from OSX Mavericks to OSX Mountain Lion. I do NOT have a Time Machine Backup and I dont want to lose all my files. Is there a way to downgrade WITHOUT a Time Machine Backup and still have all my files????
Since you need to erase your hard drive in order to downgrade, you would lose all your files. You cannot do what you want without erasing, so make a backup first.

my phone was updated and a google street view map was lost. How can i restore back from ios 6 to ios 5?
You cannot downgrade the iOS, there is no supported method.
Google streetview was not lost, Google Maps were removed from iOS6 and replaced with Apple Maps. -

My Mac has a OS X operating system. (10.6.8) How can I upgrade its system to Mountain Lion so I can then add the ICloud? Also, does the ICloud include virus protection for files already on my Mac?
You can purchase and download Mountain Lion in the App Store (in your 'Applications' folder), then just run the installer: however you should first check that Mountain Lion can indeed run on your Mac. Please see this page:
http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
You might also want to look at this page to see whether any vital applications will be adversely affected:

In particular note that PPC applications such as AppleWorks will not run on Mountain Lion since Rosetta is not included and can't be added. -
How can i open my iMac with mountain lion in 32 bit. With the Mountain Lion, some important softwares are not functioning. Please help !
Thx for yr reply. maybe i don't express myself very well. i know ML is 64 bit system. and it does not open up my VPN connection (the VPN connection i am talking here is Cisco and it is only in 32 bits) . i was wondering is there a way my macbook air 11 inch first generation can turn back into its original operation system, so that i can use the VPN connection. When I send an email with bcc recipients, the bcc does not show in my sent mail so I can't reference back later who I sent the email to. Worked in Snow Leopard but not in Yosemite. Please advise if their is fix for that.
Did you select View->Bcc Address Field from the menu bar?

If i download the new OS X Mountain Lion to my Macbook Pro that has Snow Leopard, will i lose my apps and downloads (such as: Microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, oovoo, skype) and will i lose all of my pictures/documents and information?
I should just change the OS and leave all your apps and data alone. That said, if any of your apps are old and use Rosetta (ppc apps), they won't run under Mountain Lion.
Make sure you take a good Time Machine or Clone backup before you convert.
You can check compatibility of your apps here:

How can I roll back from the latest update - hate it!
I can't get the quick WYSIWYG bar to show up. I want my old version back. How can I roll back?
I can't get the quick WYSIWYG bar to show up.
Not sure what that means. Can't you switch to Live View or Design View ? See screenshot.
In Creative Cloud desktop app, select Filters & Versions > Previous Version.

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's just a sample of a kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.GeForce(6.4.0)@0x82ac4000->0x82b7afff
dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
com.apple.nvidia.nv50hal(6.4.0)@0x83c05000->0x84019fff
dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000->0x8378dfff
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. They should be more than willing to install a new logic board at no cost. I have no idea why this faulty GPU is making the headline here on the MacBook Pro forum so often now - could it be because Mountain Lion is just bringing the issue to a head more readily? I don't know - I only know that we're seeing more and more of these kernel panics of late.
Good luck,
Clinton -

How can I switch back to OS X Lion from Mountain lion?
I have a Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S4, and it stopped working after upgrading to Mountain Lion. Instead of music coming out of the speakers, it is a repetetive crackling noice and the track stops and goes. I just want to downgrade so I don't have to worry about the problem until they come out with an update. I have a performance coming up and I need everything to work! Thanks.
Actually you are right, i ll stay on Mountain Lion. I have a problem with AppStore here is the link of my problem i post it a few minute ago.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4276037?tstart=0
I hope that someone can help me to fix it -
I downloaded Firefox 4.0 & installed it on my MacBook running OSX.4.11 but when I tried to run it I got an error saying it was not compatible with my version of OSX.
So if I can't open Firefox I lose all my bookmarks....
How can I downgrade to the version I was running before I upgraded & replaced all the files with version 4? I think this was 3.6 as I do upgrade regularly.
Thanks! You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
When you re-install Firefox 3.6 it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com -

Ciao all,
Seems the funcion is not available anymore in Lion. I used to slide 2 fingers on the trackpad in Snow Leopard.
Thanks for your replay...and happy holidays
Oricap10Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
