How can I have filters be applied to other folders than just Inbox?

Hi,
I saw https://discussions.apple.com/message/10469741#10469741 , but it's archived now, so I had to start a new thread, I guess? Sorry for that.
I wonder if there's any news on that topic since 2010: Is there a way to apply filters to just any incoming mail? Not limited to the ones in my Inbox? They are not marked as read, they are just brand new mails...

Actually....I think I may have it.
That iPhoto Library icon, just drag that to the external and then transfer it from the External to the other devices "Pictures" folder?? Then I should be able to just start iPhoto from the toolbar and it will all be there?

How can I have threads communicate with each other?

I'm working on a project that requires a group of classes communicating with each other. I decided on using a server and carrying out communication that way. However, my app only has communication between the client and server. I need the clients to be able to communicate with each other. Does anyone know how I can do this or point me to a good tutorial?

How can I get TB to get emails from folders besides the Inbox?

I just installed Thunderbird. It loads in emails from my Server's (Verizon) Inbox, but it gets nothing from the Sent folder or from any other of my personally-created folders. Can you tell me how to get TB do this? In Verizon, I changed all my emails to be "unread". Thanks.

You have to use IMAP email to do this. POP email only connects to the Inbox.

I am new to the Portlet World
My query is..
How can I have filters on a portlet screen ?
I want to display certain information on a portlet which must be filtered and ordered.
Example:
In Internet Banking , I want to display transfers which had happened in the last month. So I ( as a user ) will keep this predefined somewhere may be in portletData.
Whenever that user logs in for the next time, he will be able to view account transfers taken place in the lastest month only.
This must be user specific. As another user can keep the setting in a different way. That is he/she might want to view account transfers for the last week only.
When user clicks on a button a new screen( filter screen ) is loaded where he need to enter the dates of From and To .....
The user saves this.....( may be in portletdata)
So that when he logs in .. next time screen loads with the defined settings in filter....
Any idea ? How can this be achieived ?

How can I have a standard text block appear on the last page of my documents without having to type it in all the time? I have a terms statement with a line for a customer’s signature which I want on the last page of my invoices and right now I have to type it in each time or cut and paste it from a previous invoice. I already have a Master Page that includes the customer information and my company information at the top of each page and I am using data merge to fill each page with the items ordered and their pictures etc. I would just like to have this standard terms block automatically show up on the last page after the last item in the data merge.

Thank you Peter. This works. I have the text block now at the bottom of a second master page which I apply to the last page. For aesthetics I can modify the position of the text block in the new master page to bring it up from the bottom under the last item ordered when there is less than 4 items on the page. (my data merge fits up to 4 items with their images on a page). If the last page is full I’ll insert a final page using the second master and also bring it up to the top of the page.

Just to clarify, let's say you have tab 1 Google results and tab 2 something else. When you Ctrl+click a link in tab 1, it opens between tab 1 and tab 2 instead of at the end? Here's how you switch that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''tabs''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent''' preference to switch it from true to false.
You can switch back to an earlier tab and test. Success?

How / can I have jpg logo objects used on reports automatically updated

How / can I have jpg logo objects used on reports automatically updated after making changes to the repository copy of the jpg logo object in the repository? The reports are in the enterprise items folder of the repository and the logo.jpg file is in a subfolder of repository items. I made changes but the changes seem to apply only after I set my options in crystal reports and open the actual rpt file itself.
Is there a way to have the changes to the logo show / apply in all reports that have the repository item logo inserted into it without having to open every rpt file in the repository?

Yes, I understand that... the problem I was having was that check box being unchecked whenever an unrelated change was made to rpt file... I was able to ensure that it remained checked by doing save as to the rpt file and making sure the "enable repository refresh" box was checked and replacing the file when prompted upons saving the rpt file...

Sorry, but that opportunity has long passed. Your options now are:
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. How can I have multiple users on iTunes (in order to connect to a shared office iPad)? Currently each of us has our own iTunes account, so I've made an "all office" Apple ID. However, I can't seem to get two different accounts (my personal and the office) to work on my machine. Even when I login as "the office", my personal library is still showing. Additionally, when I try to setup with a first-time use in iTunes, I get an error that I don't meet the minimum age requirement - no matter what birthdate I enter!

The library exists regardless of which user is logged in.
The only way around that is to create different user accounts on the computer.
There is no way to have 20 unique iTunes users access a shared iTunes under a single login on the computer.

For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

Hi Crushed,
Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.

Sign into whichever account you want to use for purchasing.
Authorize the computer for both account to listen to the content.

If you want this split screen thingy for a single app, do like captfred suggests or see if the app itself supports some sort of splitting, like MS Excel.
