How can I have less fonts enabled in photoshop cs6?

There's a very long list that I have to sift through everytime I use the Text tool. I have deactivated a ton of fonts in font book. Is there somewhere else to delete or turn off fonts? I don't want to delete fonts the system needs, but I don't want them showing up in the list, either.

Chris, Do you think there will be a way in the future to not have them show unless you want them to?

  • How can I have a font with border in preview?

    If it is just PDFs you are annotating, you might try one of the other PDF editing programs, but I have no idea if they support the Outline style either.
    I’ve never used anything but Preview, so I don’t have any recommendations.

  • How can I set CameraRAWOpenOptions using Javascripts in Photoshop CS6?

    I have been unable to set CameraRAWOpenOptions in scripts that worked fine for me in Photoshop CS5 but now do not work in Photoshop CS6.  There are no error messages when I run the scripts, and they appear to finish okay, but the images come out unadjusted.  Below is the essence of how I'm trying to do it.  When I run these scripts in Extendscript (CS5 or CS6 does not make a difference), Photoshop CS6 simply uses its own default (saved) settings, but CS5 would allow the overrides.  I did change the default settings in CameraRAW in CS6 to use the default lens correction profiles available from the EXIF data, and I'm wondering if that rendered the script unable to change any of the rest of the settings.
    Here's how I have the code:
    var RawOptions = new CameraRAWOpenOptions;
    RawOptions.settings=CameraRAWSettingsType.CUSTOM;
    RawOptions.exposure=+2.00;
    RawOptions.vignettingAmount = 0;
    RawOptions.vignettingMidpoint = 0;
    RawOptions.contrast = 50;
    RawOptions.saturation = 0;
    RawOptions.shadows = 0;
    RawOptions.luminanceSmoothing = 0;
    var JPGopts = new JPEGSaveOptions;
    JPGopts.quality = JPEGquality;
    //Perform the loop through the files
    app.open(testListing[0], RawOptions, false);
    app.activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
    for (var nfile = nstart; nfile < nstop; nfile++)
        app.open(testListing[nfile], RawOptions, false);
        FnameSave = new File(SavePath+"/"+testListing[nfile].name);
        app.activeDocument.saveAs(FnameSave, JPGopts, false, Extension.UPPERCASE);
        app.activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);

  • How can I change the INTERFACE SIZE in PHOTOSHOP CS6?

    Hi! I was just wondering how can I decrease the sizes of the interface in Photoshop? (e.g. the tool bar). My screen resolution is 1366 x 768, and most of the tools in Photoshop is occupying a bigger space in my screen. I feel that I can paint better if they are smaller. Do you have any idea how can I decrease the size of this interface?

    The original "clarity" technique is just a Midtone contrast adjustment, the original idea as far as I know is from Mac Holbert formally of Nash Editions. Recipe is below but Mac used to have an action on his web site (I have it too and could send). Or build your own. Here's the steps:
    Mac Holbert's Midtone Contrast
    1. Highlight your top layer in your Layers Palette then:
    2a. In CS I: Select Layer->New->Layer to create a new, blank layer at the top of your Layer Stack. Then, holding down
    your Opt Key (Mac) / Alt Key (PC), select Merge Visible from the fly-down menu on the right side of your Layers Palette.
    Be sure to keep the Opt/Alt depressed until you see the blank layer update. You should now have an additional layer at the
    top of your layer stack. It represents how the image would appear if you had flattened your layers. Rename this layer
    “Midtone Contrast”
          -OR-
    2b. In CS II: Holding down your Opt Key (Mac) / Alt Key (PC), select Merge Visible from the fly-down menu on the right
    side of your Layers Palette. Be sure to keep the Opt / Alt depressed until you see the blank layer update. You should now
    have an additional layer at the top of your layer stack. It represents how the image would appear if you had flattened your
    layers. Rename this layer “Midtone Contrast”
    3. Next double-click on the Midtone Contrast layer icon to bring up the Layer Style Palette. Change the Blend Mode to
    Overlay and lower the Blend Mode Opacity to 20%. Now move the left “This Layer” slider to 70. Now Split away the left
    side of that slider by holding down the Opt / Alt key and move it to 50. Repeat the same process on the right “This Layer”
    slider, moving the sliders to 185 and 205 respectively. Then select “OK”.
    4. Now select Filter->Other->High Pass. In the High Pass Palette set the radius to 50 and select “OK”. Now select Image-
    >Adjustments->Desaturate. The Midtone Contrast layer is now complete. At 20% opacity it should be very subtle, but
    noticable. The effect can be decreased or increased by raising or lowering the Midtone Contrast Layer opacity. I’ve found
    that the proper setting can usually be found between 20% and 40% opacity. Above 40% one risks creating “halo” artifacts
    that are visually distracting.

  • How can I get a serial number for Photoshop CS6 when I have the student version of Photoshop CS5?

    Is my CS5 serial number supposed to work for CS6?

    No.
    You must pay for CS6 and then you will receive a new CS6 serial number.
    Or join the Creative  Cloud for a monthly fee.

  • How can users remedy install failure for Windows Photoshop CS6 v13.0.2?

    Error code U44M1P7 is obviously a catchall for any of several possibilities. The suggestion to manually download the update is useless. It isn't available. (A bad link leads to Mac version.) As for the other possibility, many other users and I have deleted the unneeded language files either by use of a cleanup utility or manually, on purpose. Any installer that has unspecific error codes, while not allowing for a sensible change that  economizes space needs to be rewritten. An awful lot is riding on the integrity of the Adobe Download Manager, and its occasional failures are maddening. I run CC and CS6 Creative Suites, and I need to  keep them both because CC has 'broken' so many plugins.
    It would be very helpful to know where ADM puts downloaded files and have an option to save them before installing. It took me two runthroughs to get CC installed and I've tried for the CS6 update four times so far with no copy of the installer to reuse. At its best, ADM is lethargic to respond, and there remains the statistical near-certainty that the site will be down when someone needs to use it. Personally, I think the 'Cloud' is a lousy paradigm. I know I'm not the only one who looks back fondly on the days of physical media, or at very least downloads that could be burned to physical media. The whole cloud thing is still in its infancy, and a lot of user time iwasted while Adobe learns (and invents) the ropes. Maybe one day, when there is a 100% installed base of high speed fiber optic connections, the cloud will make our lives easier. It certainly hasn't done so yet.

    No worries Kloaster – you should just be able to use the direct links instead to get whichever Adobe applications you want and copy/save the offline installers for backup or burn to DVD for later reuse whenever or wherever you want:
    All Adobe CS6 Direct Links, without the Download Manager or Assistant
    and/or
    All Adobe CC Direct Links, without the Application Manager or Desktop App

    How can I change the font in emails sent on my ipad or at least have the email retain the font that I copy & paste into it?

    There is no way that I know of within the native iPad email app. You might want to search the app store for a third party app that lets you change fonts if this is important.

    David.

    Paragraph breaks are good for readability. ;-)
    Have you noticed any difference between your MacBook and others at the Apple store? Wondering whether this is a configurable setting at the system level, i.e., DPI.
    You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:
    * Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    * NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
    There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future.

    You haven't mentioned which mail it is,
    If it is G-mail go to settings --> general tab--> default text style , you can change your font size & then save at the bottom of the page

    (1) Web site requires you to sign in each time
    Web sites generally remember your browser by a cookie they set.
    If you have changed your cookie settings (for example, by clearing them using Clear Private Data when you close the browser) or installed new third party software (security suite, system cleaner, etc.), you might be clearing the site's cookie.
    In some cases, it's possible that cookies can become corrupted. To clear the site's cookies, when viewing the site:
    "right-click" (Mac equivalent!) and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In that dialog, you can remove the cookies. After reloading the page, you should be required to log in again and the site will create new cookies.
    (2) Remember font size setting
    Are you using a feature of your email site to increase the font? If the site can't remember that for you, then there might be an indirect solution (a hack) to fix it. Which webmail site is it? There might be a userscript available.
    If you mean Firefox's zoom setting, then Firefox should remember that between visits.

  • How can I copy a Font Book library with "Collections" to my 2nd laptop?

    How can I copy a Font Book library with "Collections" to my 2nd laptop?
    I have a number of fonts (approx. 500) on my work laptop which are sorted to different Collections. I'd like to have a copy of the Font Book library with Collections on the laptop I use at home to work. I'd think there was a more straight forward way to do it, but I haven't found any posts regarding the matter so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    To anyone who is reading this based on needing to copy their Font Book to another machine as I do, there is a way to make a copy of the fonts in Font Book by going to file/export fonts. Keep in mind that you will need to have all the fonts selected (command A) in your "All Fonts" list for them to be exported. You will then have a new folder saved to where ever you chose, with all your Font Book fonts in it.
