How can I have Premiere Elements 8 recognize a Panasonic AG-DV2000 deck?

I select the AG-DV 2000 deck from the drop down menu but it won't recognize the Firewire connection. I also have a AG-DV2500 deck that it does
recognize.

In Premiere
Elements 8, I go to the
Edit Menu, to Preferences, to Device Control, to Options.
A drop down DV/HDV Device Control Settings window
allows me to select:
Video Standard: NTSC
Device Brand: Panasonic
Device Type: AG-DV2500P
Timecode Format: Auto Detect
Check Status reads "Offline" when the AG-DV2500P is connected.
It reads "Online" when an AG-DV2000P machine is connected and
selected as the Device Type in the drop down menu.

  • How can I download Premiere Elements 11 on my new computer, since my previous computer broke down?

This summer I bought and downloaded Premiere Elements 11 to my previous computer, which a few months later broke down.
How can I download Premiere Elements 11 to my new computer?
In my Adobe account, I see the product listed with the serial number - but the specific download is "not applicable"...

Did you download and purchase the original installation files from Adobe? Did your old computer have a Windows operating system? Does your new computer have a Windows operating system?
I suggest that you contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=downloading-installing -and-setting-up
When the link opens, click on "I still need help." to bring up the Adobe Chat.
Alternatively, you could download the files from the following and then insert your purchased serial number.

Read the instructions carefully. In such a try, I am assuming that both old and new computers involve the Windows.

  • How can I activate Premiere Elements 12 (Win)?

I couldn't find the place where I can activate Premiere Elements. I have the serial number and an activation code. But where do I type in the serial number and activation code?

    Franz Overbeck
If you have Premiere Elements 12 Windows, when you start the installation of the program (from installation files or disc), before the installation process goes anywhere, you are asked for serial number and country, among other things. Later on, when the program is installed, the program restarted, a Sign In dialog should appear requiring you to enter your Adobe ID and Password.
My blog post goes into a step by step of Premiere Elements 12 Windows installation
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2013/12/pe12-adobe-idpassword-requirement-for.html
Where in that process are you?
I am not sure where your activation code comes into this.
Did you purchase Premiere Elements 12 as a purchased download from Adobe or as a purchased boxed product from an authorized reseller?
Please review and supply further details.
    Thanks.

  • How can you get Premiere Elements to recognize hardware.  It will NOT recognize my Dazzle Video Capture device or either of two HP DVD burntes. I feel like I wasted my money.

That should have read, It will NOT recognize my Dazzle device or either of 2 HP DVD burners.

    TNTerri
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
If Premiere Elements 13, please be advised that it does not support DV or HDV capture firewire. And, any USB devices
have never worked for that purpose for Premiere Elements (any version).
As for the burner not being recognized in the Burner Location field of burn dialog of the program, please consider
(if you are dealing with DVD CD burner rather than a Blu-ray DVD CD burner.
CD, DVD drive not recognized after Adobe application install | Windows
Depending on how matters progress, you may want to do an uninstall reinstall using the following scheme
Uninstall, the usual Control Panel way
Do a free ccleaner run through to get rid of leftovers from incomplete installs reinstalls
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
We might even involve later a deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and, if necessary, the whole Folder in
which it exists. More on the latter later.

  • How can I uninstall Premiere elements?

I am a long time user of Elements and upgraded from Elements10 to Elements 11, which I do not like.
There was no way I could uninstall elements 11 in "Add and Remove Programs" so I had to do a search and manually remove every Elements reference. Tried to reinstall Elenents 10 from my CD, but it would only try, and fail, to uninstall.
Although Elements is now not listed in either C Drive Programs or in All Programs, Premiere Elements is still listed in Add Remove Programs, again with no option to uninstall it.
How can I remove it from Add Remove Programs so that I can re-install the program? I am using Windows XP.

    IanCholsey
I would suggest that you do a regular and registry cleaning of your Windows XP using a program such as ccleaner.
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
including its option to backup registry before its cleaning.
After it has done its job, if necessary, you can
    Run: regedit
and use the Ctrl+F "Find What" to find and delete what it finds for the specifically related "Adobe Premiere Elements 11". There may be a lot of entries so be patient as you go through that process. You will be notified by the system when it cannot find any more entries.
A Google search will probably bring up other possibilities for dealing what may be the side effects of incomplete installations. But I have used ccleaner for this purpose and have not had any horror stories from it to date.

  • How can I download Premiere Elements 8?

Both my desktop and my laptop that had Adobe Premiere Elements 8 are no longer working.  I am unable to download my copy of it to put on my new computer.  How do I get permission to download it?
    Thanks

    John T. Smith
you may be able to register a trial version with your serial number
I do not believe that would be possible. The Adobe tryout is always the current version which would be 12, not 8 which is drastically different in many respects from 12.
I suspect the answer resides in Adobe Customer Service and getting lilthea to the purchased files. I had hoped that the link that I provided would direct the inquiry to the appropriate Adobe Dept. and not give the result "ineligible to use it". That would be so if lilthea was asking for troubleshooting for the purchased product.
If you do not have it, I will search around for a better link for lilthea to make contact with Adobe Customer Service.
    More later.
    Thanks.

  • How can I install Premiere Elements for XP using CDs on to a Vista laptop?

I am decommission old desktop with XP but installing on to a Vista laptop fails at point of installing Window Media 9

Thanks for replying. Version 1. it did eventually install! Even though I get the message "the currently installed sound card driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible" I am not sure if this really matters. I can load video media and it plays sound. I am decommissioning on XP desktop to a not quite so old laptop so it looks like I will be able to transfer old Elements files which I did not want to loose just yet. So far so good.

  • Can't get Premiere Elements 9 to recognize my video

I have Premiere Elements 9 and I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't let me import video files that are already on my computer - like those from my FlipCam - with video. The audio is there but no video. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the format appears to be .avi.
Additionally, Elements does not recognize my Canon video camera (admittedly its a couple of years old) to capture video. After hooking it up to a firewire port and turn it on, Elements has no recognition that the camera is there.
    Please help!!
    Thank you

    Hi Steve and Hunt,
(Steve I sent this response to you before I realized I could respond to my initial post. Hopefully this will help generate some new ideas for my problems.)
Thank you for your response. Let me start by saying trouble shooting computer problems is not my specialty. So hopefully I'll be better able to answer your questions than my initial post. Steve and Hunt my responses to your questions below:
    1. When you started your Premiere Elements project, did you choose the correct settings for Flip video?
Not entirely sure. When I go to "get media" I click on the appropriate area I would like Premiere to get the video from. If there are other specifications I am not sure where to find them. Also I realized later that I was unclear about where I was getting the file from. It IS a flip video, but I was trying to pull it from a file already on my computer - NOT trying to directly import it from the flip camera. When I try to pull over these flip camera videos, Premiere pulls over the audio from it but NO video.
    2. Did you get your video into your project by connecting your camcorder to your computer and then using Get Media/From Flip AVCHD Hard Disk camcorder, which opens the Video Importer?
I tried, but am still not able to get video directly from the flip camera. Likewise am not able to pull the flip camera video from a file on my computer.
As for trying to capture video from my Canon mini DV video camera (model ZR90), the program doesn't recognize that my camera is there so I'm not able to capture any video. If it helps this camera is at least 5 years old.
Windows Movie Maker also does not recognize that my camera is there and turned on. Movie Maker though is able to pull the flip camera videos with video and audio onto its template
    3. Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
I just tonight downloaded a new version of Quicktime
    4. What operating system are you running?
    Windows XP
    5. As Steve asks, what is the Project Preset, and what are the full specs. of the files from the Flip, plus from your Cannon?
I'm not exactly sure what specs I should be looking for: size, frame rate? Is AVI movie file helpful at all?  I read the article but I'm still unsure about what details I should be looking for. Sorry .
Thanks for taking a look. Please let me know if you have any other questions for me
    Michelle

  • On how many computer can I install Premiere Elements (one licens)

On how many computer can I install Premiere Elements (one licens)

    number
What are the computer operating systems involved? Are you installing from installation files (from online download purchase) or from installation disc
(from purchase in boxed packaging)? Answers to those questions would probably get you the best possible answer to your question.
    If installation files.....
You are not going to be able to install a Premiere Elements Windows purchased serial number on a Mac computer or a Premiere Elements Mac
purchased serial number on a Windows computer.
    If installation discs...
Box packaging typically comes with two installation discs....one for Windows and one for Mac. In this type of situation, typically you use one
serial number for them both. If that is the case, then the following applies...
Adobe allows you to use the same purchased activated serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. And, you do not use them at the same time.
If you are dealing with two computers with the same operating system, then you should be able to use that same purchased serial number for that operating system on no more than 2 of your computers. Again, you do not use them at the same time.
Please let us know if any questions or need clarification.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Very glad that the Restore Workspace resolved the issue.
As for version 13, there have been several removals and some additions to this version.
DV and HDV Captures are gone, webDVD is gone. The version does not support Windows XP, Windows Vista, or
Mac OSX 10.7. The Elements Organizer 13 that comes
with it is new - even has a slideshow for the Mac people as well as the Windows people. This slideshow is different
than that offered in the past - 720p or 1080p slideshows (AVCHD.mp4) with a choice of 5 different themes.
If you are thinking about 13, definitely go the free 30 days tryout from Adobe route prior to any purchase
to assure the compatibility of the program with your computer environment as well as your project goals.
I have written very detailed blogs on
    Premiere Elements 13 First Look
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: Premiere Elements 13 First Look Details
    and
    Premiere Elements 13 Daily Discoveries
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: Premiere Elements 13 Daily Discoveries
and they should give you a good idea of what to expect. The blogs come with no ads, no registration, free - just my place
to keep my observations on Premiere Elements.
If you do try version 13, I would leave your version 12 installed but closed. Use one program at a time. And, then decide
on the program that best serves your video editing needs.

  • I have new 2T iomega external HD (Mac Companion) - my Mac (2.8 GHz i7 - Lion OS) will not recognize HD if hooked up with Firewire, but it does recognize if hooked up via USB - how can I get it to recognize with Firewire?

I have new 2T iomega external HD (Mac Companion) - my Mac (2.8 GHz i7 - Lion OS) will not recognize HD if hooked up with Firewire, but it does recognize if hooked up via USB - how can I get it to recognize with Firewire?

Try a different FW800 cable and also try doing a SMC reset. If neither work try another FW800 device to see if it's recognized, if it is then  you know it's not the Mac it's probably the EHD.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
