how can i hide 1 contact in 4g so if i call on this contact the number will not display in recant list..

It doesn't matter whether your on a 4G network or a 3G network, you can't hide contacts.

In the tab "Notifications" it does have a box that Needs Ticking to Show the Status changes in Messages. (I have not tried Setting it and then Unticking it to see if that works - sort of in reverse)
I also don't remember using it before to Set this.
I consider several of the Chax settings to mimic the same thing iChat 4 already does.
These maybe an hangover from previous version though.
Having said that their Site suggests using the correct version for the OS/iChat version you are using suggesting they were created from the Ground up or very close to it for each version of iChat
I have not seen anything on removing the Message's Notifications.

How can I hide a contact's status changes?

It is a pain to scroll through the history of a conversation with all of the status changes mixed in with my conversations. Is there a way to suppress seeing these? It seems like I could hide these several years ago (perhaps with the older version of Chax) but I can no longer find this option anywhere.

Ok.
Open System Preferences, Apple Logo icon in the menu bar and then System Preferences or the Sys Pref iocon in the Dock and go to the Internet Accounts area and look at your iCloud account. It should list what is and isn't synced by a checkmark next to each item.
Also in the Contacts app click on Contacts in the menu bar and select Preferences then accounts and make sure your iCloud account is listed. You can also do that from the Internet Accounts area in System Preferences.

Everything that you have checked in your icloud settings will be shared between devices using the same Apple ID. If you don't want icloud to share that information, then simply turn off that process under settings > icloud

Sync your iPad with computer iTunes.
Note: your contacts should be in computer Outlook (Windows) or Contacts (Mac) application.
If you have iCloud configured in iPhone, do the same for iPad.
Setttings > iCloud >
     Account: your Apple ID
     Contacts: ON
     Documents & Data: ON
