How can I host multiple DNS zones using OS X Server?

Simply that. I want to host several zones and can't find a UI to do it.
Is it a case of hacking at the named config files and never using the UI again? That would seem rather ridiculous.

Solved myself. The advanced options in DNS manager don't appear unless you tick "Show all records" in the drop down. Checking that gives access to many more types of entry in the "+" menu, and also enables editing existing zones via double-clicking them.

i have data in files which i need to read/parse and insert/update the database. can someone tell me how can i read multiple statements at a time and process using multiple objects.

This doesn't seem like too much of a JDBC question or at least the answer as I see it isn't unique or specific to JDBC.
If you want to run multiple processes within your single program then you need to use Java threads. I would recommend you read up on how to properly code Java threads and if you have questions unique to your multi-threaded JDBC implementation come back and ask those questions.
You may also want tot take advantage of a transaction manager that includes a database connection pool that will handle most of the complexity for you. Depending on the flexibility of your architecture you may not have to do any thread coding at all when using a transaction manager.

Hosting Multiple DNS Zones on different servers How To?

Hello, I have an issue that I would like one of the experts to help out with.
I am currently facing an issue with DNS. I currently need to be able to ping certain machines on my internal domain by their external IP address.
Example: machineA.domain.local has IP address 192.168.1.10 but from the inside of my network I would need to be able to ping machineA.domain.local and have it resolve to my EXTERNAL IP ADDRESS.
Now as far as I know using a split DNS would solve this issue. Herein lies my issue.
My DNS works half the time. Sometimes I will ping machineA.domain.local and it will resolve the internal address and sometimes it would resolve the public IP address (which I set manually in my split DNS)
Now, my reasoning for this is because there are multiple entries with the same machine name on the same domain controller that resolve to different IP addresses. So when I ping machineA.domain.local the reply will be a "confused" reply.
Here is what I tried to do to correct the issue. I created another Windows Server 2008 R2 machine with only the DNS role installed. I then removed the split DNS from my domain controller and added the zone "zone.domain.com" with the A record "machineA.domain.com"
I did not join the domain with the new machine as I did not believe it to be necessary.
The machines on the inside still cannot ping "machineA.domain.com", nor can my new server successfully ping "machineA.domain.local". It can resolve "machineA.domain.com" but I am fairly certain this is because I added it in
the DNS zone.
I tried to go a little further and tried to connect to the domain controller DNS via the MMC snap in on my new server. I get an error telling me that the access is denied.
In order to attempt to fix that I added the computer in the properties of the DNS in the security tab. I also added the newly created server to the DNS admins group.
Nothing works I am not sure what I am doing incorrect but I would need to know how I can do the following
A) Successfully (if possible) have 2 different zones on the same domain
example: internal.domain.local and external.domain.com
I would need to know how to be able to successfully ping the machines I need to ping that resolves to the external IP address from the inside without having the internal A record in the DNS zone interfere.
I would also need to know how I could connect to the domain controllers DNS via another computer (the new server) without having the access is denied error.
Once again, I tried to use a split DNS on the same server which yielded mixed results. I cannot have the machines replying randomly or go down because 2 DNS zones are on the same machine.

You can run multiple domains in postfix/Mac OS X server, but don't get bogged down with the hostname.
There is nothing wrong with mail for a [email protected] being delivered to/from a server.example2.com (or vice versa). Most users never see the hostname of the server in the process, so don't bother trying to create multiple hostnames on the server to make this work. If you're really bothered just create records in your DNS that map back to the same IP address (e.g. server.example1.com -> 1.2.3.4, server.example2.com -> CNAME -> server.example1.com) so users can use either hostname.
For the accounts, there are two ways of managing multiple domains, depending largely on your comfort level with the command line vs. GUI, and how the users map.
If the usernames are the same (e.g. [email protected] is the same person as [email protected]) then the simplest thing to do is tell postfix to accept mail for both domains - mail addressed to either domain (example1.com or example2.com) will route to the same user's mailbox.
If your users are different then you can either use Mac OS X-style aliases or postfix aliases.
The Mac OS X-style aliases work through Workgroup Manager - you add all your users to the main directory, and create additional shortnames for each user's email addresses. For example, you might have a user 'joe' who is also '[email protected]', so add that second email address as a shortname.
Postfix-style aliases require setting up in the command line, where you create maps of email addresses to users, and is well documented on various postfix-driven web sites.

How can I upload multiple photos without using an app?

I'm a special education teacher, and I teach a photography lab that teaches students how to scan and edit photos. We use the school's set of Ipad2's in order to crop the photos since the majority of students I have don't have the hand eye coordination neccisary to crop using a desktop computer and mouse. The problem I'm running into, however, is that our IT department wont let me download any apps onto the iPads. I've asked on six seperate occasions in order for them to update the iPads to ios7 and to give teachers the permission to install apps-- the first request coming at the start of the school year-- and they havent responded to any of them, so I'm not holding my breath.
Currently, I'm uploading all of the photos my students scan to my personal dropbox account, and the students access that and download each photo individually onto their ipads. Not the easiest thing for special education students to do, but its doable. I have not found an easy way to get the cropped photos off the ipads, however. Any ideas? I could attach each photo to an email, allthough thats more trouble than its worth most times. Dropbox will only allow me to upload one photo at a time, and keeps overwriting the photo I previously uploaded with the new one if I try to upload a second photo. Photo stream is the obvious answer, but icloud is disabled on all the ipads and only IT can turn it back on, something they've been unwiling to do

I worked in IT on the university level for four years so it's really frustrating to see more safeguards in place in a public school district any university. If we're trying to teach these kids to be ready for real life and then block out and don't let them use half the technology they're going to encounter in real life, well I just don't get that. But that's another rant for another time.
How I do it is I save all of the photos my students scan onto my external hard drive, then transfer them to my personal computer and upload them to dropbox using Dropbox for windows (or whatever the desktop application is called) . I then have my students go to dropbox.com on the iPad, login as me, and go through each photo, saving each to the iPad as they go.
I should have said upfront that when I try to connect the iPad to my personal computer it charges the iPad but won't recognize under my computer or show up in iTunes, so I am unable to see any of the data on it. I'm pretty sure it's not the 30 pin connector that's malfunctioning because I've tried with two of them. I can only check if it registers with iTunes on my personal computer because I can't download iTunes on school computers since I don't have administrator privileges

It's actually a little more complicated than that.
I have a site, let's call it site.com, and it's hosted just fine on my Mac Mini, accessible via the Internet and everything.
I want to use the .co domain of my site, which is pointed to the same IP as .com in DNS records, for the Wiki feature. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure OS X Server won't let you use both a custom website AND Wiki, but besides that I want the two on different domains.
I have a Parallels VM of OS X 10.9 with Server installed and more or less configured for Wiki with the .co domain.... I feel like I'm really close, here, maybe just a couple of steps away, but alas, I'm stuck, mostly because all the guides I've found that cover this do so with earlier versions of OS X Server, and aren't quite doing what I want to do (another domain and Wiki as opposed to just adding a Site to the list, so I think I absolutely need a VM here).
I'm pretty sure I have to configure the DNS settings of the OS X Server instance in the host OS, and I have an IP to give it (if I put that into a browser in the host OS X, it takes me to the .co site, but going directly to .co just takes me to .com).
Any ideas?

What I want to do is host a site on my .mac account as I do now. I want to add a personal domain and host a separate site. Can I do this?
When I set up the personal domain it now sends both sites to that domain. How do I keep them separate?

I used to be able to print multiple copies of the same picture on one page using iphoto. There was a customise button when you went through to print and it was there somewhere. I can't see it anymore - maybe since an upgrade.
It's gone. But as a work-around, duplicate your photo (⌘D) to create as many versions as you want copies and select all at once. Then use the "Custom" print layout and set the photo size you want.
After printing, trash the added versions.
