How can I import SMS or MMS messages from android

Switching my wife from Android to iPhone but want to import here SMS/MMS activity.  I found apps on Android that can export or import text files but I'm not sure how to import those to iPhone.  Is there an App that exists on both platforms that can smoothly do this?

Well, I am thinking about iPhone for the first time. My five years old phone is smartphone, but very early one (HP iPAQ 514, running Windows Mobile 6). I know that transfering data between different systems might be difficult, but on the other hand, we have the end of 2011, so I believe in interoperability (at least via third party apps).
Anyway, I've discovered few softwares that can export my messages from my old phone and put it into a file on a computer (in different formats, such as .sms, .txt., .xml or .csv; depends on software and options). But the question is, how to import it into new iPhone.
I've also noticed (from various discussions), that iPhone-related messages are usually saved somewhere in iTunes (something.mdbackup), but again, the question is, how to import it back to phone..
To be honest, I am quite surprised that there is not some easy on-click way (or at least tons of how-to or tutorials). The iPhone is quite a new product (since 2007) and before it there was already quite a large mobile and smartphone market - so "transferring data" should be already solved.. (similar to transferring contacts, calendars and so on).

I've tried to fix this by changing the IMAP account's Junk settings so that they are moved either to the
    "Junk" folder on 'account name'
    or
Other: (drop down list for choosing accounts and one of its folders) Junk on 'account name'
I am sure I lost all of my important, not junk mail, amazon.com messages as well as other messages from comercial sites.
Secondly: Please tell me what the difference is between the 2 junk folder choices above.
    Thank you,

  • My iPhone 5S drowned in a rainstorm. How can I retrieve contacts and text messages from iCloud backup onto my iPad mini?

My iPhone 5S drowned in a rainstorm. How can I retrieve contacts and text messages from iCloud backup onto my iPad mini? There are some contacts on the iPad already but nowhere near all of them. I need to re-enter the contacts manually into an iPhone 4 as it does not support iOS 8.

Let me get this straight.....You lost your phone.  You never backed it up, either to your computer or to a cloud service.
How in the world would you expect to get data back?

Unless you had them backed up somewhere, I'm afraid they are gone.

  • How can I import SMS / MMS from old phone to iPhone?

Greetings. I wonder, how can I import messages (SMS and MMS) from my old phone to a new iPhone? I have my current phone for about five years and I have there many important messages I can't afford to lose. I know, that exporting messages is often tricky (my old phone is using Windows Mobile 6), but there are some programs that can export messages to various formats (.xml, .txt, .sms etc.). But the question is, how to import these messages into iPhone.
Is it possible via iTunes? Is there an app? Sould I visit Apple Store or support? Thank you for any ideas.

  • How to import sms and mms data from 6600 to N73

Hi to all, I'm trying to import all my old data on my nokia 6600, to my new N73 ME, fw rel V 3.0368.0.0.30, because I don't like the idea to lose all my sms and mms from the old phone. I encountered a lot of problems. First thing, the transfer apps only leaves to import via bluetooth and so on data like contacts and multimedia. So I tried to copy from dir mail of the mmc of Nokia 6600 to the dir mail2 under hidden folder Private on the mini sd of my new N73. What happens? In the first moment it seems all ok, because when I switch under sms to memory cards, the N73 read all the sms like they were on phone. But first of all, it doesn't see the mms, it see only the title, but when I open them it gives me error. This doesn't happens with sms, that are all ok. The problem is that when I turn off the phone, it doesn't turn on anymore, it hangs until I've to remove the mini SD. After many tries, I've understood that maybe the problem is with the file index in mail2 folder. Someone has any idea or have tried to import sms and mms from his old Nokia phone to the new N73 and so could help me? Thanks.

have u actually tried to connect the 6600 with the latest PC suite to see what happens?
if that fails, maybe have a look at the Oxygen Phone Manager software and see if they offer a free trial. i know i used to use OPM before nokia updated there PC suite to work with my 3230Message Edited by rich_enduro on 02-Jan-2007

  • How can I import a previous recipient list from Snow Leopard?

I just upgraded computers and did a clean install without Migration Assistant. How can I import the previous recipient list in Mail? As a way of having a backup, I deleted my address book on the old computed, added all the previous recipients to the Address Book, and exported the address book as an Address Book Archive and also a VCF file.
    Thanks.

    PAHU,
To answer your question, the new AIO is also a Canon, an MG8120 - I could be wrong, but I got the impression the printer removal might have been part of the Lion upgrade code.  i.e. "I see you have a new printer, do you  want to keep the old printer that I can't find?"
I see the IJScanner and Devices folders.  Given that both AIOs are/were Canons, any suggestions on how to remove just the MP970 components without affecting the MG8120 ones?  (The ones in the TWAIN Data Sources were clearly labeled, so it was easy to tell what belonged to what.)
    Thanks in advance.
Sorry for the delay in responding.  I must have my notifications messed up.  Never got an e-mail indicating there had been a reply to my question.

  • Can I recover sms and mms messages if I have never backed up my iphone?

    Hello,
I am completely new to the Apple family and am having a hard time understanding how the initial backup to iCloud affects my deleted iMessages, SMS, and MMS correspondences. I want to recover a group of SMS and MMS conversations that my toddler deleted...I know...I know - so green I did not even initiate the lock screen. To be honest, we don't lock devices in our home. I have never backed-up/signed into iCloud from my iphone. I keep seeing posts about texts/pic not being "really" deleted as some can find them in a search. Is it possible to recover these at all without using thrid party software? Some part of me believes that becasue I have never backedup my phone, the deleted data is just waiting to be "dumped" into iCloud...maybe that is the illogical and sleep deprived part. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you “Synced” your iPhone "SMS" to iTunes and/or backup to the cloud, you may be able to recover messages from an iPhone SIM Card. I use a program called iOS data recovery that will take the text messages from the backup and allow you to restore them and/or back them up to an external application.
    Restore from iTunes backup:
Step 1: Connect your iPhone to the PC/Mac
    Step 2: Open iTunes
Step 3: Click on Devices tab
Step 4: Right-click on the iPhone that’s connected and click ‘Backup’
Step 5: Note that this will effectively remove all old information on your iPhone and get the backup data on your iPhone. If you had backed up sms too in your previous iTunes backup, those will be restored to the iPhone and you should mostly recover that deleted sms messages now.

  • How can I block persistent unwanted text messages from Games Co.

One day an uninvited text message arrived on my iPhone to click to win an iPad. Stupidly I clicked, won nothing, but now I get daily SMS messages and Safari website from a US games Co. Trying to sell games, wallpaper and other junk. Trying to unsubscribe the "home" website is a blank page and the contact phone number is permanently engaged. This is more than inconvenient it's stressful. How can I block this daily scam on my iPhone?

It is pure and simple deception and Apple should have a remedy.
You're right. I mean, all they have to do is snap their fingers and wish the scam out of existence.
What makes you think Apple is responsible for chasing down scams on the Internet?

  • How can I get rec'd text messages from the same subscriber not be appended

    Hi,
Is there a way to configure the Apple iphone so that text messages from the same subscriber are displayed separately rather than appended to each other? In this way accidentally deleting one message wouldn't delete the entire history of messages from this subscriber.
When I launch the SMS service by pressing the green SMS button I am met by a screen that says Text Messages. On the left of this there is a button that says Edit and on the right there is one that is for writing a new message. Down the page are my messages all grouped by the originator of each messages. If I choose one I see that all messages from this source are present appended one after the other. There is also the option now to Clear on the top right hand corner. It is this Clear option I am worried about. If I choose Clear I am asked for a confirmation and then lo and behold as expected all my messages from this subscriber are deleted.
This is a work phone for support purposes and most of the texts will be from the telephone operator (i.e. the one same number) saying we have an email waiting to be read with a subject title giving a little description. I want to be in a position so that I don't accidentally delete the entire history of messages, say some evening when I'm tired or Monday morning if I 'm a bit asleep. Ideally I would prefer that each text message would stand alone in the Text Messages window irrespective of the originator and not be appended in a group fashion. Is there a way to do this?
    Kind regards,
    M

There is no way to do that on the iPhone. Messages will always be grouped into a 'conversation' based on the sender/recipient. Only Apple can change that behavior.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • How can I import my .mac address book from online to my computer?

My macbook was stolen last week, and I am now using an older iBook that we had, but I haven't been able to retrieve my mail address book from the backups I was making. I have most of the contacts in my address book when using .mac web-based email, but not on my computer. I am afraid to turn on syncing because I don't want my computer to erase all the addresses stored online. How can I reverse sync, and get my online address book to import to my computer?
    Thanks.

go to 'system prefernces > .Mac > advanced > reset sync data'
Then choose to replace everything on your compu with .Mac data. (Back up before you begin! or is there really nothing to back up, then don't bother of course)

  • How can I import my Favourites, cookies etcetera from Internet Explorer 9 into Firefox 7?

I used Internet Explorer 9 before, but I want to start using Firefox 7 as my standard browser, but I want to keep my old Favourites. How can I do that?

If Firefox doesn't offer to import the Opera bookmarks then export the bookmarks in Opera to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.
