How can I improve quality of image when burning a movie to a DVD?

What resolution are you using? If the DVD is to be playable on an ordinary DVD player, only ordinary TV resolution is supported. You need Blue ray for HD.

I have a VI that plays an audio signal out of an audio card but the quality isn't that great in real time when I modify it. I can create the audio signal in mathematica 6 and it sounds great but labview has some issues can anyone recommend a way to improve the way the qualtiy of the audio signal sounds...Do I need to increase buffers or memory allocation to labview if so how can I do that.

I'm creating different audio sounds using equations using mathscript. The generate sound.vi is what I used along with mathscript. Every once in awhile I can here a drop out... (I have good ears :-) I'm just trying to find out a way to increase the buffers or memory to labview to prevent drop outs from occuring from the sound card.

How can I include "sort name" column when burning a playlist to disc?

I noticed the "sort name" info is missing in the burnt disc. How can I preserve the info? I spent some times in correcting some sorting order in my library and I want that info to be in my backup too.

The sort fields should be getting stored in the files' tags, assuming they have tags. When buring an audio disc this information will be lost. It ought to be preserved when using the iTunes backup function, however you may be better off using a 3rd party backup tool to backup the entire iTunes folder.
N.b. You've posted in the Using iTunes for Windows forum but your sig says you're a Mac User, otherwise I'd recommned SyncToy 2.0 for your backup. I'm not familiar enough with Mac to suggest a suitable replacement.

How can I improve quality of photos in In Design Brochure?

I'm trying to create an In Design Brochure but am finding that many of the photos are pixellated despite being of high res 300 dpi. Is it better to use photos with a higher or lower resolution that I want to be for example a sixth of A4 on a page? I can't understand why as these photos look fine when I've used them in other non Adobe publications previously. Your help would be most useful. Should I post this in Photoshop forum? Thanks you

Did you turn on high quality preview in the context menu when clicking with the right mouse button on an image?
Is the actual resolution still 300 ppi (not dpi)? Have a look into the link panel. If they are scaled in InDesign, the resolution will change too. (Are they scaled in InDesign?)
300 ppi is good enough for the most puposes.

How do i set the spalsh image when i export movie?

I am exporting a movie that will be posted on vimeo. when i upload it, the default "splash image" that appears is some random blur. I would like a specific shot from my movie be the "splash image" that appears as the preview for the movie.
How do i set this? i tried putting a single frame in front of the movie and that didnt work. I would def appreciate any insight into this.

It is called a thumbnail image and is set by either youtube or vimeo. in vimeo, go to the video settings and change the thumbnail preview.

How can I change the song order when burning a CD?

I'm trying to burn about 20 songs to a CD. However they are in alphabetical order in the burn folder which I don't want. I want then in the original order they were performed. How do I re-order them before burning?
A related question: eventually I will add them to iTunes and I'll want to add info such as the artist's name, album name, etc (these were recorded live by me so they're "blank" audio files). Is there a way to add this info prior to importing into iTunes so I don't have to manually add the same info to each track?

Here's what I ended up doing:
I took the blank songs and added them one-by-one as WAV files into iTunes. Then I modified the "get info" summaries and added the artist name and album name to each. But now I had these huge WAV files... too large to burn back to my iPod. So I created a playlist in iTunes for the 20 songs and then burned them to a CD. Then I deleted the songs from iTunes, then re-imported them from the CD.
Kind of convoluted, but it worked and didn't really take THAT long. I now have the songs on my iPod with all the artist info and a backup CD with the same info and as WAV files.

Had same problem with iPhoto pictures and poor burn quality. Went back to original picture file and dragged images into idvd project from there. Set encoding at professional quality and burned at slowest speed. Got very good result with high quality slideshow when played on TV.
Also tried Old Toad's Aug 30, 2011 advice to get a slideshow into iDVD with transitions, music, etc. from iPhoto.
Again the quaility of the burned CD was very good.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue. They are labeled for the iPhone; however, the steps also apply to your iPad. Also, make sure to test the camera in well lighted conditions as this can affect picture quality.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Print to pdf and don't use anything with transparency.
Have you ensured all your images are actually high enough resolution for whatever purpose (which you haven't said) you want?

Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke. Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. IF apple decides to drop the Mac Pro for good, and that's a big "IF", I think they will anger a whole bunch of people

When Color correcting, performance severely lags, stalls, freezes!
Nothing to complex...simple 3 way color corrector, occasional curves filters.
I am constantly waiting for the timeline to update as I move around....sometimes as long as a minute or so.
I'm on brand new 2.7 Ghz 12-Core MacPro with 64 GB of RAM

How can I create buttons and images that have a vector like clarity? When I upload images (buttons, jpegs and pngs) a lot of the time they seem to have a slightly fuzzy quality to them. When you place your images in exactly the size you saved them in Photoshop or whatever, Muse doesn’t touch it.
The quality in this case is the quality you saved the image.
The best way is, to examine in Muse the available pixel size of the image and then use Photoshop to obtain this size
A helpful widget to examine the potential size of an image in advance, is the "lore ipsum"-Muse-widget, that you find in the free widget collection "Andrew’s Prototypes":

You would have to lower the compression quality of the JPEG embedding. Aside from that, you might be able to remove unnecessary data from the PDF by using the optimization features in Acrobat.
