How can I increase resolution when saving file as PDF?

I am sending some illustrated files to a professional printing press that only accepts PDFs, however they say the resolution is too low and should be 300dpi. How can I increase resolution? Only option I could find was to try to create a new filter in Color Sync by duplicating PDFX3 filter and editing it to the desired resolution, however I couldn't get new filter to save my resolution inputs. Any help is appreciated!

You really need something like Acrobat which will install a "Save as Adobe PDF" under the PDF menu. You can select press quaility," "high quality print," etc., and get a true high res PDF.
If you'd like to just give it a shot, try downloading one of the OS X CS6 suites that include Adobe Acrobat Pro for a free 30-day trial. I've never used SketchBook Pro, but Acrobat may help you out.

Welcome to the forum.
As Steve points out, a DVD-Video is set in resolution, to 720 x 480 (for NTSC), in either Standard 4:3, or Widescreen 16:9. That is as good as it can get, and is not a limitation of PrE, but of the DVD-Video specs, which were written a long time ago.
The best that one can get is to play that DVD-Video on an up-rezzing DVD player, or most BD players, that also have up-rezzing, to an HD TV monitor. Those players have dedicated chips, JUST for up-rezzing.
Then, and per Peru Bob's questions, I attain the ultimate Still Images to DVD-Video, by doing my Scaling in Photoshop, and using either the Bicubic Sharper, or Bicubic Smoother Scaling algorithms. I Scale my Camera RAW Images to match my Project's Frame Size, and Crop, where necessary to match the Aspect Ratio of my Images, to the Aspect Ratio of the Project, i.e. if going to a 16:9 Widescreen, I will lose some pixels top and bottom, but I account for that, per my asesthetic.
Note: some PrE users insist that the Scaling in PrE is as good as Photoshop's, but my critical eyes point to using PS. Also, I do NOT use JPEG, which is a lossy, compressed format, and will Save_As PSD from Photoshop, for ultimate quality.

Yes, that's the obvious answer I tried many times. THis setting only changes the font I type and send. Everything I receive, no matter where it comes from, including your email suggestion I just printed, comes in at about a 4-point font.
I can increase the font when reading the email, but it's stuck when printing.

Can I enable autocomplete when saving files?

I'm a Mac newbie. One of the Windows features I miss is autocomple when saving files. I tend to work with .jpeg files and name them sequentially, and Windows would help me out by bringing up similar file names. I could then just change the sequence number to make a new file. Is there any way to enable or add this type of feature in 10.6?

I have the same question. Have you heard from anyone on this subject yet. I am going to try burning without the "soundcheck" option to see if that helps, although I suspect that will put the volume in the car all over the map. My theory is that the program has no option other than to limit the volume of the louder recordings to match the volume of the quieter ones. We'll see

How to set jpeg resolution when saving pdf file as jpeg

I'm running Acrobat using interprocess api, I can invoke a script to save a pdf file as JPEG, but I need to be able to set the resolution of the saved jpeg file.
Any clues as to how I can do that ?

I am running a stand-alone version of Framemaket 10.I try to convert a documentation with a lot of screenshots in it. Regardless of the settings on the Reference pages of the first document of the book, Framemaker converts all graphic files to *.gif, and these are downsized so much that they become illegible. I would like to have them converted to JPG, with little resolution loss, so they are still readable.
I think Robohelp is too expensive…

How can I reduce clicking when saving images?

I often open a set of JPEG files and edit them. Unfortunately, saving them after editing is far from streamlined. I have to click three times (save, overwrite, jpeg settings) if I want to save a single file, with wait times in between. Ideally, I would like to save a series of files with just one action, using the same settings for all. Can this be accomplished somehow? Or could I at least configure a default setting for JPEG quality, so it does not need to be asked each time?

Hi crease-up,
I'm facing the same problem with my website. I read iWeb was turning .jpg files into .png files when pictures are resized within the iWeb application. The fix is to resize and apply effects oustside the app and then place them on your pages. (see details under http://www.rowan-cottage.co.uk/Site/iWeb_FAQ.html, scroll down to point 7).
No way near to be a picture software specialist, I use an easy free resizing software called Resize 'Em All (http://www.eagle-of-liberty.com/resizeemall/index_en.php) to resize my pics.
Another free cool software is PNGCrusher (http://www.amake.us/software/pngcrusher/), check it out.
Finally, Picturesque (http://www.acqualia.com/picturesque/) is doing both resizing and effect applying but is a shareware.

How can I retain resolution when cropping?

When I zoom in, the resolution is clear and crisp. However, when I crop to the same level, it becomes blurry. Perhaps it is automatically resizing, but if so, how do I turn that off?

When I press the call key about 10 in/out called numbers show up. My old phone had like 50 previously called or received numbers. How can I increase the number of saved calls?

Unfortunately there is no such setting to increase number of saved calls on the device.

If you have any plans to use Numbers cross platform (i.e. do data entry or dynamic display on an iPad or iPhone or collaboration with others) Numbers 3 brings a lot more to the table than it often gets credit for. It is not a temptation, but a powerful piece of software that, unlike Numbers 2.3, is under active development, now syncs well, and for many users already delivers significant productivity enhancement.
If you, and perhaps your clients, are wedded to old-style printing of highly formatted documents, or you like some of the many niche features that don't work well cross-platform, you will be better off sticking with Numbers 2.3 or moving to Excel.
You can run both versions of Numbers on your Mac at the same time with no problem. Numbers 3 will be in your Applications folder and Numbers 2.3 in a subfolder named iWork '09. If you have both versions installed on your Mac, all you have to do to keep the Numbers 2.3 document in the same format is make sure you open it in Numbers 2.3. If you open it in Numbers 3 by mistake (or open it in Numbers for iOS) you can export it back to Numbers 2.3 format from Numbers 3.0 by File > Export to > Numbers '09...
As always, keep backups.

Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file.
