How can i increase the sound levels?

the volume on all of my tunes seems too low, and changing the loudness feature under settings doesn't help. what can i do?

One thing can help a little is the following. Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'. Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button. Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'. Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

I have two monitors and often watch a film while browsing. How can I change the sound level of firefox so its not too loud?

I just want to be able to control the audio level of firefox separately from other running programs on the puter

Unfortunately, Firefox is yet to have it's own volume control. Consequently, unless a site has it's own volume control, you can not modify firefox's sound.
Personally, I think Firefox having it's own volume control could work out well for digital multitaskers! I'll make a suggestion on bugzilla right now. I will update this post with details of my bug id. later

Have you noticed any difference between your MacBook and others at the Apple store? Wondering whether this is a configurable setting at the system level, i.e., DPI.
You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:

* NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future.

How do I increase the trace level of the dev_server file?

I have a dual stack SCM system and the java stack will no longer start. I'm seeing some messages in the dev_server0 and dev_server1 files, in the work directory. But at the top of those files, it says the current trace level is at 1. I would like to have some further details as to the error. How do I increase the trace level of these files? Thank you.

You can increase the trace level by changing the instance profile
set "jstart/TRACE = 3", (this affects the server0 process)
set "rdisp/TRACE = 2" (this affects the ICM).
Then Restart the ICM and the server process (e.g. from the SAP MMC -
there is no need to restart the entire instance),

I have a song I recorded, with the vocals and backing track on seperate tracks.
The song has been recorded a bit too slow, and I need to increase the tempo. However, when I do this, the vocals become distorted and have a wavy sound.
Is there any way I can increase the tempo of the song without distoring the vocals? I've tried doing it on the final song (merged tracks) and on the vocals alone, but nothing seems to work. It doesn't make sense, since when you do the same thing to a song by a professional artist, you can increase the tempo of the song without distoring the vocals.
What am I doing wrong? How can I increase the tempo of my song without distoring the vocals?

in general GB doesn't do such a great job with changing tempo of audio recordings, what you might find works better is to export your song uncompressed and then use an audio editor:

I have had this same problem for weeks now with my 4S. I just got a new 5S after being extremely frustrated and the same thing - no sounds. After searching posts all over, I couldn't find a solution. I just told my friend of the issue and he asked "Do you have the Do Not Distrub on?" I didn't even know such a function existed. Upon looking that was exactly the issue.
To resolve, go to Settings> Do Not Disturb> Manual. If it is green, turn it off. You will now get phone calls and text alerts.
This functionality is also on your quick access utility menu (slide up menu). I assume this is how it was enabled on my phone.
I will post on other sites since I searched for weeks for this solution and didn't see it anywhere. Good luck!

I'm using a macbook pro (late 2013 with mavericks-10.9.4 ). I installed windows using bootcamp but didn't estimate the storage I required correctly. So now I don't have enough storage in the bootcamp hard drive.
