How can i Install an AIR application on USB drive?

I am new to AIR application development.I want to develop a application which could run from an external USB drive(flash drives). I wanted to know if it is possible to install the application on the USB drive. If so what is the procedure.

That is completely false about Windows. Windows does not automatically get infected with anything the minute you connect it to the net. My god where do you come up with that? I run several Windows PCs and none of them run any malware or anti virus programs and none of them have ever been infected with anything and they are always connected to the Internet. I'm typing this reply from one such Windows PC.
It's all about how you use your computer not the OS it runs. Sure Windows is a much bigger target for the scum of the world to attack as it has 90% of the market so the people that write the viruses and malware programs do it for a system they have a better chance of infecting.
But to ***-U-Me that just because you have Windows and you go to the Net that it will get infected with something is just a Bold Face Lie. And I suspect you know that.
So why not post truths instead of the Lie in your post.
By the way Mac's can also be infected as has been proven recently. So no matter what OS you run you can get infected. Now that is not a Lie.

The two responses above are right- there is no Windows Explorer version that will install in Mountain Lion.
There are a couple of things you can try that might work, short of installing Windows on your machine, either in a virtual machine (like virtual box or parallels) or with bootcamp. Personally, I hate either of those options, just because windows is such a magnet for malware and viruses. The second you expose windows to the internet it becomes infected.

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

OS X cannot natively write to a drive formatted as NTFS, nor can it format a drive as NTFS. There are third-party NTFS drivers available on the market.
Just out of curiosity: Even with NTFS, how is your TV going to access the external hard drive? Does the TV have a USB port?

  • How can i create a Trash for external USB Drives ?

    Hello,
how can i create a Trash for external USB Drives or my TimeCapsule ?
    Thanks.

You do not need to create trash cans for individual drives.  The trash can on the desktop holds deleted files from all mounted drives.
TimeCapsule manages its own space.  If it fills up it will delete older backps to make space for newer ones.

  • How can I install Adobe Reader 11 to a drive other than C:\?

I downloaded Reader 11, but at no point during the installation process am I prompted for an installation location.  How can I install this to a drive other than the C:\?  I keep my C:\ and data storage drive separate so in the event the OS crashes I won't lose my data.  I have limited storage capacity since I'm on a laptop so I didn't make my C:\ very large, so that I would have more room for my D:\.  Any suggestions?
    Sincerely,
                    LT Gannon

having data on a different drive is a good idea.  installing programs on a drive different from you os containing drive is generally not a good idea.  but if you have the expertise and are sure of what you're doing:

  • Can't install Adobe Air Applications!

Installed Adobe Air without problems - but when I try to
install any application it will restart my computer before
completing the install. Usually gets to the... "Would you like to
install desktop icons etc." then I click 'OK' and it reboots my pc.
Any tips? I'm mostly trying to install 'twitter apps' if that
helps... (all have done the same exact thing)

    @Oliver Goldman.
Beta 3 release has been on my machine before but has been
removed. I've gone into the control panel and removed all Air apps
and checked that I've not got any other version of Air on my
    machine.
I then tried the install and the log file outputted the same
    message
    "updater called with args:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
    AIR\Versions\1.0.6\Adobe AIR Updater.exe,-installupdatecheck"
Is there a way of running a clean uninstall similar to the
way it can be done for the Creative Suite because for some reason
the installer thinks I've got the Beta on my machine.
I also tried the registry solution found
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=75&catid=697&threadid =1343058&enterthread=y
It worked for the earlier Beta but those keys are no longer
    there.
Thanks for looking into the problem.

  • I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro, How can I install Windows 7 without an Optical Drive?

For clarity:  I have a mid 2010, Macbook Pro.  I recently decided to upgrade to a Crucial SSD drive, double the ram (8 gigs), and remove the optical drive in favor of using my old drive as a back up.  I am also currently running Yosemite.
I want to install Windows 7 onto my SSD, using bootcamp.  Unfortunately I no longer have an optical drive installed, which makes things difficult as Bootcamp does not even give me the option to create a bootable USB.
Now, this is where things get kinda fuzzy:
MId 2010 macbooks use EFI, and are quite capable of booting from USB.  How do I know?  Because I booted from a USB drive in order to do a fresh install of Yosemite on my SSD.
I have read mutliple forums and threads with claims that folks have had no problems doing this on 2008 Macbook Pros running Snow Leopard.  However, what seemed to be required was some clever .plist modding.  I have used both text wrangler, and x-code to do this, unfortunately upon booting of bootcamp, bootcamp instantly crashes.  Naturally, I can restore bootcamp because I made backups of the .plist file.
It would seem that modffying the .plist file assumes that the option to create a bootable USB device is grayed out.  In my case, it is non existent.
I have also read that folks have had success using rEFIt, however rEFIt has been forked to rEFIned, and the developer of rEFIned made mention on his site that Yosemite handles booting differently than previous versions of OSX.
WIth that, I was hoping that some kind person could explain to me whats going on, what I am missing, and what I can do to make this happen just shy of tearing down my MBP and reisntalling the Optical Drive and dusting off my Win 7 disc.
Also, my Model Number/Bootrom is MBP 6,2.
    Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your reply, and the information.  This is what I came up with:
I added the strings as instructed, however when I went to sign the script in terminal, I was told:
/Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app: replacing existing signature
/Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app: code object is not signed at all
    In subcomponent: /Applications/Utilities/Boot Camp Assistant.app/Contents/info.plist
Also, here are screen captures of the lines that I added.  Mine are the top string entries:
Thank you for your help, thus far!

  • How can I install Adobe Reader on my F: drive (Windows XP)

I have an old computer with a limited C: drive.  My F: drive is much larger.  I want to install Adobe Reader on my F: drive.  How can I do this.?

Assuming that you want to install the English version of Adobe Reader 9.3, download this installer
    http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi
Run it, and once the installer is initialized, you will be presented with this panel
Click 'Change Destination Folder...' and you can specify exactly where you want it to install.
