The five device limit applies only to computers, not iOS devices. You can go into your acount on your computer, through iTunes and deauthorize all five computers (but only if you have five authorized). If you have fewer than five authorized, you need to deauthorize each one individually from the Advanced menu on iTunes on that computer.

How can I install Windows 7 on a Retina MBP with no optical drive?

I'd like to install Windows 7 on a Retina MacBook Pro via Boot Camp.
However, the only distribution of Windows I'm aware of is on a physical disk.
My MBP doesn't have an optical drive. It can't read disks like that.
I'm hoping there's some kind of workaround here, because I'd hate to spend money on an external optical drive I'm only going to use once.
Does Microsoft offer a way to buy Windows 7 via a download?
If so, can I then copy the downloaded installer that onto an external USB hard drive and install from there?
Or is the only option to buy an external optical drive? (If that's the case, any guidance on which one to buy -- can I get away with a generic one or do I need to shell out $80 for Apple's "Superdrive?")
I actually have another Mac that does have an optical drive. Could that help me out somehow?

How can I install Windows 7 on a 2011 MBP that doesn't have an optical drive?

I've looked at a bunch of guides for the MBA and the new RMBP, but they all say that there's a point in the Bootcamp setup that I should be prompted to create a bootable USB installation drive for Windows 7 from a Windows 7 ISO. I don't see that option anywhere in the Bootcamp setup, and it makes me think that's something that only shows up for Macs that officially don't have optical drives.
I have Lion running off of an SSD in the main drive bay and I have a large HDD in the optical bay. I want Windows installed on a partition of the HDD in the optical bay.

I think you can create Windows partitions on drives other than the startup drive. At least, the Bootcamp setup didn't seem to prevent me from doing so. I can get as far as creating the partition, but then Bootcamp expects a Windows CD/DVD to proceed. I have one, but I don't have a drive. I've tried attaching USB drives, but Bootcamp won't install from USB connected optical drives, apparantly.

I would like to do a recovery, but it also doesnt work.
I know there is a shortcut like press the 0 button when the laptop is starting up.
With this shortcut you can start the recovery to reset the software.
But when I press the 0 button it gives me an error.
So I think the recovery drive/partition is lost.

I have found a much easier way to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive. Unlike other methods where you have to write complicated commands, this method can be completed even by those who have very little computer background.
The whole process takes only two steps, run UNetbootin, load the Windows 7 ISO file, and finally restart your computer.
Before you begin, you will require the following:
USB Flash Drive (4GB minimum)
Windows 7 ISO Image file
UNetbootin
Note: If UNetbootin doesnt work, try out the Microsofts official tool called Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool.
Now insert the USB drive, run UNetbootin, and select Disk Image as ISO. Browse your local drive for Windows 7 ISO that you downloaded and click Open. Now Select Type as USB and choose the drive. Once done, it will look like a bit similar to the screenshot shown below.
Click OK and it will begin extracting all installation files to the USB drive. The whole process will take some time (10-15 minutes), so have patience.
Once the installation is complete, reboot your computer. Now while your system is starting up press the appropriate button (usually F1, F2, F12, ESC, Backspace, or Escape) to bring up Bios Boot Menu.
Change the startup order to boot USB by default, usually you will have to press F6 to move the selected USB device on top. Once done, save changes and restart the system.

My computer has 5 vertical purple lines against white screen at startup before the Apple logo appears and the spinning gear...then everything disappears and the screen hangs on the white screen. I have tried unplugging and removing all my peripherals and the COMMAND, OPTION, P & R set of keys and still nothing. I have tried COMMAND C to start up from cd and it only tells me to turn off the computer and turn it back on. You may have hardware problem, I think a visit to your local Apple Store or AASP is in order.
