How can I install CE 7.1 on Win XP Home?
Hello everyone,
I am a newbie!!
I have made several attempts to install CE 7.1 on my XP Home OS but each time I get this error which is frustrating:
An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver CE Developer Edition > Install SAP NetWeaver CE Developer Edition( Last error reported by the step :Assertion failed: SDB check for running processes: C:/WINDOWS/system32/tasklist.exe does not exist. Cannot check for running processes). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Programme/sapinst_instdir/CE71_DEV_ADA/INSTALL.
I have the following requirements:
WinXP Home
SP3
RAM 1GB
In the meantime, I have an ABAP 7.0 Trial Version with MaxDB already running on my system.
Could someone please come to my help with any work-around. Should the detail of the log files describing the errors be required, I would post it immediately.

I have googled, downloaded and installed the tasklist.exe as you suggested. Retried subsequently the CE installtion but got the same error. One thing that is not clear to me is - how do I control if the installation of the tasklist.exe is active?

I have Acrobat 8.0 Pro, and in XP I used to have an Adobe pdf printer in my printer's dropdown list, so that it was possible to convert anything in any application into a pdf document.
Now I had to change the system, and I try to install a pdf printer. The Acrobat help simply says "in devices and printers chose the pdf printer". Yes, would be easyif it were at choice. But it isn't.
I assume there must be a driver missing. Does anybody know anything about the what and where?

SaskiaAA8 works on VISTA and several folks have reported it working on 32-bit Win7 (I have only heard of 2 getting it to work on the 64-bit system). Adobe does not support AA8 beyond VISTA (actually they won't give much support on AA8 for anything anymore). If you were successful in the Win7 installation and Acrobat and Distiller both open, then there is a chance you will be able to get things taken care of. As I understand it, you can open Acrobat, but the updates in the help menu do not respond. In that case go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and download the updates for manual installation. If you start with the most current update, it will tell you on the download page the previous update that is required. That way you can go back through the updates and install the needed ones in order. Reboot after the last update only.

This "tip" I offer as is, it is not what I would do or recall from then and the "Mac uses EFI filesystem" is plain not right. EFI is not a file system!!
I deleted all my references and bookmarks to SP2 to clean things up. Hoped no one would bother and had moved on to Windows 7, 20x more secure and more suited, and support and patches for SP3 and EOL. Same for Vista SP2 now.
If you want, Windows 8 CP is free, a few Apple driver issue, the RC comes to public in June but is rock solid OS.

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

I downloaded Reader 11, but at no point during the installation process am I prompted for an installation location. How can I install this to a drive other than the C:\? I keep my C:\ and data storage drive separate so in the event the OS crashes I won't lose my data. I have limited storage capacity since I'm on a laptop so I didn't make my C:\ very large, so that I would have more room for my D:\. Any suggestions?

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

As eww said, that computer isn't specifically made for gaming. To get advanced graphics in a game, your computer needs what is called a "discrete" graphics processor, or GPU. This means a seperate chip that processes graphics. In Apple laptops, these are only found in the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro. It is not common to find these in laptops in general that are not expensive and high-end. What you have in yours is an "on-board" or "integrated" GPU. This means that graphics processing is done by a small portion of your main processor (the Intel i5 board). This takes away a portion of primary prossessing and dedicates it to graphics. This works perfectly find in most scenarios, but video rendering, gaming, and 3-D graphics tend to suffer. Most high-end, modern games require discrete GPUs to run at full quality these days.
As far as running Windows 7 and Mac OS both, yes you absolutely can. If you install Windows 7 via Bootcamp (this would require you to have a Windows 7 CD), when you turn on your computer it will default to opening up in Mac OS. But if you hold down the Option key (bottom of the keyboard next to the Command button) while the computer is booting up, it will ask you if you want to open Windows or Mac OS. -

I'm assuming your dvd drive is broken? if you have a thumb drive large enough (8GB or better), you can use another computer to make a bootable image from the install dvd to the thumb drive. then you can install from the the thumb drive.

According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.

You cannot. Microsoft has not made a version of Office for iOS. There are however a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go, Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
