Apple figures that having supported PowerPC code for the last 6 years is enough so they dropped it.
Why should they have to support some that old forever? It doesn't make good business sense to support some that so few will use.
If you must play those games, my suggestion is to get an older Mac that will support PowerPC. It is going to be a difficult task to get Snow Leopard to run on a new Mac.

How do I install Mavericks without invoking the OSX Server Plugin?

How do I perfrom a clean install of Mavericks from the Recovery Partition without it automatically installing, and then invoking or executing the OSX Server Plugin that ultimately results in rendering open directory operable as well as the server. I have ignored this continously, but the other day I went into the terminal and typed ARP -s that lists the shortname for the host of my MacBook Pro and it gave a totally different name than what I had given it in the wi-fi network interface under the WINS tab. More importantly, I do not want to install open directory nor the osx server plugin as it opens up more complexity than I want to deal with. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. BTW, below are the steps I performed for installing Mavericks.
1. Powered on the MacBook Pro and then hit the Option key.
2. This took me into the Recovery Partition, whereby I went into the Disk Util and erased or formatted the hard-drive.
3. I then clicked out of the Disk Utility and went into the Recovery Mode by clicking on reinstall the current OS.
4. I went through all the prompts and the system downloaded a current version of Mavericks.
5. After completion, I turned on my Macbook Pro and went through the prompts to install Mavericks.
6. This is all I did, and I didn't download the OSX plugin nor invoke it in the new version of the Operating System.
I just assumed that it was a standalone version until I found the server for osx running with open directory invoked, the server invoked, along
with other components relative to a new standalone version.
Again, my question is simple: How can I reinstall Mavericks without it downloading and automatically
iinvoking the components as described above?

Apple needs more time to perform more tests to ensure that these two different OS's will work properly without getting in conflicts. If it's posdible, I highly recommand you to downgrade back to Lion or Mountain Lion and install Windows 7 (if you have a copy of it). In my experience, all advises from Genius Bar members and computer articles confirm that Windows 7 will work on Macs with Lion OS. It should also work on Mountain Lion. Besides Boot Camp, you could try to virtualize Windows OS and its applications by using VirtualBox, CrossOver and other VMs. I already have an Oracle VirtualBox but I would like to try Boot Camp since it allows me to enjoy almost all Windows features that may be limited in VMs.

How can I install Mavericks a second time?

I tried installing mavericks and got the disk corrupted error. I found I couldn't fix it, so I tried installing again this time onto an attached hard drive. This sort of worked, and allowed me to run diagnostics on internal hard drive ( it's fine ). Now I want to install Mavericks again on the internal hard drive but when I boot from the internal drive ( again, it's fine ) Software Update ( App Store ) tells me that Mavericks is installed on my 10.8.5 OS computer and won't let me do anything to fix that.
What I want to do is update my internal drive and use that to boot from. It's not apparent how I can do that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Mavericks installer should be located in your Applications folder. If it's not there anymore open App Store. Go to "Purchases" and click on the "Download" button next to Mavericks.
Disconnet the external drive. That's why you're getting the message that Mavericks is already installed.

How can I install Mavericks on a gifted 2011 MacBook Pro?

My brother gifted me his late 2011 MacBook Pro running OS X Lion.
I booted with command+r, launched the Disk Utility, and erased the disk. I closed Disk Utility and selected "Reinstall Mac OS X." The machine tells me that it needs to verify my computer's eligibility before it will download and restore Mac OS X, presumably because Lion was not free like Mavericks. It then fails and says that it could not find installation information for the machine.
Would it be possible for me to download the Mavericks install on an external hard drive, plug the external drive into the machine, and just install Mavericks using my Apple ID? If so, what would be the steps to do this?

How can I install Pages 4.3 with Maverick?

I recently purchaed a new MacBook Air (yippee) and unthinkingly put Maverick straight onto it Not being a fan of the latest Pages 3 & Numbers 5 I then installed iWork '09 from my install DVD, using my desktop Mac as a remote disc. Alll fine so far.
The trouble is the install DVD has Pages 4.0.1 and Numbers 2.0.1 on it, whereas what I really want is Pages 4.3 and Numbers 2.3, which I am currenlty using on my desktop Mac (also recenlty upgraded to Maverick). I tried to simply copy these apps from my desktop Mac but this didn't work - I got an error message when I tried to run them - so now I'm back with the original versions.
I can't upgrade them via the App Store, as this will simply give me the latest versions, whcih I don't want. Does anybody know where I can get a Pages 4.3 and Numbers 2.3 update?

I have just moved from a Windows platform to Imac. On Windows, in Word, I was able to select where the paper was feeding (automatically select, rear tray, etc.) but now I can't select rear tray. I've already tried the "Quality & Media" under presets but was not given an option to change where the paper comes from. Can anybody help?

You need to turn on Printer Sharing on both the PC and OS X. I can't help you on Vista but in OS X it's System Preferences - Sharing - check the Printer Sharing box.

I have Photoshop 5.0 LE and have tried and tried to install it on windows vista. Does anyone have suggestions
on how I can install it. My system Type is x64-based PC and my system directory is C:\windows\system 32. Any suggestions are welcome, I will try everything that I haven't already tried. I don't think you will have much luck with that ancient program.
Why not go for Photoshop Elements? At least it's from the present century!
There are also free basic image editing applications.

How can I startup my new iMac with the Diskwarrior DVD

I just bought a 27" iMac and I'm trying to figure out how to start this fantastic machine from my Diskwarrior DVD. It's less than a month old, has 32 GB of ram, and of course it 's running OS X 10.9.4. My old iMac was from 2008 and it had no problem starting up on this DVD. Oh, and the copy of Diskwarrior I'm using is 4.4.

Just before completion whilst adding the node, error 327747 is being returned. Install guide says to select suitespot user for ldap when installing ldap but this was not possible. Also the ldap logfiles show nothing in the error log and the access log only show the check for existing node number.
