.dmg.part is not a complete file.. It usually indicates that the entire file has not been downloaded yet. Are you sure you downloaded the entire file? (i recommend updating itunes through  > Software Update

Purchased lightroom 5 before I got myself a CC subscription.
I have maxed out on the installation on 2 computers with the CC account. Now I wish to activate my original lightroom standalone license.
But apparently I need to sign in to CC to install lightroom, which creates a conflict with my existing 2 computers. How can I install the standalone license?

Download Light room, during activation choose the option to use the serial number.
It should work, if it says that activation count is over, then you can try by deactivating CC , then install the standalone, then you can activate back the CC.

How can I install Yosemite without a landline?

My only Internet connection is by wireless, with a basic budget of 10GB/month (of which I currently only have ca. 40MB left this month). I am therefore looking for some method of installing Yosemite without using my own link. I would like to download Yosemite to a USB Flash Drive at a friend's house where a better broadband connection is available and then use that to get the OS onto my iMac. However, on the Web I can only find descriptions of how to get the Yosemite installer onto a USB stick and am not clear whether that is all I need or whether the installer then downloads the bulk of the Yosemite data.
Can anyone clarify whether the installer would be all I need or please tell me what I have to do to download Yosemite away from home.

How can I install lion without internet ?

I have Lion installed on an old Mac mini. I have created a DVD from the downloaded installer, as a backup in case of hard drive failure. But, if I disconnect the ethernet cable, the install from the DVD hangs, waiting for an internet connection.
How can I bypass the internet requirement to get my system back running and get the OS re-installed ?

I tried this again. I believe the first time I disconnected the ethernet cable AFTER the install had started. It expected to be able to check for updated modules, and when it couldn't it hung.
The next time, I disconnected the ethernet cable -- and made sure Airport was off, too -- and then started the Install from DVD. It ran through to completion without pausing for the internet. Problem is sequence of disconnection, not in the install process.

How can I install software without Classic environment?

I've got a huge problem. My Powerbook hard drive failed and no data can be recovered. So, because I needed a new computer, I just got the new iMac intel. But here's why I'm freaking out. I've got a lot of software (like Quark Xpress 6 and Addobe Acrobat 6.0) that are all upgrades to previous versions. But since the new iMacs don't run Classic environment, I can't install the older versions of software so I can install my upgrades. What on Earth do I do? I'm a graphic designer - so I HAVE to have Quark on this new machine.
I have a lot of software in Windows format. I keep reading different things that say I can boot Windows on my new iMac. Does this mean there is a way for me to install software that runs on a PowerPC on my new iMac? If so, how do I do that?
I need all the help I can get with this one. I tried contacting Apple and did a chat with an Apple agent that got me nowhere. All I know is that I cannot afford to buy the full versions of software right after buying this new machine. HELP!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your new iMac.
Quark can be reinstalled by inserting the upgrader disk and double clicking the Quark upgrader icon. A dialog box opens that asks "In order to begin upgrading your current version of QuarkXPress you will be asked to locate the directory". At this point, while holding down the "Option" key, click the "ok" button. The install should go smoothly from there.
In regards to Acrobat, any older version requiring classic will not run on your new intel iMac. However, if you've already purchased an upgrade, i believe there is an option of opting to enter your old serial number, rather than pointing the installer to a previous installation when installing the upgrade.

I recently purchased the Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium addition.
The sales person at the store assured me that despite not having a CD drive in my Macbook Pro there would be a way to install/download the suite with the product information in the box.
So far, all I have been able to acheive is recovering my serial code. I am compeltely at a loss of how to even begin to start the install process without the a disc drive.
Is this possible or did the sales person send me down the wrong road?

How can I install Thunderbird without a "Special Account" being created

A new installation of Thunderbird is creating a "Special Account", the name of which I need to use for another account. I cannot change the name of the "Special Account" and the new account must use that name but TB will not accept two accounts with the same name. I hope this is the right forum. I just bought a PIXMA MG3570, which I will be using occasionally as a personal printer. The trouble is I'm currently forced to use an old HP dc7100 computer which does not have a CD-ROM drive installed. I have a few alternatives. I can wait to see if my new computer gets fixed (it currently suffers from a weird, intermittent, random graphics glitch). I have a working CD/DVD-ROM drive in an old computer which burned out its main board.; I could take that out and try to install it in the HP, but the HP has a Small Form Factor cast and I'm nervous about making modifications. I guess I could buy another computer, but that seems kind of extreme, since another new compuuter would cost at least five times as much as the printer and I don't have that kind of money lying around.
I found the Canon download page for the drivers, but there are thirty or forty files listed and I can't tell which ones I need. Can anyone tell me where I can find instructions?

I've tried moving the actual files to an external hard drive to move to my new computer, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the programs to work on my new computer. I have the old computer with the working CS4 right here next to me, and I've deactivated CS4 on the old computer, but when I try to open the applications on the new computer it gives me an error saying the licensing has expired.

My company blocks executables from running in the Temp folder. How can I install Firefox without it trying to run download.exe from a temp folder?

I found a workaround for the problem of not being able to run executables from the Temp folder.
I happened upon the Full Firefox installer download page. I downloaded the full installer and used WinRar to extract the downloaded file to a folder then I could run setup.exe and Firefox installed successfully.
Please publish the link to the full Firefox installer on the same page where the stub installer is published.
