Man I am going to be honest with you, I had the same issue tried everything to fix it. The last resort was doing a clean install of OS, its a pain but if you do it wipe your SSD drive clean make sure of that man. After doing this my sound blaster z worked, I also had the recon 3d and it worked as well after doing this. Hope this helps man.

You basically answered your own question. If you have access to another computer just go download the appropriate language and OS version of Firefox 5.0 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html and put it on you usb drive and then go and install it onto you pc.

Today I got a message that Firefox blocked my plugins for Shockwave & Flash. I downloaded & installed Shockwave without any troubles, but when I tried to install Flash Player something was wrong with it: the installer tried to install russian version of Flash Player.
OK, I tried to select option "Want Flash Player for another PC?" - but it had no option to chose the language - it indicated that my system is Windows 8, Firefox, English; though all the software I'm using is English localized.
So I went to adobe.com & at the bottom of the page changed the region to United States, then I tried to download Flash Player once again. I was so happy when I saw that my system was identified as Windows 8, Firefox, English :-)
But when the file downloaded & I ran it and - guess what? Yes, exactly - it started to install Flash Player in Russian!
Frankly speaking I don't like Russian-localized software at all (because the translation is terribly awful), thus all the applications installed in my PC is English-localized. All but the Flash Player :-(
So I have a question: how can I install English-localized Flash Player and prevent myself from seeing again this terrible Russian-localized one?
PS. All my regional settings in Windows are set to English (United States), so I have no idea why the Russian player is installed...

I don't know why your post remained unnoticed & unanswered for such a long time.
The installed Flash Player is the same for all languages, but the installer may display in a localized language; no idea why you get Russian?
Try the offline installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe (for Firefox).

Our company uses Java to develop the main application. Sometimes we got bad surprises when new updates are released to public.
We are planning to do advanced testing to avoid this kind of situation, but how can we find the next JRE version for testing?
The Oracle website pointed me to the url: Java Early Access Downloads and then https://jdk7.java.net/ . In the downloads section, I can find only the update 60 version for download, but I noticed the version that will be released to public will be the update 55.
How can I test version update 55 of the JRE? What is the correct procedure for testing further versions?

I would like to ask how can I install WinXP in my S10 (no DVD drive)? First, I want to share that I committed the mistake of using it without any anti-virus software installed. As a result, it bugged down. Now in my attempt to reformat it and make it as fresh as day one, I followed the steps on how to make a bootable USB drive. I was not aware that this unit is only compatible with WinXP (I tried to upgrade to Win7). And in the process, I deleted both partitions of the HDD.. Now I'm receiving the message "windows was not able to detect a hard drive.. blah.. blah.." dead end for me..

you should format the partitions, i think, you haven't done it so, windows can't detect any harddisk installed or your harddisk is dead.
try to format the disk by using windows installation ( usb ) and try to install again.
also, check if you see your hdd under bios ( press f2 to load bios, then check bios order )
ordering recovery discs won't help you due to you don't have any dvd-rom. i suggest you to call lenovo support line and ship your laptop back to service to reset your harddisk to its default.
( lenovo may charge you )

I'm using Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.16384 on Windows 8. A bit of Google research suggested that IE10 has a Flash player built-in (similiar to what Google Chrome has) so I looked for a way to disable the player. It seems that this is indeed possible by clicking the Cogwheel icon in the IE10 toolbar and then selecting 'Manage Add-ons'. The dialog which shows up shows a 'Shockwave Flash Object' entry. However, even with the built-in Flash player disabled, the Flash Debug Player installer keeps giving the same message.
Does anybody knwo how I can install the Flash Debug Player in IE10?
