How can I 'join' audio tracks when importing audio book?

HELP!!
In the latest version of iTunes, 11.0.1, I can't find the 'JOIN Tracks' button which is needed when importing an audio CD to keep each disc treated as one book instead of storing each chapter as a separte entry.  Without this, I can't find a way to keep the chapters to play in proper order as each CD, starts with chapter 01.
Thank you for your help

Join CD tracks
When you import songs from a CD into iTunes, you can group songs so they always play together (even when you’re shuffling songs).
Insert an audio CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive, and click No in the window that appears.
When the songs on the CD appear in the iTunes window, hold down the Shift key to select the ones you want to join.
Click near the top-right of the iTunes window, and choose Join CD Tracks.

    Hi,
Not sure you can do anything about this. I get vaiable import speeds - a lot depends on the actual disc. The Read Write spec is 24X but I rarely see speeds close to this.

  • Losing Audio Tracks When importing from 5.1 to 3

I was capturing video on one of the new intel imacs in FCP 5.1. Afterwards I'm importing the files into a project on my powerbook g4 with FCP 3. For some reason I only get 1 audio track when I import the files.
The files on my imac all say 1V and 2A and have the two separate audio tracks. But when I import them on my laptop I get only 1V and 1A. I've tried everything I can think of and changed all the settings I can but can't figure this one out. Can anybody help me?

This has been posted by others in the past, there seems to be changes in FCP 5 and/or QuickTime that make its media not fully-readable by earlier revs of FCP.
I would recapture in FCP 3.

  • Missing audio track when importing video into Premiere Pro CS3

When I import my M2TS video into the editor there is no audio when viewed in the source.  There is also no audio track when I drag a clip down to the timeline.  Any fix for this?

I have the same problem with M2TS files in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. The audio track is there - Adobe Premiere just doesn't recognize it. If you open the same clip in Nero Showtime, Corel Ulead VideoStudio, etc., the audio will be there. The audio is probably multiplexed.
I have been recording High Definition TV using the Hauppauge HD PVR 1212. About 15-20 % of the M2TS files recorded will be seen as video only clips by Adobe Premiere. The remaining clips will be conformed by Premiere and you will have a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track. If you convert the video only clips to .MP4 and then re-import them into Premiere you will then have the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track back and you're good to go.
I use either Xilisoft or Arcsoft media converters to change to .MP4 files. If you use Arcsoft you will have to render the clip. The files converted by Xilisoft don't have to be rendered for playback.

  • Locating audio tracks when Importing OMF

I have just imported an OMF from another Logic session. All my audio tracks are in the media folder and all the audio regions are in the session page in their correct places.
But the audio isn't synced up to the regions, is there any way of not doing it manually as I have over 2000 files.
Or is there something I can do when importing the OMF's to make sure this doesn't happen.
I just started a new session straight from the OMF when this happened.
I am now importing the OMF from an open session.
    Any advice greatly appreciated

  • How can i disable auto playback when importing music files in itunes 10?

when i downlaod music files that get imported to itunes it automatically plays the music in the background which interupts what i am currently listening to. how can this feature be disabled as it was possible in the past. i have a macbook air and running iTunes 10.

I am having this same issue when downloading audiobooks from Audible.
After the download completes in Safari, it imports into iTunes which automatically starts to play the file.
Damned inconvinent when I am downloading multiple books for work and I am away from my Mac doing other stuff. I have to return to the Mac to manually stop the book each time.

  • How can I join 24bit tracks without ripping from CD?

I've begun to upgrade my library to 24 bit audio, and many of the albums I want to upgrade have tracks which should be "joined." But if I buy, say, Pink Floyd's  Dark Side Of The Moon from HDTracks, and want to have each side play as one continuous track, I have to burn it to CD first, then rip it. Which reduces the audio back to 16 bit. I wish iTunes would start selling albums in 24 bit ALAC, but that's another issue. Does anyone know a way to join 24 tracks without burning to CD and ripping?
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,
Up to you, of course, but as audio editing tasks go, stringing a few tracks end-to-end is relatively simple.
The other option is just to put the relevant tracks in a playlist in the desired order, make sure Crossfade is set to 0, and play them in a row.  Try it and see whether the transitions come across as "good enough."

  • How can I fix choppy playback when importing AND exporting in iMovie 9.0.4?

I recently updated my system to OS Lion and also upgraded to the new iMovie 9.0.4. Now, the movies I import into iMovie (as .Mov, M4v, etc) are playing choppy when edited in the iMovie viewer AND playing choppy after exported. My computer was purchased NEW, its just over a year old. Any advice would help!

Most ISP's have a file size limit for email attachments and a five minute video is just too much for most of them.
In order to compress the video enough to fit as an attachment you would have to reduce its dimensions (postage stamp size) and decrease the data rate (adds artifacts). Not practical.
A better method would be to upload the file to a server and just share the URL via email. Mobile Me (if you're a member).
You can also share very large files via iChat.
There are also file "sharing" services (Google) that you can use.

  • Missing audio tracks when importing raw from my PMW-350

  • How can I disable CDDB function when importing CD's?

I have iTunes 6, and for some reason, when I rip my audiobook CD's, the CDDB database is automatically being accessed and filling in the data, which is often sloppy and wrong for audiobooks.
In the previous version, it was not finding data for audiobooks, even though it did automatically find it for music CD's.
I would like to shut the CDDB function off while importing audiobooks, but I cannot find the option to do so. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks for the reply, Max H...that was my first thought, but I wanted to avoid doing THAT....
What I did do was insert the disk while holding down the OPTION key...and...now it isn't finding anything! (I know, bizarre, but this is the way I approach things on the Mac...)
I just tested this, and...pressing the OPTION key DOES do something. It apparently toggles something, but what I do not know. I pressed it while inserting the CD, and...voila-it picked up titles from a database. I put the next one in while pressing OPTION, and...it said it couldn't find a match. I did it with the next one, and...It found the titles.

  • OTM - How can I sort the requirements when importing from CSV ?

    Hi,
I am able to upload requirements into OTM, in a tree structure.
But even though I am giving a "ViewOrder" column in my .xls/.csv file, the requirements do not get uploaded in the same order.
Whats happening is, when the xls/csv is converted to xml, the vieworder tag isnt included, and in turn doesnt get posted to DB either.
I also tried modifying a previously saved mapping file, by manually adding ViewOrder=ViewOrder and saving it.
On selection it only accept sheets containing the column, but still it gets discarded during conversion.
Is there any way to expand the set of required fields during upload, to include View Order?
Is there any other way to ensure that the excel data gets uploaded in the same order as listed?

Have you explored the options in the View -> Sort Photos menu?
    Regards

  • I want to join the cd tracks when importing my discs into itunes

I have always joined my tracks when putting audio books into itunes. Then, yesterday I put the first disc of a book in but could not get the option up when I came to add disc 2. I figured it was a faulty disc and tried another book but nothing works.
Previously I have inserted a disc highlighted all the tracks & then chosen join tracks from the advanced tab. Now everything highlights but the required join tracks option remains stubbornly unavailable. I uninstalled & re-installed itunes but that hasn't made any difference.
Please can anyione help - I forsee a life of re-naming audio tracks so that the stay together on my ipod!

The only way iTunes can join tracks is when it is ripping from physical CD.
Once the CD is ripped, you can use 3rd party software to join the tracks (i.e. an audio editor), but it may be easier to start over again from the CD.
