How can I jump to a named destination?

I have separate Framemaker files for sections for which I specified a named destination at title. These sections are imported by reference into chapters of a number of books. Within the book I want to jump for example from chapter 2 to a section in chapter 3. Normally I would use a cross reference, but that does not work with an imported file. I tried to do this with a named destination, but it seems that Framemaker cannot jump from one chapter to another using a named destination. Does anyone know how I can jump from one chapter to imported file in another chapter?

Okay, I should have looked at the PPT. But I understand that you are
working with "text insets".
When you import some text into another document "by reference" the
text is nevertheless completely copied into the (I call it) container
document — other wise FrameMaker would have a hard time getting the
formatting and numbering right.
But, the target file name has changed and I know of no way to have
that fixed automatically by FrameMaker.
In a similar setup I created a FrameScript script program, which
checked all cross-references and changed the target file name to that
of the container file.

You know what, about 30 seconds ago I figured out what I did. I set the Quiz preferences to “Required to pass before continuing” instead of “Required to take quiz”.
I am sure Action Script is the wrong term (I’ve only used Captivate for 2 weeks). I applied an Advanced action to skip over the knowledge checks. I got the tutorial from this link:

Can Adobe Reader users view named destinations?

I created named destinations in my PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat.
Can users who only have Adobe Reader see those named destinations?

There is no Destinations pane in Reader that the user can display, but links to named destinations will work in Reader.

How do I link to a named destination from a c# application in this version of Reader?

Just like the title says. I can link to named destinations in adobe reader desktop version with no problem, but that same syntax does not work in the touch version that comes from the windows store. I have found no documentation on the touch version. Please help.

I doubt the Touch version offers an API, especially to non-Metro apps.

I want to jump to certain region on the same page.
1) Let say I have 5 regions on page 15 and I have to able to redirect from region 1 to region 5 with out scrolling.
2) I have to able to branch from page 2 to page 15 ==> region 4.
How can I do it?

I can get this to work but the page is submitted, either when I use a button with URL link or from a link on a display only text field.
Is this how it is supposed to work? I thought it was supposed to work just on the browser so it is fast.

How can I jump from Safari window to Safari window?

Hey all,
How does one jump from one Safari window to another? While Im at it, also from Tab to Tab?
On Window to Window in WinXP, I would use Command/Tab. However, in OSX, if I Command/Tab, then I get a different program list other then available, open Safari windows.
When in a single Safari window and have multiple tabs, to go from Tab to Tab, in Windows, you use Control/Tab. But in OSX, this does not work. I have tried variations to see if I could figure it out, but have been unsuccessful. Many thanks for any help and input.

Command + ` is a system-wide function to toggle between open windows within any running app. Works for everything.
In Safari 4 and 5, ShiftCommand (right or left) arrow moves tabs for me. I noticed that in Apple Discussions, should I have a "reply box" open, this copmmand will go to the that tab and stay there, highlighting text. Otherwise the combo wrks fine.

In all portal versions you need to add the pageLabel param to the URL and the application
automatically go the good page (for synthax look at the URL in the browser)
For exemple in portal 8.1 using the bea tags add the following link in the jsp
of the portlet one : go
to the second portlet page
You can also use a form instead just add the "_pageLabel" param to the form using
directly
an <input> tag not a <netui:param> tag that would prefix your parameter with the
current portlet instance label.
We did it for our project and it works.

[CS3] How can I jump to an embedded frame?

I'm using Flash CS3 with ActionScript 2.0 and I have a
project with just one scene. Within the scene are 10 frames and
within each of the 10 frames are movieclips that I'm going to call
"chapters". Each of the chapters have numerous frames within them
that we want to user to go through one at a time. We have a "next"
and "back" button on each frame so they can go back a frame to
review something and go forward a frame once they've sat through
the content on the frame.
The problem is that when they enter a new chapter I don't
know how to code the "back" button to go back to the last frame of
the previous chapter. I tried this code:

_parent.gotoAndStop(_parent._currentframe - 1);
gotoAndStop(12);
which takes you to the first frame of the previous chapter,
but I think once you're there it doesn't see the code to
gotoAndStop(12) (12 being the last frame of the previous chapter).
How would I get it to go to the previous chapter and then jump to
frame 12?

Thanks for the info, I'll have to keep that in mind for
future projects, but we've been working on this for about 2 months
and it would be a huge burden to have to change the navigation
system now. Here's a photo of the main timeline:

All of the chapters are set up the same way. There is a
"chapter" movieclip on each of the frames in Scene 1 so all of the
base items (background, navigation buttons, etc) are the same in
every chapter.
So, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

⌥1 until ⌥9 will bring your playhead to markers 1 to 9. In the *Key Commands* (⌥K) window you can assign your own Keycommands to go to the Markers 10-20.

How can we jump to different page in af:showDetailItem within af:showOneTab

My requirement is to have multiple tabs in a page (not using the menu1, menu2, or menu3 facet). Each tab is doing different functionality, so each tab could span multiple pages.
I am trying to use af:showOneTab with af:showDetailItem to implement this, but it seems that with af:showOneTab, all tabs are part of the same page, so I am facing a problem. I am hoping that there is an "action" property in the af:showDetailItem component that I can use to go to different page.
For example, I have 2 tabs: Employee, Department.
Employee | Department
When user reaches the first page, we are disclosing Employee tab by default. Within this tab, we are showing all employees in an ADF table with a link to "Create New Employee" which I wire to a new JSFX page. So in this new page, I am copying the same af:showOneTab with 2 af:showDetailItems from the same page.
After we are done with the creation, if user clicks the Employee tab, we should go back to the first JSFX page which shows all employees in ADF table. But it does not do that, it stays in the second page (create new employee page). Then I realize that it's because there is no "action" property in af:showDetailItem.
Can af:showOneTab / af:showDetailItem be used to achieve this? Or is there another tab container component that I should use?

this is more a usecase for a template than the use of tabs. Tabs are not made for this. You could use subviews, but then the pages are added at runtime to the parent page

Maybe it's the way I have it displaying? (left pane shows a small calendar of the current month, on the right is a full size of the current month). Other options of displaying are: day & week, but chose month because wanting more of an overview. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

How can I enable Lightroom as a destination in Image Capture?

Having recently swapped my old iMac for a new Retina MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.1, I seem to be having some difficulty getting the new Mac to open Lightroom 5.3 when a memory card is inserted either into the SD card slot on the laptop itself or into the card reader of the monitor. I have no problems importing pictures into Lightroom if I open Import myself but I find it odd that cannot enable the same function as I had on the old iMac. Within the Lightroom preferences I have the option "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected" enabled. However, what I find really odd is that my old stalwart application for sorting this sort of stuff out, Image Capture, does not seem to recognise Lightroom. When I open this application with a memory card inserted I am unable to select Lightroom as an "Other" option from the "Import to" menu. Please see the screenshot below. This seems rather strange so I'm wondering if anyone might know what is causing Image Capture to dislike my fresh install of Lightroom (via Creative Cloud). While this isn't a major problem, it is starting to bug me a bit.

I'd guess it could be a while before for Adobe "addresses this issue" (if ever they do..), but I could be wrong. If you want to encourage them, here is where:

How can I jump from scene to scene without settings being cleared

I'm making a Jeopardy game. When someone clicks on the button with the dollar amount on it, I have it reset to a different scene on the button so the players know it has been used. When another button is clicked, the first button resets back to its original dollar amount, rather than the blank scene it was reset to.
I'm not sure I'm wording the question very well, but I would appreciate any help you might have for me.

In each button i have this code on my main screen i have this

     cellnumber = 1; (i made the instance of each button "Cell" and then a number incrimenting....Cell1, Cell2.....

Once it goes to the Questions scene that is where i click a button that will add the index number to my total points depending on if they clicked the button for team 1 or team 2... then that goes to my Answer scene which shows the right answers.....

i have blankcell declared at the beginning of the game as a global var
this code works so far but atm as soon as i try to have more than one button disapear it doesnt work, the problem i see is that im telling it to go back to that scene at frame 1, and that has all the buttons appear.....in other words it will make one disapear because its the button right before it but the frame with all the cells will override as soon as i try to get another button to dissapear.
