How can I keep one of my audio tracks stationary when syncing multiple tracks?

I am trying to edit a video that has external audio from an H4N recorder and internal audio from 2 Canon DSLRs. The internal audio is just there to help my sync everything and will be muted during output. From the H4N I have one long, continuous recording, but from the cameras I have shorter clips, not all of which happened exactly after the previous one.
Here's the issue I'm having: when I sync the two video clips & the external audio early in the timeline, everything lines up (using the automatic synchronization based on waveform). However, when I am syncing clips later in the timeline, sometimes Premiere chooses to pull the external audio track FORWARD (thus bringing it out of alignment with the earlier video), rather than pushing the video tracks BACK (which is what I need).
Is there some way to tell Premiere which tracks should and should not be moved during sync? If I lock the track, then I cannot use the sync function on it at all. I basically need a way to specify that one track should be used as the "anchor" and that others should be moved forward or backward as needed, without moving the "anchor" track.

Cut up the 4n audio clip and synch it to its respective clips.

When I'm starting to write a mail in HEBREW it's automatically move the signature to the right side which I don't like it because my signature is in English (My Hebrew is a why better from my English ; )
How can I keep the signature on the left side as default?

There are different ways to do this but a very simple and easy way is with Dropbox. Home - Dropbox
This app puts a folder on each mac (or iOS device) you have and syncs the folders with a folder online. When you finish working with a document and save it, it will sync on all your devices.
iCloud will do the same but not with all kinds of documents, only with certain Apple apps.
There are also third party apps that will sync folders over your local network.
I use dropbox.

How can I keep a PDF's table format intact when exporting to Excel? I am using Reader X for windows.

I am trying to use Reader X/ Adobe Export to send a pdf to excel but everytime I send it and then open the excel file the table format and information is all screwy. How can I fix this. I am trying to put together pricing sheets for my workshop. Thanks and I hope someone can help.

How can i stop itunes changing manually typed in genres when playing a track?

hi,
for a long time, itunes has been changing genre information that i typed in manually when playing a track, example giving "soundtrack" to "Filmmusik" or "rock" to "Rock" (i prefer lower case letters). until upgrading to itunes 11, it was able to edit the localizable.strings file and set the predefined genres to lowercase and "Filmmusik" to "soundtrack" and so on. now i had to install itunes 11 to run my new ipod, and the localizable.strings file looks quite different. it doesn't seem to be the file now where the necessary updates have to be done.
therefore, first question is if anyone can tell me where i can find the predefined genres and update them? then i will have a workaround at least.
actually, i would prefer to stop itunes changing track information in any case. i've spend more than a year to import all my cd's and used lots of time to have reliable track informations. i don't want the software to change my data without me committing any change. also, even worse, itunes updates the aac-file itself as well. i used to use the last updated information as a criteria in intelligent playlists, but itunes makes it impossible to get the expected result with its unwanted updates.
so, any help will be aprreciated. in case it should matter, i have an imac with os x 10.6.8. the problem seems to occur only in itunes, when i play the tracks on my ipod, the information remains unchanged. and since i read about similar problems with songs from the itunes store - all my tracks are imported from cd manually.

Dependent upon which view you are using to look at the album, they will be playing in the "view" order. For example, in the screenshot below, in the Songs view, I have a view of an album like this, while the song "Follow Me" is playing:
Look carefully at the picture and you will notice that the sort order for this view is in "reverse Last Played order", and if you now look at the Track No. column, you will notice that "Follow Me" is track 12, the last one on the album. If you also look at the Up Next list, you can see every track from the album, in the same order as they appear in the main window, so it will play in reverse order.
To play this album in the correct track order, I simply click on the Track No. column header (so that the arrow is pointing up) and then select the track at the top of the list, track 1, "Sunset Song". Look at this screenshot:
Notice that now, the tracks in the Up Next list are in track order and the album will play in the correct order.

I think the matching has been extended beyond the beginnings of names, as it used to be. It now looks for the string appearing anywhere in the contacts' names or addresses. Type a few more letters to see if it becomes more precise.
e.g. 'and' will fire on 'handyman', 'wallander' etc and not necessarily just on 'andrew' as you might expect. But if you type in 'andr' that should eliminate handyman and wallander. ;-)
I think you will find it is also searching nicknames too, something which had been broken for some time. Distinctive nicknames for your contacts can speed up auto-completion quite noticeably.

How can i keep one email box separate from all the others....?

I have 4-5 personal email accounts. Mail gets them all, and it works as i want it - with ALL my inboxes and sent mail aggregated.
However, i now want to add my business exchange account. I want this totally separate - not mixed in with personal.
Ideally i'd like to run two instances of mail - is that possible?
If not, i'd like a completely separate set of mailboxes (in, sent, drafts, etc) for exchange mail.
Can thsi be done? How?

What is the problem with the suggestion I gave you?
IO rally want to figure out a way to trick the system into letting me run two instances, or keeping the two accounts independent.
Even if you could trick the system into running two copies of Mail, what do you think that would accomplish? They would both try to access the same Mail settings and data files. If the workarounds posted here aren't sufficient, you will just have to use a different mail client.

Some websites identify my computer with a cookie, so when I try to log in to these sites, they don't recognize my computer because the identifying cookie has been deleted. I understand that Internet Explorer has a feature that preserves specified cookies, but haven't been able to find that capability in Firefox. Is there a way to do it?

Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.

Make an Allow exception for the ones that you want to keep.

You can inspect and modify the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences" (Site Preferences includes the cookie exceptions)

How can I keep my iMac on the wireless network when it goes to sleep?

I have a new iMac (from Santa) and when it goes to sleep, so does its wifi connection. I use it for work and need to keep my instant messaging app open and running at all times, even when it's asleep. I also like to have all of my email waiting in the inbox when I come back to the desk.
Is there any setting (or workaround) I can do to keep it connected even when it goes to sleep? I have a MacBook Pro that keeps its connection when it goes to sleep so can't figure out what's happening. Thanks in advance!

going to sleep means disabling the network connection to save power
so what you're asking is not really possible
unless you can change what going to sleep mean on your computer
in the power saving settings you may be able to set going to sleep to just turn off your monitor
because thats pretty much the only thing that can go to sleep if you still wish to use it over wifi

IPhone 5c how can I keep my email on my desktop computer when retrieving from my phone?

I just purchased the IPhone 5C and have successfully set up my Cox email account on my phone. I am able to receive my email on the phone, but at the same time, it deletes it from my desktop computer at home. I am able to set up my iPad to receive mail and still get it on my desktop at home. Can the same thing be done with the iPhone 5C?

How can you ignore one specific version of a package when upgrading?

Hi all,
Due to a rather nasty bug in mplayer, the current version in the Arch repositories is unusable for me. I am currently running the previous version without any problems, but every time I try to upgrade, pacman wants to reinstall this broken version.
I don't want to list mplayer in the IgnorePkgs option, because then I won't get any new versions. Since the bug has long been fixed, the next Arch version should work fine - it's just the current Arch version (35014) that is broken and I want to ignore.
Is there some way I can blacklist this specific version of the package, so although it won't ever be installed, any newer version will?
I tried adding "mplayer-35014" and "mplayer-35014-1" to IgnorePkgs but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. I didn't actually build a package from it, because I didn't know where the problem was. So I just compiled a bunch of things the old fashioned way and ran them without installing anything until I had narrowed down the problem. But I'm sure there's an mplayer-svn in AUR I could use - good idea.

How is that link useful? If you want to attach a screen snap, use the camera icon.
Pages is not a Word clone, particularly Pages 5, it will change the formatting to a greater or lesser extent depending on how much formatting is in common.
Try LibreOffice [free] instead.

I have been remixing a soundtrack on one track. I have imported in many tracks and worked on them as one project and now I'd like to export them as seperate tracks by giving them track markers. I've been reading the manual and this forum but haven't found anything about it. I also wanted to use Logic to clean up some old vinyl records and export them as CDs. Help please.
