How can I keep the order of photos in an album when I upload it to Flickr?

When I share an iPhoto album on Flickr, the order of the photos in my album is lost. Apparently Flickr uses the photo date, but that defeats all the manual arranging I have done in my album. How can I preseve the photo order on upload?
Also, the description of each uploaded photo appears in small print and not in the main Flickr label box. This means the description cannot be seen if a photo is viewed in full screen mode. How can I automatically transfer the iPhoto descriptions to the main Flickr label boxes?
Is there a better way to share iPhoto albums on the Web (Picasso)?

I'm glad you found a solution
For for others and you in the future it is important to understand
Albums are a way to VIEW photos in your desired order within iPhoto - the photos do not have any order (in fact they are in files scattered essentially randomly accross your hard drive)
When you move the out of iPhotoand view them in another program that program determines teh order they are viewed in
An easy to see an example is the finder - files exported from iPhoto and viewed via the finder can be viewed in many different sort orders including name, date created, date modified, size, kind and label - none of these have any relation to the order the photos were in the album UNLESS you cause that to happen (like by exporting using sequential file names so teh finder name sort matched the album order) - the order you see photos in is totally determined by the program you are using to view them - if you understand how it views them then you may be able to export them so that the destination program view martches the iPhoto view
To make suggestions to Apple re exporting to Flickr (or any other outsidside service) -  iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback - and to make suggestiont to thrid party suppliers like the Picasa export plugin contact the developer of that plugin

  • How can I save the order of photos in albums? Even though I have set as album order they revert back

How can I save the order of photos in albums in Elements 11? Even though I have set as album order they revert back to original order.

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

  • How do I change the order of photos in ipad albums in ios 8 ?

    Hi
I've just upgraded my ipad mini to IOS 8.1.  I want to create a slideshow in Photo (iPhoto no longer supported) but can't find how to change the order of photos within an album.  Has anyone any suggestions/ideas ?
    Many thanks

Open the album. Tap select. Hold your finger on the photo till it enlarges then slide it to it's new position. Tap done when you're finished.

  • How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac.  I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album.  Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu.  Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number.  Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder.  Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window.  The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc.  There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder.  Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name.  001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad.  Click on your iPad device in the list at the left.  Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right.  In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are.  Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right.  The slides will be copied to your iPad.  Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding.  Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad.  But this worked and gave me several options.  I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV.  TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I change the order of photos within an event?

iPhoto o9 won't let me change the order of photos within a single event- really annoying! I tried to view photos then click manual sort- but when I look back at the event it is not in the right order. what's wrong? Or can I even do this?

Yes you can do that - IF you go through and assign titles to every photo
You also can change the date/time on photo and iPhoto will then sort them in the new order
And you could assign unique key words to each photo such that the sort order is what you want and sort by key word
But you can not change the order in the sense most people mean - grab a photo and move it to a new location in an event
    So yes you are right

  • In Photos, how can one control the order of pictures in an album?

Is there any way, in Photos, to control the order of pictures in an album? Is there any way to sort, or order things manually?

Thanks. Let me refine my question as follows: is there a way to keep the manual order in albums that I had in iPhoto when transferring to Photos?

  • How can I lock the order of photos in my IPhoto albums?

I have created albums in IPhoto and have arranged the photos in the order I want them.  But when I open IPhoto and click on an album, I often find that some of the photos have moved to different locations.  This is maddening to me!  Is there a way to lock the position of photos in the albums?

Thanks, I will send in some feedback.  It seems silly to have a menu option to arrange photos "Manually," then have them move around seemingly on their own.

  • How keep original order of photos in iPhoto album when transferring to Photo Stream?

I want my carefully organized photos in a iPhoto Album to remain in SAME order when sending the album to my iPad from my MacBook Pro via Photo Stream. How can I do this?   Also, does anyone know how to keep the captions below photos when using Photo Stream?

I want my carefully organized photos in a iPhoto Album to remain in SAME order when sending the album to my iPad from my MacBook Pro via Photo Stream. How can I do this?
Are you asking about "My Photo Stream" or a "Shared Photo Stream"?
"My Photo Stream" is only a temporary buffer, not meant for long term storage. You have no control over the order of the photos in the stream. Mostly they will be ordered by the date.
"Shared Photo Streams" will be ordered in the same order as add the photos. SO you can control the sequence by adding the photos one by one.
The captions will not be transferred, only the file names.

  • How can I keep the order of my photos when I synch them with my iPad

Prior to transferring my photos to my iPad, I arrange the photos in a specific order.  Once the transfer to my iPad is complete, the sequence/ordering of the photos from the Album/Event never stays in tact.  I am using iTunes to manage the transfer process.  Is there a trick to making the photos all transfer in the order they were originally placed?

Thanks for the quick response.  Sorry about the lack of info.  I am using iPhoto to compile and arrange my photos.  I am using IOS 8.1.3  on my iPad.  I went as far as to include the sequence number for each photo in hopes it would sort by sequence.  But if it is by capture date etc... then I guess that won't help.  I wasn't aware that you could rearrange the order of your photos once they had transferred to the iPad.  I guess I could also create a slideshow of the photos and synch it with the iPad..  That should maintain the order...  Thanks again..

  • How can I change the order of photos in my fotostreams?

When selecting photos for a fotostream to share with friends the exported files appear in the order they were taken. If I add more pictures later, they are added at the end of the stream as if they were ne lastest taken pics.
    How can I change that?
Exporting all of them and then creating a new stream brings back the real order, but destroys all comments.

Aperature is the same with PS - PS is PS
Lightroom - has nothing to do with sharing photos in any way - it is a photo manager with no connection to any other Apple products
FLickr and integrated into iPhoto and are easy ways to share photos - SmugMug also is popular
    Google will bring you others

  • How can I control the order of photos in a Ravel slideshow?

I'm using the web version.  After I uploaded my photos, I discovered that Ravel does not display them in alphanumeric file name order.  Instead it appears to order them by file date.  Unfortunately, I have always altered the file name to set up the order of my photos.  In the future, if I use PhotoShop to manually alter the date of the jpeg files, and then upload them, will Ravel "see" the altered date and change the order?  I've used up my upload limit, so I can't just try it and see.
On a slide note, I tried the method of sharing an album on PC as described in the Adobe FAQ, and it worked pretty well.  Two minor things I'd add:  (1) You have to first click the URL field before the copy, and (2) the URL includes two non-functional characters at the end (#!) that can be deleted from the e-mail.

Yes, as you noticed, the only option for Revel is to sort by date.  If you change the date that the photo was taken, it will indeed change the order.  This is something you can also do within the Revel app, though not currently with the web version you are using.

  • How can I change the order of photos in albums on my iPad

Hi everybody... When I place a folder with photos in it and sync it with iTunes on my iPad they are not in the order that I want to view them or play as a slideshow.  I've tried numbering the files in order, but that didn't work.  Is there away of doing this?

When syncing folders the photos are ordered by capture date - the only way to alter the order (apart from using iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac) is to amend the photo's capture dates : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

  • How can I change the order of photos in a film roll?

I've scanned in images and then imported them to i-photo and they are not in order on the film roll in i-photo. Does anyone know how I can re-order them within the roll?
    Thanks
    Ruth

There's only two way to arrange photos in the roll itself while having the rolls visible in the organize window. They are last file created first or last file created last.
You can create an album of that roll and then arrange them manually, by date, by file name. If by date or file name and you want them sorted alphanumerically or chronologically you'll have to make sure the check box, "Place most recent photos at the top" is unchecked in the iPhoto Preferences/Appearances pane.

  • How can I keep the quality of an MP4 video high when I export an interactive PDF from InDesign?

I am making an Interactive PDF with embedded MP4 video using InDesign.  When I view the video in the PDF it has degraded the quality and the colour contrast is poorly affected.  I can have the video as a floating window but this gives a harsh black line around the video when it plays which is not acceptable.
Can anyone advise how to maintain the quality of the original video when it is embedded?

You can control the quality of the video (aspect ratio, pixel dimensions, frames/minute, etc.) by using the Adobe Media Encoder which comes with InDesign CS5 or later installations, including InDesign CC. InDesign only includes what you have placed and passes it on to the PDF file. There are no video quality controls in InDesign.
You cannot change the way Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader displays the MP4. If you don't like the way Acrobat/Reader handles display of a floating window, then you'll have to display it within the page. For more info, inquire in the Rich Media Acrobat forum.
