factory unlock mean what it says unlocked from the factory where it was made as in never locked

How can i create a playlist in iTunes and have the playlist show up on iPhone 5

I painstakingly spent a considerable amout of time creating a playlist in iTunes on Windows, and now when I sync my iPhone, and open the Music app, I do not see the playlist at all. When I select 'On this device' in iTunes, I can see the playlist listed, but a large number of the songs are greyed out, and do not play in iTunes. These are simply songs I selected from my iTunes library into an iTunes playlist, and I sync'ed my iPhone saying transfer only selected playlists, etc, and now the playlist does NOT show up on the iPhone.
Any ideas?

i have a distributed application which does the following.. a client submits a job which is passed from one server to another and after some processing on each server the job is returned back to the client.. the thing is that i want to make the whole application more reliable... how can i found out if the next server that i am going to submit the job is up and running?
the client has decided the order of the servers that should be followed but when a server processes the job another one may "die..." and i am telling you that because i cannot check if the cast of the objectReference fails when i make the list on the client...
is there any function that i can call to the orb and find that out ?

i'm choosing the corrent DAQ hw for my application. I read in the NI-DAQmx documenation that if would use the DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent(..) function, the hw should support the "bufferd tasks". How Can i know what DAQ device support this feature? Then, I know not all the DAQ device support the "Sample timing hardware". How can i know what DAQ hw use this timing type? Does the NI PCI-6220/6221 support these features?

In general, if a product's specifications include the analog input sample rate (e.g. "up to 200KS/s") then that means the product supports hardware timing and buffered analog input.

In case of factory unlocked iphone 4 we can update software and can use different carriers too, is that true? Pls advise.

If you go to the Apple Store in the US and ask for an unlocked phone, at $649/$749, it comes without a microSIM and is unlocked. You are responsible for getting a microSIM and setting up service. It is factory unlocked.
If you purchase an iPhone in Australia with service from one of the cell providers, once you meet terms they set you can apply for unlocking the iPhone, which may have a fee to do do. Once you have met all the terms you are notified and you connect your iPhone to iTunes where you will get a message that your iPhone is unlocked. This is officially unlocking it through the carrier. You now either stay with that cell provider or get a microSIM from another provider and set up service.
In either case, as wjostem pointed out, officially unlocked is officially unlocked.

Having the email address is not necessary. It is just the username for the device. All you need is that Apple ID and password. Now, if you forgotten the password, then you have more work to do. Ask the vendor where you bought your iPhone, they can tell you if it is locked, and if so, when you can have it unlocked. If you don't know, where the phone originally was bought, you can also contact Apple and have them verify the serial number of your iPhone against their database. If it has a carrier lock, they will know.
Please note that if your phone does have a carrier lock, only the carrier, who had implemented the lock, can authorize Apple to remove it.
