In the US you will find iPads with an AT&T SIM card because in the US that's the only network supporiting the 3G GSM iPad. Nonetheless, THE IPAD 2 IS NOT LOCKED TO AT&T. You can take out the SIM card and use another SIM from another carrier.

How can I store videos onto my 3rd generation Apple TV?

I used to store the videos that were on my iTunes (mostly my son's videos) to my 1st generation Apple TV, so I wouldn't need to keep the MacBook open for streaming.
Now that I've bought the 3rd generation Apple Tv, I discovered that I didn't like the fact that I couldn't store my videos onto the device itself and that I had to keep my MacBook open for streaming whenever my son asked to see his favorite videos.
Is there a way to attach a hard drive to the Apple TV? Something I can keep attached so all the data I need stays there?

If the majority of your stuff is from iTunes Store then you may be able to rewatch using Purchased sections of Movies and TV Shows across the internet without having a computer/iTunes running - in some ways I suspect this was Apple's goal in removing storage.
Annoyingly, you must subscribe to itunes Match to access your music purchases which I think is wrong - fine for matched or uploaded content but wrong if you've purchased music and don't need itunes match.

3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Your password for your Apple ID is not the same as the passcode for the screen lock on your iPad unless you set it that way deliberately, enabling the extra-long passcodes (the standard is a four-digit number).
