I use report_viewer to run CR .rpt files from a Progress Application. When launched CR presents the report on the screen for the user to view/print. Can I run this report in a way that just goes directly to a printer and does not display on the screen? I just want to print the report and then have the CR session close. All this without the user ever seen CR. Don

Kudek, Thank you for the reply! I wasn't able to find a solution in your response as I am presently doing what you suggested.
Below is the code (Progress 4GL) that I'm using to launch the report. It brings the report to the user screen and automatically directs the printout to the appropriate printer. I'm trying to get it to go to the printer without displaying anything on the screen.
The last call, is the one that is presenting it to the CRT. I must have to replace the "ReportViewer:ViewReport()" with a different call to bypass the display step and go directly to the printer, but I don't know what to use.
Again, any help is very much appreciates.

Just make a .bat file. Open notepad, type something like

javaw -classpath %~d0%~p0 Package.MainClass %1
Now make a shortcut to this file. Rightclick the shortcut and select start in "minimized". Thats it...

Firefox generally displays the printers in Windows' Printers folder (Start orb > Devices and Printers). If it is missing one of the printers listed there, could you indicate which one it is, for example, Adobe Distiller, PrimoPDF, CutePDF Writer, etc.?
If you previously had an add-on which added print-to-PDF functionality just to Firefox, perhaps it got disabled. You could check here:

Also, are you really running Firefox 8.0.1? That version from last November is no longer secure and has been superseded by Firefox 11. If you browse the web widely, you should update for your security.

I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.

As for the USB cable, personally, I believe the intention is to bring down the cost of the printer by selling the USB cable separately. Many people already have printer USB cables kicking around the house, so instead of paying more for the printer and having an extra cable I believe the theory is reduce the cost and sell the USB separately for those who need to purchase one.

Glad to hear that you found how to edit page headers and footers in Numbers 3.2. I agree that Help in Numbers 3 is woeful. No searchable PDF to download and use offline. All is online (one page at a time) and we need to know the terms we are looking for before we look.

For printing to paper where layout is important, I use Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) with its Print View. But it is orphanware. As the name suggests, there has not been a major overhaul since 2009. With that in mind, it is a useful version to hang onto while we hope and wait (and provide feedback to Apple) for something in future versions of Numbers 3.x to provide better layout capability.
Indeed, each new update of Numbers 3.x has restored more of the old features while adding new features that are enhancements over Numbers '09. Many of the Numbers 3 enhancements reflect long-awaited wishes through this forum, and were passed on by Numbers Feedback to Apple. So it seems that Apple does take heed of feedback.
In the meantime, I enjoy the charm of Numbers '09 whilst exploring the new features of Numbers 3.

Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

Look on Kodak's site. They have several options with Google Docs to enable you to print. The exact capabilities vary from model to model.

I have set up an inputstream and outputstream to the "ftp process" of java.lang.Runtime I have sent the command "dir" to ftp.

1: Go into iTunes.
2: Right click on the song and choose 'Get Info' (or press cmd+i on a Mac).
3: In 'Info' change the album name to the one you want it to go into, when you start typeing it should automatically come up.
4: Check that the disk number and track number is correct. It should be automatic.
4: Press OK.
You should see it go into the album now.
