  • How can I learn where a missing class resides?

    I'm going thru a tutorial that autogenerates a few small Java source files in a small project. They SHOULD compile without error, but don't, apparently because various classes are referenced and are not present on my PC.
    How can I learn where they are? How can I get the needed classes, and can I trust the files I find, assuming I find them out on the web somewhere.
    The message of the moment (produced by NetBeans 4.1) is:
    "class com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile cannot be found"
    I plugged that classname into Google, and found someone wonder in a forum where this class is, then reply to his own question saying he found it in jaxrpc-impl.jar
    Maybe that's right. Now I have to find this Jar file.
    Hopefully there's a better way to find this stuff!
    Any advice appreciated.

    That's how you do it.
    In this case, I believe that the jar is part of the JAX_RPC functionality (recently renamed to JAX_WS), and a copy is included with Sun's Application Server - and also other downloadable packages, but I don't know exactly which others.
    The class is part of the umbrella J2EE system.

  • How can I learn to use my new Mac Air?

    How can I learn to use my new Mac (I am a long time user of Windows), without having to go to Apple Store. Ours is 50 mi. away. Is there such a remote service? (Apple's or otherwise)

    If you enjoy learning by reading, here's an excellent book in my opinion:
    Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Mountain Lion Edition
    The author, David Pogue, is the New York Times technical writer.  He is, in my opinion, an excellent author.  This book is accurate and complete.
    I have no financial interest in the author, publisher, or Amazon (the link points there).  But I did use a previous version of this book when I started with Macs and am a satisfied customer.

    I have forgotten my Mail account password on my MacBook Pro.  How can I learn what it is?  (It doesn't give the option of resetting my password!)
    Thank you!

    The password it prompts for is the third password line in a box under 1) my name and 2) my me.com email address.  I assume it is the password I set up back in 2009 when I bought my MacBook Pro.  However, I have since fogotten it, and it doesn't give you an opportunity to "remember" it.
    Thank you!

  • How Can I Learn To Develop Flash Games For Under $50.00 USD?

    I am completely new to anything Flash. I have never written a
    single line of Actionscript. I don't know the difference between
    Flash and Flex. I don't know in what forums Flash developers hang
    out. I don't even know what kind of coffee they drink, or if they
    drink tea instead.
    However, I have developed games and have been thinking about
    developing some casual games and have heard rumors that Adobe is
    "pushing" causal game development with Actionscript 3 and their
    latest releases. So I went to adobe.com expecting to see a link for
    something like "learn how to develop games in flash" or some such.
    I poked around the developer related pages and didn't find anything
    I thought useful.
    What I did find were plenty of stuff for *existing* flash
    developers. Links to articles and HowTos for specific topics and
    information about products that cost a minimum of several hundred
    dollars. I can't learn how to develop games and create a prototype
    with a 30-day trial, and I am not going to buy a $1000 pro-grade
    tool when I am an indie developer without a budget or a pre-funded
    project that would justify such expenditures.
    I have seen some open source stuff, but don't know if it can
    do anything more than build some annoying shaking banner ads.
    So let me introduce myself as a possible use-case for Adobe
    Marketing and the Flash (Game) Developer community.
    I am an educated experience software developer who has a day
    job doing "enterprise" software stuff. I want to *play* in my free
    time (evenings and weekends) with "Flash Stuff" and learn enough to
    be able to build a simple game that I can put on my personal
    website and have my friends download. I am not a student, so I
    can't get student discounts. The money I have goes toward
    toys^H^H^H^H tools for my other coding habits^H^H^H^H^H projects. I
    am not interested in 30-day trials, as I may go 45-days or more
    between the first and second weekends I get to play with this. I
    know OOP so I want to start out learning how to do the "advanced"
    stuff from day one and not have to start with dragging and dropping
    PNGs w/o any coding and then "relearn" how to do it in code so I
    can do anything beyond having the image appear and rotate.
    I *am* willing to put time into this endeavor, but only after
    I have a few things spoon-fed to me by "advocates" who's job is to
    get me "hooked" and willing to invest my time to go beyond Hello
    World. At the same time I am download and playing with GarageGames,
    TGE/TGB, Game Maker, Dark Basic, Blitz Basic, etc. and many
    complete development environments that are full-featured and
    completely free if I limit myself to releasing only freeware games,
    or cost me less than $50 for the "professional" version with all
    the bells and whistles.
    I have heard rumors and rumblings about some open source
    tools being available and Adobe maybe open sourcing some of their
    previously pay-to-play tools, but also understand that Adobe can
    probably provide a better "comprehensive" package of tools,
    documentation, tutorials, and support, *if I can find the right
    place to ask/start.*
    And, most of all, I don't know where to start my search as I
    have no personal contacts to bug about stuff like this.
    So, where can I find the big red button to push and get
    everything I want handed to me on a silver-platter.
    [please understand I have written this with some attempt at
    self-mocking humor and am not some clueless n00b]
    Thank you for taking the time to read my lengthy posting. I
    hope to find some helpful replies and start down an interesting
    learning path.

    Just saw your post. Better late than never. You may want to
    consider GameBrix.com, where you can create Flash based, casual
    games using your web browser. No downloads are required. You can
    create a game from scratch using a library of images, sounds and
    game mechanics. You can also upload your own. The online script
    editor will allow you to view and edit the ActionScripts associated
    with each game mechanic. In short, a great way to ramp up on game
    design and build your own game without investing a lot of $
    upfront.
    BTW I am associated with GameBrix so any feedback is
    appreciated.

  • How can I learn the details of how the iBA video optimizer works?

    Although I appreciate the work done by the vide optimizer in iBooks Author, results vary depending upon the characteristics of the video I submit to it. Sometimes this is acceptable, sometimes not. I came to this conclusion by adding different versions of the same video clip to the iBA Media Widget and then deconstructing the resulting *.ibooks file and analyzing those video files using MediaInfo.   I think that if I could better understand how the optimizer works I could get more acceptable results.
    So where can I learn more about  how this optimizer works?

    In PO screen(me21n) delivery item tab over-delivery & under- delivery % is there.While creating PO you have to set it.Based on that goods receipt will be done.

  • How can i learn class methodology

    i'm a programmer for 2 years. i know vb 6.0, php 4. but in these languages i never make a program with using class. because i dont know how can i make a class.
    now i started to learn java. but i can't understand how can i write class in my programs. or how can i extend classes...
    what will i do to learn class. what you offer...?
    thanks for your response.
    [email protected]

    Nothing is better for the learning process than farting about /being experimental /trial and erroring in Notepad and javac, eg;-class A{
       protected A(){
         System.out.print("Hello ");
    public class B extends A{
       public static void maain(String []params){
         doesThisWork();
       private B(){
         System.out.print("world");
       public static void doesThisWork(){
          B b = new B();  // what gets printed to screen?
          A a = new A();  // what gets printed to screen?
          a = b;  // do these compile or create a runtime error?
          b = a;
          a = (a)b;
          b = (b)a;

  • How can I learn to interpret log messages in Console?

    I was given some instuctions on how to use Console to help solve a problem with my 24-inch Early 2009 iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3) becoming unresponsive and hanging which I solved for a while by removing Google Drive from my startup items (it was crashing).
    Now a similar problem has returned where it takes up to twenty minutes for my iMac to startup and become responsive. I returned to Console to see it I could figure out what was wrong on my own and realized I have little idea what the Console messages are telling me.
    For example I see these 3 lines repeatedly:
    4/15/15 12:02:05.658 PM configd: DHCPv6 en0: SendInformRequest transmit failed, Can't assign requested address
    4/15/15 12:02:41.941 PM ntpd: bind(31) AF_INET6 fe80::226:b0ff:fee3:5444%4#123 flags 0x11 failed: Can't assign requested address
    4/15/15 12:02:41.941 PM ntpd: unable to create socket on en0 (121) for fe80::226:b0ff:fee3:5444#123
    I have an Apple TV, 2 Kindles, and a MacBook Pro and wonder if these messages relate to Network communications between my devices or …?
    Another example:
    4/14/15 10:59:59.877 PM iTunes: Failed to create replacement string
    Does this indicate a problem or is it simple the result of turning off iTunes use of speakers connected to my Apple TV?
    Is there a reference or text somewhere that I can access to learn how to interpret Console messages?
    Thanks,
    Mike Barrett

    That article assumes you know how to obtain and install a signing certificate.
    For that, go here: http://www.thawte.com/secure-email/personal-email-certificates/index.html?click= DoYouNeedTo-SecureMail
    Once you have the certificate, you may need to open Keychain Access, and do a File -> Import on the certificate file. When finished, you should see something under "My Certificates".

  • How can I learn this

    Hi guys,
    I have basic knowledge of flsh and a client of mine needs a 2 to 5 minutes flash presentation with voiceover.
    My client sent me a presentation as an example. I was browsing the web but cannot find anyting relevant to the topic.
    Can anybody direct me please? I need to learn how to create presentations in flash.
    Is this flash or after effects or both?
    here is the link to be used as an example: http://www.homestead.com/
    Thanks in advanced.
    L.

    if sync'g voice and animation must be precise, create an flv and display that in your flash.  otherwise, you can just attach your sound to your timeline, set it to stream and add your animation on that timeline.

  • How can I learn "Drag and Drop" with Swing components?

    Hello,
    Im using swing components, so using paint() to draw a "drag icon" doesnt seem acceptable. Im basically trying to move a JPanel image to be dragged/dropped over another JPanel in the same program/applet.
    I looked at Sun's Java Tutorial for information on doing drag and drop, but there was no trail completed yet.
    Does anyone know of any good resources to learn? Or can at least give me a general idea of how to do drag and drop?

    Did you see this?

  • How can I learn bitrate before buying--for sure

    Discussions suggest that most songs available for download on iTunes are 256 kbps but that some songs are still in 128 kbps. I wish to download a certain album, but I can't tell from the iTunes store what bitrate it is sold in.  Is there a way to tell actually, for sure, what the bitrate is before I buy the album?  Thanks.

    Thanks! There is a lot of conflicting information at this site.  At http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1711, dated Dec. 2012, Apple says,
    What is iTunes Plus?
    iTunes Plus is the new standard on iTunes. iTunes Plus downloads are songs and music videos available in our highest quality 256 kbps AAC audio encoding
    and then it says:
    Why is iTunes Plus format available for certain music, but not all?
    The reason that certain music and music videos are not offered in our DRM-free, highest quality audio format is because they have not been provided in iTunes Plus format from the music label.
    Also, a recent discussion posting:
    How do you know the bitrate before you download?
    says the user downloaded an album in January and was surprised that it was 128.
    So, the user could be mistaken, but why does Apple say not all music is 256?  Thanks again.
