How can I link contacts (e.g.. Facebook and Exchange) in Mountain Lions Contact App

After I installed ML and setted everthing up, everthing is fine. On my iPhone and iPad as well as on the Mac the contacts are there. Alle contacts with same Name / Email are linked. But some, where name is not 100% matching are not. On iPhone and iPad i can link them manually but this linking is not synced between the devices. Well anyway, this is not a problem. Then i tried to link the respective contacts in Contact App on the Mac. There seems to be no option to do that. How can I link contacts on the Mac?
Thx
Jan

Do you think it's acceptable if I simply put the contact email address without a link so users can just look at it and then copy and paste into their own web client/browser?
You have to be a masochist to consciously publish an email address on a site anymore.   In a matter of weeks or months, you will get hit with so much spam mail, you won't want to open your inbox.
Use a form-to-email-processing script in PHP, ASP or whatever programming language your server supports.  Find one that hides your email address and has good spam prevention built-in.  It may take you an entire day to set-up your first contact form but it's worth it.  Otherwise, use a service. How can I make my first generation AirPort Express work with Mountain Lion? I have a 13" MacBook Pro (non-retina).

Hi guys, recently had the same issue. You require an older version of Airport Utility to configure the older Airport Express. It can be found here.

  • How to get link b/w FAGL_FC_VAL documents and Exchange rate loss&gain g/l

    Hi experts,
pls tell me link b/w FAGL_FC_VAL documents and Exchange rate loss & gain g/l documents.pls provide me the table name and field names.
    Regards,
    Viswanadh

    Hi,
I think you have been looking for link between FAGL_FC_VAL document created at the time of foreign currency valuation and document created at the time of realization (loss or profit booked). There should not by any link between the two, please note that these two will be differnt figures as realization is based on exchange rate at the time of realization and valuation is based on the rate prevailing at the time of valuation. Also valuation gets reversed on key date + 1 which woulld essentially mean that valuation is done for reporting purposes only.
    Hope this helps!!!

  • How can I deinstall Mavericks from my Mac book OS X Mountain Lion

I want to deinstall Maverick from my Mac Book and go back to Mountain lion

I did not expect so many changes  when I was upgrading to Maverick. I even cannot acess my i photo Library ( because it is on external harddisk and in the Mountain lion version?)
iPhoto must be updated to use in Mavericks. Don't do this as it will update your iPhoto Library to the new version making it unusable on Mountain Lion, but if you start iPhoto while holding down the Option key, you can then tell iPhoto where your Library is located

  • How can I link to a specific point and zoom in a public GIS Flash map?

I have been given the url for a county map that is presented in an interactive Flash document.
    http://68.156.95.45/newberrygis//#1
Client would like me to focus in on their specific development, which requires panning the map and zooming in.
How can I find a query string that will help me to do that?

The functionality of the GIS map was important. I was given the email for the person in charge of the map, who helped me out. It appeared that he was able to outline the road in the neighborhood that I needed to focus on. That provided a parcel ID, which in turn made it possible to focus in on the proper area. This is supposition on my part; perhaps he has other info that gave him the parcel ID.
I agree with Ken...I'm not a huge fan of Flash on other than desktops and laptops, but it is what it is, client needs to use it, I need to help the client out!

  • How to open feedDialog or ShareDialog in facebook and Google Plus in Windows Store App 8.1

I am developing a Store App in which I need to publish some message and image on user's profile. Using WebAuthenticationBroker I have
allowed the user to login in both Google Plus and Facebook and it returns a token but then I want to open Feed Dialog. How can I achieve this? Using graph API or any other third party SDK?

    Hi RohitrkKumar,
Per my understanding, the primary purpose of Web Authentication Broker is to avoid collecting credentials in client app and then transmitting those credentials over HTTP requests. But your requirement is to show facebook dialog, I think it is not related
    to
WebAuthenticationBroker. You can get more information about share dialog from facebook site.
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/reference/share-dialog?locale=zh_CN.
If you still have questions, please post more information about your scenario.

  • How can I change order of email accounts in Mail on Mountain Lion?

In Mail on Mountain Lion I have only two email accounts, but the wrong one has been set as default (because it was an account I had overlooked and added later). I cannot find how to change the order of the email accounts. One possibility is to delete the non-default account and re-add it, so that it becomes the most recent and thus (presumably) the default, but this would delete all the email messages in that account, which I cannot afford.
It's a great flaming pain to try to remember each email I write to select the second account option, and yet I can find no way to change email account order---not in Mail and not in System Preferences. Dragging them certainly does not work.
Can Apple have really missed this? Is there any solution?

Comfortable with terminal...know how to edit using TextEdit:
Open up a Terminal and use the following commands to change your Mail.app preferences file to an XML format – the default format is binary, and you can't edit this.
    cd ~/Library/Preferences
    plutil -convert xml1 com.apple.mail.plist
Then, open this file com.apple.mail.plist with a text editor of your choice, preferably one that highlights XML syntax, but you can also use TextEdit:
    open -a "TextEdit" com.apple.mail.plist
Now, look for the key called MailAccounts. It's value is an array, with dict children. Here, you'll find all your mail accounts in the order they were created in.
You can now manually move these dict children around. Save the XML file and reopen Mail. Now, your Mail account order will be changed.

  • How can I get Mac Mini to accept bootable installers for Mountain Lion ? They work fine on MB-Pro

I've had a Mac Mini (late 2012) for the past week and need to do a complete reinstall to get rid of very mucked up Server.app settings that I can't get rid of even though I uninstalled Server.app and what I thought were all of its Library files. I need to get the Mac Mini back to pristine, factory default to start over. Then I'll be able to put Server.app into a VM so I can trash it if need be without mucking up the rest of my system.
I have both a bootable recovery partition on an external hard drive (My Book firewire) and a USB bootable installer with a fresh edition of Mountain Lion. I know the USB installer works just fine because I used it to do a clean install of my MacBook-Pro just last night. Went like a charm.
When I start up the Mac Mini with the option key held down, everything seems fine -- I see both the USB drive and the My Book's 2 volumes (1 for data, 1 for the Recovery partition). But when I select either the USB drive or the My Book Recovery partition as the start-up drive, I get a screen with a circle with a line across (the no-entry traffic sign), with no way to go back or forward. So the computer has to be rebooted.
Any suggestions as to how to get the Mac Mini to recognize bootable installers that MacBooks are able to see?

Late 2012 Mac mini uses a special Mountain Lion version that it's only compatible with this Mac and you can only get on Internet Recovery because it's not available in the App Store. If you want to reinstall Mountain Lion, press Command, Option and R keys while your computer is starting

  • How can I install only OS on SSD and have the HDD only for apps?

I am looking to buy an SSD and install it in my CD area of the macbook pro with an adapter. But I wanted to know if it's possible to instal only my OS on the SSD and have the HDD only for Apps/Software....Is this possible and if so how can I do this?

I suppose you could do this by just installing Mountain Lion onto your SSD, and then move your applications folder and documents to the HDD.
But I would be wary of doing this because:
It seems like it would defeat the purpose of having a SSD, that is to make your computer fast. The computer would have to switch back and forth between the SSD and the HDD. Sounds like that would unnecessarily complicate things.
I like to keep things simple. I think the software engineers at Apple know what they are doing and I just keep things installed simply and the way they intend them. Then they seem to work. I put a SSD in my laptop about a year ago and it works perfectly. I haven't had a problem with my computer in a very, very long time.
This doesn't mean that you can't have a lot of files stored on a secondary drive somewhere, whether it is on an internal or external drive. But I'd keep the system software and apps where they belong, on the drive where the installer puts them.
And this doesn't mean that you can't try your plan and see how it works.

  • How can I manage an older airport express base station with Mountain Lion?

This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this base station. Use AirPort Utility 5.6 to configure or manage this base station. AirPort Utility 5.6 is available at AirPort Service and Support."
I tried to install AirPort Utility 5.6 on my Mac OSX 10.8 Mac Book and it will not allow me to.  How do I manage my "older" airport?

The 5.6 version can be installed but it does take an alternative route to do so. For example, you can use a utility like Pacifist to first extract the utility, and then, move it to the Utilities folder. Once "installed" by this method, it runs just fine on Mountain Lion.

  • How can I print a PDF document in OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion?

I just upgraded to OSX 10.6.3 and now 10.8 Mountain Lion.  I am extremely disappointed that I can no longer print (to my printer) ANY PDF documents either through Adobe or straight from a website.  Is there a way to deactivate the security feature that is blocking this?  I also own the newest version of Parallels (desktop 7) and cannot print through Windows either.  It's beyond annoying.  Thank you!
    Matt

I can print (such as e-mails, driving directions, etc), but nothing that is related to Adobe or PDF.  I have a Dell 1710 printer that is connected to my airport extreme wirelessly.  The printer has always worked on my I-mac since I bought it in 2007.  It stopped printing PDFs ont he Mac when Adobe was upgraded about a year ago.  I was then able to print through Adobe in Parallels/Windows.  Since the new OSX 10.6 and 10.8 came out, nothing prints through Adobe in either place.  I hope that helps.

  • How can I update from Os X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion 10.8.4?

I am trying to update my Mac from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion 10.8.4.  I have read online that I can no longer buy Mountain Lion from the App Store, and that I must purchase Mac X Maverick instead, but cannot find that on the App Store either.  All I want to use this eBay computer for is for iTunes radio, which needs OS X 10.7 or greater.  Could someone point me in the right direction for updating?  I'm a grandma, fer Pete's sake!  : )  Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.
