  • How can I use a applet in a JSP file?

    hi
    I failed to use applet in a jsp file.My workspace is a BC4J type. I put the applet's source file in business component project.the jsp is in JSP project.
    The jsp file calls applet by <jsp:plugin></jsp:plugin> style.
    The error is can't find the applet class.
    why? Thank someone for give me help.

    Actually using jsp applet tags does not mean that it is taking care of that the classes are available. It simply renders the Applet tag tothe JSP page. If e.g. teh codebase is specified as /java/, then there should be a mapping to the Java class location with thename of /java/. If codebase is not provided, then the Java class must be in the classpath of the JSp servlet.

  • How can I load an applet using Java Plug-in?

    I have written an applet and have tested with appletviewer, but I can't load it from a browser. Ghlin told me that I need to use Java Plug-in to load it. Please tell me how.

    Click on the Products and API link at the top left of this page. Download the Java Plugin. Be sure to get the developers version. Inside that developer's version there is a tool called HTMLConverter. Run HTMLConverter on your HTML and it will modify the applet tag in such a way that if the user already has the Java Plugin then it will use it. IF not, then the user will be asked if he wants to download it.

  • How do I load an applet in a JSP?

    i have coded an applet in a JSP, the page loads without any errors, but I am not able to view the applet. Any clues? thanks in advance

    I have never seen anyone do this where it turned out to be a good idea. That said...
    1. Application servers usually don't allow extraneous files to be placed in the application root. they will generate a security exception in the app server when trying to load.
    2. Applets can only access the server they were loaded from. If the app server uses the page 10.1.1.2 and you are using www.myserver.com as the codebase, it won't work.

  • How can I stop the execution on a JSP page and start it again

    Hi
    I am making a program that simulates how to manage transactions when accessing a database by using locks. I have run into a problem and I hope someone has the time to help me.
    When a user does an update the transaction commits and releases its locks when the program executes
    <%stmt.executeUpdate("commit!"); %>
    I need to put a break in to stop the program executing this statement, to illustrate the lock is set correctly.
    I have tried to put in an alert box but this does not prevent the rest of the java code being executed.
    I have tried to use prompt boxes, JavaScript functions, but these functions cannot have any java code in them.
    I have tried using the java.swing JOptionPane boxes but this didn?t work either
    I have tried to get input from the user but I don?t know how to retrieve this data on the same page. (As far as I know you have to use submit and even refresh the page or retrieve it on the next page).
    Does anyone know how I can stop the execution on a JSP page and start it again (on same page)
    Mette

    I already have another client (Tomcat jsp application) running and it throws a SQLException correctly when I dont put in a commit=true statement and don't close the database connection.
    But the problem is how to get the code above to stop to illustrate I have set this lock.
    I have tried to use the JOptionPane but because my program is running in a web browser I cannot use the JOptionPane dialog box.
    I have tired using an alert box but it executes the commit statement before the alert box is dispayed. So this does not work
    While (i < 2)
    if( i==1)
    %>alert(The transactions commits when you press Ok); <% //what it to stop execution here
    else
    stmt.executeUpdate(commit);
    I am not using threads so I cannot use the sleep function.
    I am using mysql and have already configured it to detect deadlocks and how long to wait for locks.
    Thanks for your help

  • How can I grab NT username from a jsp page?

    I have a requirement to grab the user's NT username using a jsp page.
    I thought about using JAAS NT module samples, but I would need an application running on the client to do this (not a webpage). Then I thought about using an applet, but then read that an applet cannot read the username (not even a signed applet).
    I know that Request.ServerVariables() in ASP and IIS, returns the NT domain and username. I'm using ATG Dynamo and iPlanet. I'm wondering if this can only be done through webserver variables. Would iPlanet have this?
    Thanks for your assistance.

    I can think of no way to accomplish this goal through the JSP/Servlet API. That type of information is not broadcasted via HTTP, so any server-based resource that captures it is probably interfacing with some client application. I know nothing about ASP, but suspect that it is only able to capture the user names by interfacing with some application that is hidden to the client- that is, I doubt it is using HTTP. Some thing will probably have to be installed on the client machine to capture this information.... ...it would seem to me that the only legitimate need for that information would be for authenticating intranet users. Can't each user just be assigned an application ID that is equivelent to their NT ID?

  • How can I display the date on a jsp page??

    Is there anyway to display the current date when someone views a jsp page??? Can I get it from the server or something like that?
    Thx
    Rich

    is there any type of formatting that goes witth
    that.....Most definitely -- check out the java.text.DateFormat object and its cohort java.text.SimpleDateFormat.
    For example, if you wanted to display the current date in MM/DD/YYYY format, you could do the following:
    <%-- This could go somewhere near the top of the JSP %>
    <%
    SimpleDateFormat f = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyy");
    %>
    <% And later on, you could have... %>
    <%= f.format(new Date()); %>Note that I've omitted the proper <%import%> directives.

    Hi Raul
    A better option would be to switch to Reports 9i because it natively supports Reports JSP tags. Your JSP then becomes seamless. And much more...
    With 6i, you can look at using Reports Servlet.

    I have made a single JSP Page where in i want to delete users, create users, update table data.

    I have 3 separate pages insert.jsp, delete.jsp, update.jsp to implement the jdbc coding. I know that i can get it done by calling a single jsp page using URL rewriting. But i want to code for events on this very page only.

  • How can I use java swing class in JSP page design

    I am a new developer in Java server pages. I want to use layout managers available in java swing classes to design the page. Can any body suggest me a way to do this.Is it possible if I do it with servelets.

    So, you want to use layout managers within your JSPs?
    The immediate answer is that "it isn't a good idea". The more considered answer is "tell us what you're up to".
    Are you coding all presentation within a traditional JSP? That is, HTML, customer or library tags and/java scriptlets?
    Or are you building your HTML within your servlets and sending that back to the browser?
    If the first, then you are probably better off either using explicit HTML tables (or the equivalent custom tags) or finding a library that you can use.
    If the second, you can write classes similar to the Swing layout managers that end up being a fancy way of putting elements into an HTML table. We have exactly that in my current environment. I wouldn't recommend rolling your own and I'd tend to leave all that presentation stuff to the JSP.
    In any case, you can't really use the Swing layout managers as they are for an entirely different pradigm.

  • How can i call java class file in jsp page

    Hai,
    i wants to call .class file in jsp page.
    my class file is in C:\jsdk\bin.
    Thanks

    I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "calling a class file", but I'm going to assume that you want to do something like the following in your page:
    <%
    MyClass myClass = new MyClass();
    myClass.someMethod();
    %>etc
    If that's the case, then all you have to do is make sure that the class is in the servlet engine's classpath. You'll probably also need to include an appropriate import statement at the top of the page.
    Hope that helps.

    I need to debug the file , but weblogic server is not generating the java file for the JSP pages .
    Please let me know how can i genertae Java file for the jsp pages ??

    JSPs are compiled into servlets automatically and those classes are stored in WEB-INF/classes folder. Servlet engine handles servlets.
